Ordered cubic mesoporous graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) was synthesized by a simple chemical vapor deposition method using three-dimensional cubic mesoporous silica KIT-6 as the template and melamine as the precursor. X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption–desorption, transmission electron microscopy and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectra analysis techniques were used to analyze the sample. It was observed that the synthesized ordered mesoporous g-C 3 N 4 had a cubic I 4 1 32 symmetry with a high surface area of 129.8 m 2 /g and uniform pore size of 3.5 nm. Because of these properties, the obtained ordered mesoporous g-C 3 N 4 exhibited an enhanced photocatalytic activity for the reduction of CO 2 with H 2 O when compared that of flake-like g-C 3 N 4 . In this work, mesoporous aluminosilicate supports (Al-SBA-15) were prepared using in situ “pH-adjusting” method, and Ag nanoparticles were supported on Al-SBA-15 supports by using the simple impregnation method. The effect of the Si/Al ratios of mesoporous support on the structure of Ag catalysts and the catalytic performance for the preferential oxidation of CO (CO PROX) in H 2 -rich gases was investigated. The Ag/Al-SBA-15 catalyst with an appropriate Si/Al molar ratio of 200 has been found to show highly catalytic activity, selectivity and stability. A series of supports and corresponding supported Ag catalysts with different Si/Al ratios were characterized by ICP-AES, XRD, N 2 adsorption–desorption, 27 Al NMR, FT-IR of adsorbed pyridine, TEM, H 2 -TPR and XPS. The results indicated that the addition of a small amount of Al is beneficial to the formation of small sized highly dispersed metal Ag particles in the channel, consequently improving the catalytic activity. In addition, the Ag/Al-SBA-15 (200) catalyst also exhibited better catalytic activity under the presence of H 2 O and CO 2 in the stream. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A series of magnetic mesoporous FeNi/graphitic carbon nanocomposites have been synthesized through a simple nanocasting method using mesoporous silica SBA-15 as the template. Metal nitrates and natural soybean oil are respectively used as the magnetic particle precursors and carbon source, which can be infiltrated into the silica template after impregnation, grinding mix and heat treatment. X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption–desorption, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, transmission electron microscopy, vibrating-sample magnetometry and thermogravimetric analysis techniques are used to characterize the samples. It is observed that high content of magnetic FeNi alloy nanocrystals with the sizes of about 3–6 nm are well homodispersed into the walls of graphitic mesoporous carbon matrix, and the resulting nanocomposites have a uniform mesostructure with a high specific surface area, large pore volume, and high saturation magnetization. Because of these characteristics, the obtained magnetic mesoporous FeNi/graphitic carbon nanocomposites can be used as efficient and recycled adsorbents in the removal of dye from wastewater.
