Neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NPSLE) is a specific disease, and its clinical manifestations involves the central and the peripheral nervous system range from life-threatening manifestations to subtle abnormalities.1 Neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus may be the first indication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in patients without disease activity in other organ systems.2 It represents a major cause of morbidity and mortality in SLE patients.3-8 Therefore, recognition, early diagnosis and treatment of NPSLE are of great significance.
