Effective monitoring of acetaminophen (APAP) dosage is crucial for preventing antipyretic abuse, ensuring therapeutic efficacy, and minimizing toxic effects. However, existing self-monitoring methods are limited. In this study, we designed a plasmonic microneedle (MN) sensor for real-time nondestructive monitoring of acetaminophen levels in dermal interstitial fluid (ISF) by employing a handheld Raman spectrometer. The fabricated MN sensor incorporated a high-density plasmonic MOFs known as HDPM, which unique structure of large specific surface area, specific pore structure as well as high density gold nanospheres packing enabled the excellent performance of selective ISF drug enrichment and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The maximum electric field enhancement factor of the HDPM nanostructure could be calculated as 5.73 × 10 7 . The developed HDPM@MNs was characterized with a core-shell type "soft on the outside and rigid on the inside" structure, which exhibited sufficient hardness and flexibility to penetrate the dermal tissue with little damage, and robust SERS enhancement effect in APAP detection without any interfering peaks. Through a hydrogel drug simulation experiment, the sensor demonstrated robust capabilities for acetaminophen enrichment and monitoring, exhibiting excellent stability and repeatability. The quantitative detection window spanned from 1 to 100 μM, with a low detection limit reaching 0.45 μM. Furthermore, by monitoring the concentration of acetaminophen in the interstitial fluid of rat skin at different doses and for different administration times, the HDPM@MNs can be used to determine the pharmacokinetics of acetaminophen in rats and the physiological characteristics associated with various dosage regimens. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have become promising host materials for enzyme immobilization and protection. Herein, ZIF-8 nanocubes were successfully self-assembled onto yeast as a biological template to obtain hybrid Y@ZIF-8. The size, morphology, and loading efficiency of ZIF-8 nanoparticles assembled on yeast templates can be well-regulated by adjusting the various synthetic parameters. Particularly, the amount of water significantly affected the particle size of ZIF-8 assembled on yeast. Through using a cross-linking agent, the relative enzyme activity of Y@ZIF-8@t-CAT could be greatly enhanced and remained the highest even after seven consecutive cycles, with improved cycling stability, as compared to that of Y@ZIF-8@CAT. In addition to the effect of the physicochemical properties of Y@ZIF-8 on the loading efficiency, the temperature tolerance, pH tolerance, and storage stability of Y@ZIF-8@t-CAT were also systematically investigated. Importantly, the catalytic activity of free catalase was decreased to 72% by 45 days, while the activity of the immobilized catalase remained above 99%, suggesting good storage stability. The present work demonstrates that yeast-templated ZIF-8 nanoparticles have a high potential to be used as biocompatible immobilization materials and are promising candidates for the preparation of effective biocatalysts in biomedicine applications.

In this paper, a ternary-emission fluorescence imprinted polymer was one-pot synthesized by sol-gel method after mixing luminescence metal organic framework, green CdTe and near infrared red CdTe for visual detection of chloramphenicol in food. The ternary-emission fluorescence imprinted sensor showed wider linear range within concentration of 10 pM-0.5 nM and 0.5 nM-4.5 nM, with rapid response time of 3 min and the lower detection limit of 3.8 pM toward chloramphenicol. Meanwhile, NH 2 -UiO-66 improved the fluorescence sensitivity and response speed, the near-infrared CdTe enhanced the anti-interference ability of the imprinted sensor. Compared with the traditional single-emission and dual-emission fluorescence imprinted sensors, the ternary-emission imprinted sensor provided richer color changes from yellowish green to apricot to orange-salmon to amaranth to purple to final blue. The establishment of a fluorescence sensing system for sensitive and selective visual detection of trace antibiotics is of great significance to food safety and human health risk assessment. A simple and rapid one-pot strategy was developed successfully to synthesize a down/up-conversion dual-excitation multi-emission fluorescence imprinted sensor for dual-channel thiamphenicol (TAP) detection. In this strategy, the metal-organic frameworks were in situ incorporated into the fluorescence imprinted sensor, guiding the coordination induced emission of abiotic carbon dots and