A new prenylated coumarin (1) and a new anthranilamide derivative (2) were isolated from the aerial parts of Evodia lepta. Compound 2 represents the first anthranilamide derivative from the Evodia genus. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic data analysis (MS, UV, IR, and NMR). Mannosylxylarinolide (1), a new 3,4-seco-ergostane-type steroidal saponin featuring a β-d-mannose moiety, was isolated from the culture of the endophytic fungus Xylaria sp. that had been isolated from an ornamental plant of Hoya sp. The gross structure was determined by spectroscopic data, and the absolute configuration of the new 3,4-seco-ergostane-type steroidal saponin (1) was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Chromatographic fractionation of the EtOH extracts of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Chloranthus japonicus, has led to the isolation of a new lindenane-type sesquiterpenoid lactone derivative (1). Rosmarylchloranthalactone E (1), which consists of lindenane sesquiterpenoid lactone and rosmarinic acid moieties linked via an ester bridge, was structurally elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR and HRMS data. Five selaginellin derivatives (1 and 3-6) including a new one, selaginellin T (1), and a new triarylbenzophenone analog, selagibenzophenone A (2), were isolated from the whole plants of Selaginella pulvinata. Their structures were determined by 1D- and 2D-NMR and HR-ESI-MS data. Selagibenzophenone A (2) is the first example of naturally occurring triarylbenzophenone. The results of the phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) inhibitory screening assays showed that compounds 1−6 exhibited potent activities with the IC50 values in the range of 1.04−9.35 μM. A new limonoid, 3-de(2-methylbutanoyl)-3-propanoylcipadesin (1), along with 10 known limonoids and 1 known triterpenoid, was isolated from the fruits of Cipadessa cinerascens. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis. Abstract: Phytochemical investigation on the stems of Trigonostemon flavidus resulted in the isolation of five new 3,4-seco-diterpenoids, trigoflavidones A–E (1–5), structurally related to the main co-occurring known 3,4-seco-sonderianic acid (6) and 3,4-seco-sonderianol (7). Compound 4 possesses new 3,4-seco rearranged ent-pimarane skeletal type, characteristic of a vinyl group at C-8, while 5 features a unique five-membered ring (C1) fused with a cyclopropane ring (C2). The structures of the new compounds were established by a combination of spectroscopic data and computational methods. Abstract: Three new humulane-type sesquiterpenes, 8-O-(p-coumaroyl)-5β-hydroperoxy-1(10)E,4(15)-humuladien-8α-ol (1), 8-O-(3-nitro-p-coumaroyl)-1(10)E,4(15)-humuladien-5β,8α-diol (2) and 8-O-(p-coumaroyl)-1(10)E,4(5)E-humuladien-8-ol (3), and a new copaborneol derivative, 1-O-p-coumaroyl-copaborneol (4), have been isolated from the methanol extract of Pilea cavaleriei Lévl. subsp. crenata C. Three new meroterpenoids (1 – 3) and ten known ones (4 – 13) were obtained from the endophytic fungus Talaromyces primulinus H21 isolated from the plant of Euphorbia sikkimensis. Their structures including their absolute configurations were elucidated by extensive analysis of spectroscopic data such as HR-ESI-MS, 1D/2D NMR, and X-ray diffraction of single crystal together with comparison of experimental ECD with calculated ECD. Aphanamixoid A (1), a limonoid with a new carbon skeleton, along with its biogenetically related limonoid aphanamixoid B (2), was isolated from the leaves and twigs of Aphanamixis polystachya. Their structures with the absolute stereochemistry were determined by spectroscopic analysis, X-ray crystallography and computational methods. Extensive phytochemical investigation on the whole herbs of Euphorbia hypericifolia led to the isolation of 18 structurally diverse tetracyclic and pentacyclic triterpenoids, including four 4 α ,14 α -dimethyl-5 α -ergostanes (1 – 4), two seco -adiananes (5 and 6), three dammaranes (7–9), four cycloartanes (10 – 13), one tirucallane (14), two fernanes (15 and 16), one ursane (17), and one oleanane (18). Among them, euphypenoids A (1) and B (5) were new triterpenoids. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and chemical transformation. All isolates were screened for their cytotoxic activities against the colorectal cancer cell line HCT-116, and compounds 1 , 12 , and 15 showed remarkable activities with IC 50 values of 12.8 ± 1.6, 7.4 ± 0.2, and 10.6 ± 1.2 μM, respectively. Four new tetracyclic triterpenoids (1 – 4) were isolated from the leaves and twigs of Jatropha gossypiifolia. Their structures were elucidated by MS and NMR data analysis, together with the Mo 2 (OAc) 4 -induced CD data. Jagabeoeuphols A-C (1 – 3) are rare 19(10 → 9) abeo -euphane-type triterpenoids possessing a Δ5(10) group and a 7,8-epoxide moiety, and jagoseuphone A (4) is a typical euphane-type triterpenoid.
