Background: The glenohumeral joint has a unique structure which allows for the widest range of motion among all joints in the human body; however this unfortunately makes the joint inherently unstable. Various imaging techniques are available for assessment of shoulder joint abnormalities. Magnetic resonance arthrography is considered the best modality for the assessment of disorders related to shoulder instability. The injection of para magnetic contrast solution into the joint cavity induced distension of the capsule allowing separation of the intra articular structures and beret visualization of shoulder disorders. However, arthrography is a time-consuming, minimally invasive procedure, which, although generally safe, it might carries some risks like hemorrhage and infection. Objectives: The aim of this work was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of MR arthrography (MRA) in the detection of shoulder disorders in patients having shoulder instability. Patients and methods: Between February 2017 and March 2021, 50 patients with a clinical diagnosis of shoulder instability were examined by MR arthrography. MR arthrographic finings including the different labral tears, rotator-cuff tears (RCTs) and Hill–Sachs lesions were recognized and compared to surgical arthroscope ‘ the gold standard’. Sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, PPV and NPV were calculated for MR arthrography. Results: MRA showed sensitivity and specificity of about 90% for the detection of classic Bankart lesions, sensitivity of 91.8 and specificity of 100%, for detecting bony Bankart lesions, sensitivity and specificity of 91.6 %, and 100% for the detection of SLAP lesions. The sensitivity and specificity for the detection of Hill-Sachs were 92.31%, 100% respectively; the sensitivity and specificity in the detection of RCTs were 95.24% and 100%. Conclusion: MR arthrography has a high diagnostic performance in the detection of different labral tears. RCTs (in particular partial thickness RCTs) and Hill–Sachs lesions.

Background:Hematuria has a wide prevalence rate in the population so it is a common reason for imaging of the urinary tract. Hematuria has many causes from urinary tract infections to malignancy. Imaging has a major role in the investigation of hematuria for determining the underlying cause and influencing management. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly valuable tools for assessing the urinary tract in adults and children. However, their imaging capabilities, while overlapping in some respects, should be considered as complementary, as each technique offers specific advantages and disadvantages both in actual inherent qualities of the technique and in specific patients and with a specific diagnostic question. Use of CT and MRI should therefore be tailored according to the patient conditions and the clinical question. The present review aim toclarify role of CT and MRI for assessment and diagnosis of causes of hematuria and to study the CT and MRI features of various etiologies causing hematuria.

Aim:To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of MRI techniques in detection and characterization of different prostatic lesions in comparison with TRUS. Patient and Methods:This prospective study include TRUS and MRI prostate of 30 adult male patients presented by different prostatic lesions obtained by using 1.5Tmachine, using pelvic phased array coil and/or endorectal coil. Pulse sequences include conventional (T1WT serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA), a nonspecific blood test; and Trans rectal ultrasound (TRUS)–guided biopsy, a standardized but untargeted method. Because of the limitations of these available diagnostic tools, advances in MRI techniques show potential for improving the diagnostic accuracy of MRI for prostatic lesions detection. A recently developed Multiparametric MRI approach that combines anatomic T2-weighted imaging with functional data appears to be one of the most promising techniques for prostatic lesions detection

Septic arthritis and transient synovitis are the two most common diseases among young patients with acute hip pain. The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and diagnostic accuracy of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in differentiating between septic arthritis and transient synovitis. This study included 25 patients; the final diagnosis by culture and sensitivity was 16 septic arthritis and 9 patient was diagnosed as transient synovitis. We found that sensitivity and specificity of post contrast MRI with fat suppression for differentiation between septic arthritis and transient synovitis are 100%.