signal-amplification effect of fluorescence sensing. Under dual-excitation (370 nm and 780 nm), the fluorescence imprinted sensor exhibited a dual-channel fluorescence response toward TAP with two-part linear ranges of 5.0 nM-6.0 μM and 6.0 μM-26.0 μM. Significantly, the fluorescence color ranged from blue to purple to red can be observed with the naked eye. The results of the dual-channel TAP determination in actual samples by the fluorescence imprinted sensor indicated that the fluorescence imprinted sensor provided a sensitive, selective, and multiplexed visual detection of TAP in complex sample., (Copyright © 2022 Elsevier Ltd. The rapid and simple synthesis of highly efficient multi-emission luminescent metal-organic frameworks (LMOFs) with down/up-conversion fluorescence properties becomes critical in potential optical sensing. Here, we present a luminescent dual-ligand co-assisted strategy to one-pot prepare LMOFs for multiplex fluorescence sensing using carbon dots (CDs) and 2-methylimidazole (2-MIM) as dual-ligand to induce Zn 2+ on zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 surface (CDs/MIM-Zn). The CDs/MIM-Zn exhibited efficient fluorescence-enhanced dual channels triple-emission with Stokes and anti-Stokes type excitation profiles. With the assistance of Stokes and anti-Stokes type optical property of CDs and the intrinsic porosity of MOFs structure, a rapid and sensitive dual-channel detection excited at 370 nm and 790 nm was performed to fluorescence turn off-on detect metal ions and reduced glutathione in real blood samples with the satisfactory recoveries of 98.3-106.4%. A dual-response ratiometric fluorescence imprinted sensor based on visible/near-infrared emission was established for ultrasensitive, selective and visual detection 4-nitrophenol (4-NP). The molecularly imprinted polymer was incorporated in the ratiometric sensing system consisting of visible emission carbon dots@zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (CDs@ZIF-8) and near-infrared emission cadmium telluride (CdTe) quantum dots. The CDs@ZIF-8 enhanced the emission of CDs and the fluorescence sensing performance. Compared to short wavelength of fluorophore, the near-infrared emission CdTe is less interference caused by auto-fluorescence of sample. The ratiometric fluorescence imprinted sensor exhibited dual response for 4-NP at 420 nm and 703 nm and a wide concentration response range. Moreover, a good linear response was existed in the two concentration ranges of 0.1 pM-3.0 pM and 0.05 μM-30 μM with the detection limit of 0.08 pM and 0.05 μΜ, respectively. Significantly, the fluorescence color changes can be observed from purple to pink to red with the naked eye. The fluorescence quenching mechanism of the ratimetric fluorescence imprinted sensor was discussed in detail. The ratiometric fluorescence imprinted sensor was used to detect 4-NP in various real samples with satisfactory recoveries of 97.5-106.3%, which provided an interesting avenue for the rapid detection of pollutant with high sensitivity, high selectivity and visualization in real environment., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier B.V. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have received extensive attention in the field of biomedicine, particularly serving as multifunctional theranostic nanoplatforms by integrating chemodrugs, imaging agents, and targeting agents. Herein, we report a facile strategy for the fabrication of a hollow and monodisperse MOF (denoted h MIL-88B(Fe)@ZIF-8) consisting of ZIF-8 nanoparticles loaded on the external shell of hollow MIL-88B(Fe). In particular, the hybrid hollow MOF was constructed by partially etching spindlelike MIL-88B(Fe) nanoparticles with 2-methylimidazole in the presence of zinc ions. The obtained h MIL-88B(Fe)@ZIF-8 was then used as a drug/cargo delivery vehicle for loading doxorubicin (DOX), manganese oxide (MnO x ) nanoparticles, and folic acid (FA), forming a multifunctional nanoplatform (denoted h M@ZMDF). Importantly, the resulting h M@ZMDF exhibited a specific targeting property for the FA receptor-overexpressed cancer cells (MCF-7 and HepG-2 cells) and then it unloaded DOX and Fe 3+ in the tumor microenvironment. Consequently, DOX played dual roles as a chemotherapeutic drug and a fluorescent imaging agent. Also, the released Fe 3+ could mediate the Fenton reaction and intracellularly generate toxic hydroxyl radicals in the presence of high glutathione in cancer cells. In addition, MnO x nanoparticles could participate in magnetic resonance imaging. Therefore, the versatile h M@ZMDF nanoplatforms have great potential for smart cancer therapy.

Three-dimensional (3D) printing technique has received exceptional global attention as it can create a myriad of high-resolution architectures from digital models. In the present study, 3D-printed metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were shaped into several geometries via direct ink writing, which overcomes the instability and high-pressure drop of powdery MOF during the flow of gas or liquid streams. The inclusion of a blend of calcium alginate and gelatin (CA-GE) as biocompatible binder allowed for easy writing and an enhanced mechanical property. Besides, it was found that the printing geometry (square, hexagon, and circle), MOF loading amount, and MOF size also greatly influenced the adsorptive performance. For instance, the methylene blue adsorption efficiency of CA-GE scaffolds without MOF was only 43.6%, while the printed MOF/CA-GE sample exhibited 99.8% adsorption efficiency at 20 min. Both the inherent microporous structure of MOFs and meso/macroporous structures of the 3D matrix contributed to the excellent adsorption properties towards a variety of organic dyes and their mixtures. Furthermore, the 3D-printed adsorbents can be easily regenerated in dilute acid solution and reused for at least 7 times without performance loss. MIL-100(Fe, Cr) and MIL-101(Cr) were synthesized by the hydrothermal method and applied to the adsorptions of five aromatic amines from aqueous solutions. These three metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were well characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and surface area analysis. The adsorption mechanism of three MOFs and the effects of the structures of MOFs on the adsorption of aromatic amines were discussed. The results show that the cavity system and suitable hydrogen bond acceptor were important factors for the adsorption for five aromatic amines of aniline, 1-naphthalamine, o-toluidine, 2-amino-4-nitrotoluene and 2-nitroaniline: (a) the saturated adsorption capacity of aniline, 1-naphthylamine and o-toluidine on MIL-100(Fe) were 52.0, 53.4 and 49.6 mg/g, respectively, which can be attributed to the intermolecular hydrogen bond interaction and cavity system diffusion. (b) The adsorption capacity of 2-nitroaniline and 2-amino-4-nitrotoluene on MIL-101(Cr) were 54.3 and 25.0 mg/g, respectively, which can be attributed to the more suitable pore size of MIL-101(Cr) than that of MIL-100(Fe, Cr). The MOFs of MIL-100(Fe) and MIL-101(Cr) can be potential materials for removing aromatic amines from aqueous solutions.

The development of a simple and rapid separation and analysis method with high selectivity toward ciprofloxacin is of great importance for environmental protection. Herein, this paper reported a hollow magnetic zeolitic imidazolate framework‐67 based molecularly imprinted polymer for selective adsorption and enrichment of ciprofloxacin. The morphology and structural properties of the hollow magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and thermogravimetry, and the results showed that the material has an obvious hollow structure, good thermal stability, and magnetic properties. The hollow magnetic imprinted polymer has a higher adsorption capacity (75.59 mg/g) and shorter adsorption saturation time (50 min) toward ciprofloxacin. Moreover, the hollow magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer showed excellent adsorption ability, stability, and repeatability. The hollow magnetic imprinted polymer was used to detect trace ciprofloxacin in actual samples (river water, human urine, chicken) successfully with the recoveries of 91.4–100.4%. With the advantages of high recovery (91.4–100.4%), high speed (50 min), and high selectivity (selectivity factor > 2.50), the hollow magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer has broad application prospects in the efficient adsorption of ciprofloxacin. Mimicking biological proton pump phenomenon to achieve stimulus‐responsive proton conduction behavior has received long‐term attention. The Pa@Zn‐MOF (Pa = photoacids) composites are successfully prepared through adsorption photoacid in Zn‐MOF, then, the composites are mixed into poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) to fabricate hybrid membranes Pa@Zn‐MOF‐PVA. When the hybrid membrane is activated through 375 nm violet light at room temperature, the value of proton conductivity after illumination is always superior to that before light irradiation. This phenomenon is attributed to the light‐induced ring‐closing reaction of the photoacid molecules to give the spiro‐forms (SPs) along with an abundant release of protons. The released protons jump into hydrogen bond networks and conveniently accelerate proton transport, resulting in higher proton conductivity. This is a noteworthy demonstration of dynamic control over proton conduction in composite membrane materials by adsorption of photoacid molecules in metal–organic framework. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The α‐L‐Rhamnosidase (Rha) is a useful glycoside hydrolase for selectively hydrolyzing the terminal L‐rhamnose residues in flavonoids, being vital to food and pharmaceutical industries. However, Rha suffers from low recyclability and poor stability in harsh environments. Herein, we explored five typical metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) as porous carriers to immobilize Rha, and the activities of the resultant Rha@MOF composites were compared with the free enzyme. The locations of the enzyme in MOFs were proved by a series of characterization techniques. It was found that Rha@Ce‐BTC (with enzyme immobilization efficiency of 23 % and enzyme loading content of 8.8 %) showed the highest enzymatic activity. The immobilized Rha@Ce‐BTC showed 80 % residual activity after five consecutive cycles, suggesting a limited leaching effect. Also, Rha@Ce‐BTC manifested markedly enhanced enzyme‐substrate affinity and catalytic efficiency compared to free Rha, as supported by Michaelis‐Menten kinetic studies. Accordingly, the Ce‐BTC would be an appealing carrier for enzyme immobilization, and the as‐designed enzyme/Ce‐BTC composites are promising candidates for industrial use with remarkably high activity, recyclability, and storage stability. A new metal–organic framework (MOF), [Eu2(HBDPP)2(H2O)2(DMF)2](H2O)2 (H4BDPP = 3,5-bis(3,5-dicarboxylphenyl) pyridine; DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide) (Eu-MOF), has been successfully synthesized under solvothermal conditions. A 1D chain was formed by the adjacent Eu2(COO)24+ dinuclear cluster and HBDPP3−, and further connected by HBDPP3− to form an infinitely extended 3D structure. In order to further improve the proton conductivity of the Eu-MOF, imidazole was encapsulated in its pores to form a composite material named Im@Eu-MOF. AC impedance analysis shows that the highest proton conductivity of the Im@Eu-MOF reaches up to 4.53 × 10−4 S cm−1 at 348 K and 98% RH, which is about 10 times higher than that of the Eu-MOF. In addition, the Eu-MOF can be considered an excellent luminescence-based sensor with a high sensitivity and low detection limit (0.1 μM) for the detection of trace amounts of ascorbic acid. • A series of sheet-like Cu/Zn/Al nanocatalysts have been well fabricated. • The Cu/Zn/Al nanocatalysts were produced by using LDH and MOF as solid precursors. • The catalysts showed reduced CO selectivity by increasing the activation energy. • In-situ DRIFTS study indicates the importance of *CH 3 O intermediate. The CO 2 hydrogenation to generate methanol is one of the most promising techniques to turn waste CO 2 into useful fuel and chemicals in a sustainable manner. Herein, we have designed several hierarchical sheet-like Cu/Zn/Al nanocatalysts to efficiently produce methanol from CO 2 hydrogenation by a rational integration of layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanosheets and metal-organic frameworks (MOF) nanoparticles as double solid precursors. Specifically, the uniform loading of Zn-BTC nanoparticles on CuAl LDH surface was achieved by an in-situ growth method at mild conditions. It was found that the pretreatment of the LDH with acetone could effectively exfoliate the sheet-like structure, increase the specific surface area, and facilitate the immobilization of Zn-BTC nanoparticles, which remarkably improved CO 2 hydrogenation performance with respect to methanol selectivity (>90% at 200°C). It was found that both the existence of Zn-BTC and the pretreatment of LDH with acetone significantly reduced CO selectivity by increasing the activation energy (Δ(E a) up to 20 KJ/mol). Moreover, in-situ DRIFTS study indicates that the promoting effect of ZnO (derived from Zn-BTC) on methanol formation is mainly associated with the formation of a higher amount of *CH 3 O intermediate rather than *CO and *HCOO species on the catalyst surface. A novel metal‐organic framework, [Zn2(HCOO)(trz)3]n (1), has been successfully synthesized under solvothermal conditions. The central ZnII ions exhibit two different coordination environments: [ZnN3O] and [ZnN6], in which the coordination N and O atoms are from Htrz and formic acid molecules. To effectively improve the proton conductivity of 1, imidazole molecules are introduced into 1 to obtain 2HIm@1 (named as 2). Moreover, composite membranes of 2‐PVA‐X (X = 5, 10, 15, 20wt.‐%) are prepared. Alternating current (AC) impedance measurements reveal that 1 displays proton conductivity 7.95 × 10–7 S cm–1 at 98 % RH and 323 K, while 2 shows high proton conductivity 1.51 × 10–4 S cm–1 at 98 % RH and 318 K. It is worth noting that the proton conductivity of 2 increases about three orders of magnitude compared with that of 1. Additionally, the measurements of proton conductivity on these membranes show that 2‐PVA‐10 has high proton conductivity 1.23 × 10–4 S cm–1 at 98 % RH and 358 K. The activation energy (Ea) has investigated to deeply understand the proton conductivity mechanism. Imidazole molecules are introduced into [Zn2(HCOO)(trz)3]n1 to obtain 2. Freestanding 2D nanosheets with many unprecedented properties have been used in a myriad of applications. In this work, 2D copper‐bearing metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs; viz., Cu‐BDC) nanosheets are successfully fabricated via a facile and benign methodology through using Cu2O nanocubes (≈60 nm) as a confined metal ion source and 1,4‐benzenedicarboxylic acid (H2BDC) as an organic linker. The Cu2O nanocubes gradually release Cu+ ions which are further oxidized by the dissolved oxygen and serve as nutrients for construction of 2D frameworks. In contrast, the conventional solvothermal synthesis with copper salt exclusively yields bulk Cu‐BDC with edge dimensions of 2–10 µm. Interestingly, the as‐prepared Cu‐BDC nanosheets show ultrathin thickness, oriented growth, and excellent crystallinity, which can be exploited as a platform for the design of a series of 2D‐integrated nanocatalysts by loading various metal nanocrystals such as Au, Ag, Pt, and Ru, with 3‐mercaptopropionic acid as molecular link. In addition, it is found that Cu‐BDC/M composites with highly accessible active sites on the surface exhibit high catalytic activity in several condensation reactions between benzaldehyde and primary amines. The findings offer an alternative strategy for rational design and synthesis of 2D MOF nanosheets and the derived 2D nanocomposites for catalytic applications. Abstract Integrated nanocatalysts comprised of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and noble metal nanoparticles (MNPs) have been widely used in a myriad of reactions, however, the interactions between guest MNPs and inorganic nodes in the framework are relatively weak due to the hindrance of organic moiety. Herein, Ce-bearing MOFs (viz. , Ce-BTC nanorods) were used as support material to immobilize MNPs (e.g. , Au, Cu, Au-Cu), and a variety of thermal treatments (e.g. , inert gas, air, or dilute O 2 atmospheres) were conducted to partially or completely remove organic moiety in order to adjust the interactions between Ce nodes and the guest MNPs. It was found that M/CeBTC without deligandation treatments exhibited negligible activity in CO oxidation. Partial deligandation could greatly enhance the intimate interactions, however, the carbonization showed detrimental effect on the catalytic activity. Interestingly, a further treatment in a dilute O 2 atmosphere can selectively eliminate the carbon and retain a "quasi-MOF" state, and importantly the resultant catalysts exhibited excellent performance for CO oxidation without any activity loss over 250 h evaluation time. Catalytically agitating paddles are essential to perform liquid-solid heterogeneous catalytic reactions on an industrial scale due to the improved mass transfer and easy catalyst recovery. Herein, bimetallic oxides were formed after the calcination of nanomaterials derived from metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Particularly, Mn(M)-BTC nanomaterials were synthesized by self-assembly of Mn2+ ions (mixed with various dopants such as Cu2+, Ce3+, or Fe2+) and H 3 BTC ligands in a mixed solvent of ethanol and water. It was found that in the powdery form, the Mn-Cu oxide derivate exhibited the highest degradation rate in the catalytic wet peroxide oxidation process (CWPO process), which was significantly higher than that of single metal oxide as well as Mn-Fe and Mn-Ce oxide derivates. The reason was caused by the synergistic effect between Mn-Cu promoted the formation of Mn3+ and Cu+ species to boost the CWPO reaction. Furthermore, the obtained Mn-Cu powdery catalysts were 3D-printed to obtain monolithic agitating paddles with different geometries, which were then mounted on a central shaft in the stirred reactor. An advanced oxidation process was used to investigate the effect of 3D patterns on the degradation efficiency of various organic dyes. It was discovered that the 3D-printed grid with higher cell density (484 cpsi) had better liquid mixing efficiency and thus better catalytic performance, which could be repeatedly used more than seven times. Additionally, the numerical simulation analysis (computational fluid dynamics) revealed a good mixing efficiency and improved mass transfer in the entire reactor equipped with the designed monolithic agitating impellers. A novel dual-emission ratiometric fluorescence capillary imprinted sensor based on luminescence metal organic framework was fabricated firstly with high sensitivity and selectivity for chiral recognition of L -tyrosine. To construct the ratiometric fluorescence capillary imprinted sensor, the luminescence metal organic framework and near-infrared quantum dots silicon as fluorescence sources were embedded into the imprinted layer which was grown up on the inner surface of amino-modified capillary. In present of L -tyrosine, the blue fluorescence (424 nm) served as fluorescence response signal was quenched due to the inner filter effects between metal organic framework and L -tyrosine while the red fluorescence (688 nm) served as the reference signal was remained. With the linear range of 1.0 × 10−10~ 2.5 × 10−8 M, the ratiometric fluorescence capillary imprinted sensor was applied to detect L -tyrosine in actual sample successfully with the satisfactory recoveries of 99.07~101.18% and the detect limitation of 8.0 × 10−11 M, indicating great potential application for detecting L -tyrosine in actual samples. The sensor integrated the molecularly imprinted technology and fluorescence capillary method achieved sensitive and selective determination of L -tyrosine with micro volume reagent consumption (18 μl) which provided a route for trace detection. • A novel dual-emission ratiometric fluorescence capillary imprinted sensor was prepared. • The fluorescence sensor has high sensitivity due to amplification of fluorescence signal of capillary waveguide effect. • The fluorescence sensor realized micro-volume sample analysis (18 μl) for L- tyrosine. • The fluorescence sensor was selective for chiral recognition of L- tyrosine. Due to the flexible structures and vulnerable coordination bonds, hydrolytic stability of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is a critical issue for practical use. Besides the collapse of MOF structures by water intrusion, herein, we found that phase transformation among MOF isomers (viz. , t -Ln-BTC, m -Ln-BTC, and c -Ln-BTC) can be triggered by water/organic solvent soaking. In isostructural Ln-BTC, different Ln cations (Ce3+, Y3+, or their combination) affected the hydrolytic robustness of the frameworks by altering the bonding strength of Ln-O. In addition, the Ln-BTC isomers can serve as host materials to immobilize Au Pd alloy nanoparticles for the catalytic benzyl alcohol oxidation reaction in aqueous solution, wherein, the catalytic performance increased in the order of m -Ln-BTC/Au-Pd < c -Ln-BTC/Au-Pd < t -Ln-BTC/Au-Pd. Nevertheless, the poor recyclability of t -Ln-BTC/Au-Pd was caused by the phase transformation of t -Ln-BTC to less porous m -Ln-BTC during the catalytic reaction. Strikingly, the hydrolytic robustness and catalytic recyclability of c -Y-BTC/Au-Pd were even better than the carbon-coating samples using thermal treatment (a routine strategy reported in the literature). Our results have demonstrated that the coordination environments between lanthanide ions and ligands have a significant effect on the structural stability, which can prevent the attack of water molecules and consequently protect the constituent metal-ligand bonds.
