Background & objectives: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is an important medical disorder and one of the most common heart diseases worldwide, which causes disability and economic burden. The medical and research community is increasingly interested in computer-aided coronary heart disease diagnosis through the use of machine learning methods. This study aimed to diagnose coronary heart disease using a discriminant analysis algorithm in active elderly men. Methods: This analytical study was conducted on 351 patients of Ayatollah Kashani Hospital in Tehran. This work used discriminant analysis algorithm to diagnose coronary artery disease. Python software was used for data analysis. Results: The results showed that by using 14 characteristics as risk factors related to the subjects' laboratory, personal and lifestyle information. The discriminant analysis algorithm could distinguish healthy and sick people with 94.4% accuracy and 88.9% precision. Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that this system can probably be used as an effective and intelligent method along with other diagnostic methods by cardiologists to predict coronary artery disease. Also, new data mining methods can be effective in reducing invasive risks.

Background and Objective: Genu varus is a deformity in frontal plane that in weight bearing position whiles the medial malleolus’s touch each other, the medial knee epicondyles far from each other. Genu varus is very prevalent in soccer players. This study was done to evaluate the effect of using knee brace and lateral wedge on muscular activity amplitude in male soccer players with genu varus during running. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was done on 15 right-footed male soccer players with genu varus and 15 healthy soccer players. A wireless electromyography system with eight pairs of bipolar Ag/AgCl surface electrodes (20 mm center-to-center distance; input impedance of 100 MΩ; and common-mode rejection ratio of >110 dB) was used to record the activity of the tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius medialis, biceps femoris, semitendinosus, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, and rectus femoris, and gluteus medius muscles of the right leg. Electromyography data were recorded by sampling rate of 1000 Hz in selected muscles during running at five conditions including: control, 10 degrees lateral wedge, 15 degrees lateral wedge, simultaneous using 30 degrees brace and 10 degrees lateral wedge, and simultaneous using 30 degree brace and 15 degrees lateral wedge. Background & objectives: Insulin-like growth factor -1 (IGF-1) has a variety of roles, but the abundance of scientific evidence indicates that it is a metabolic biomarker associated with physical fitness and health. The present study investigates the effect of eight weeks of polarized exercise training on serum GH / IGF-1- indices in active young men. Methods: In this double-blind experimental study, 20 young males were allocated randomly into polarized training group (N=10) and a control group (N=10). The polarized training group performed 80-70% of the main workout volume (30 minutes) with light to moderate with 50-60% reserve heart rate (RHR) intensity and the remaining 20-30% at 85-95% RHR intensity; in a way that they ran two periods consisting 3 repetitions of 15-30 seconds, with 30-60 seconds of active rest after each repetition and 3 minutes of active rest after each period. Blood samples were taken from all subjects in three stages, including: pre-test stages, 24 hours before the start of the post-test, and after 12 hours overnight fasting. Post-test samples were collected, one sample immediately after the first session and the another 48 hours after the end of the last exercise session. Results: The results of the present study showed that bipolar training significantly increased growth hormone and free IGF-I levels after one training session, and after eight-week bipolar training program. However, total IGF-1 levels decreased significantly after one exercise session and after eight-week bipolar exercise program. Also, no significant change was observed in IGFBP-3 and IGFBP-5 levels after one training session and eight-week training program. Acid-labile subunit levels did not change significantly after one training session, but decreased significantly after eight weeks of bipolar training. Conclusion: Based on the results of the present study, it seems that the use of bipolar exercises, training may be a good way to improve the hormonal function and assess the level of health and physical fitness of active young men.

Introduction The heart rate deflection point (HRDP) is the heart rate deviation point of the straight line that is defined in the study of the relationship between work and time and it is used as a criterion for the intensity of exercise planning. The purpose of the present study is to review the Methodological approach of heart rate deflection point the new methods for determining this point. In the present study, the dimensions of HRDP methodology were examined in two areas of HRDP-related physiological mechanisms and HRDP determination methods. In the section on HRDP determination methods, determining the basal heart rate, HRDP calculation, and measurement methods, as well as training protocols, were the most important dimensions of methodology in measuring this point. The present study, by examining the findings of previous research, obtained a suitable and integrated summary of the physiological mechanisms associated with HRDP and the methodological dimensions of HRDP. The results indicate that disagreement about the ability of HRDP to determine the anaerobic threshold related to the methodology of HRDP measurement. Infect, it affects the definition of the anaerobic threshold. Therefore, studies on it continue.

Introdution: The Purpose of this study examined the effect of Kinesio taping the quadriceps femurs muscle of active students on anaerobic muscle power (AMP) and the anaerobic threshold (AT) to analyze the functional value of taping on athletic performance capacity. Methods: Twenty eight male healthy students with a mean age of 22.02±2.2 years were enrolled in this study voluntarily and randomly divided into two groups of taping (n=13) and control (n=15) groups. The anaerobic muscle power (AMP) was measured by the Wingate test, and the anaerobic threshold of participants was measured by a dependent maximal treadmill protocol (Conconi Test) with a week gap. Kinesio tapes, 5 cm in width, were applied to quadriceps femurs muscles of participants. The anaerobic threshold was evaluated after 7 days taping, then after 7 days, the anaerobic muscle power was re-evaluated. Normality of data and homogeneity were tested by Shapiro–Wilk test. Paired sample t-test for within groups and independent t-test for between groups comparison were used to analyses the hypotheses (P≤0.05). Results: The results showed that there were significant differences between pre and posttest of total time, total distance, maximum velocity, LTP1, anaerobic capacity, maximum power and anaerobic capacity ratio after taping. There were no significant differences between pre and posttest in the control group. Conclusion: Taping of the quadriceps femurs muscle of active students was effective on the anaerobic muscle power and the anaerobic threshold, indicating its beneficial effects for athletic performance.

Background and Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of two types of resistance exercise training along with omega-3-6-9 supplementations on some risk factors of cardiovascular diseases. Materials and Methods: In this semi-experimental study, 60 healthy overweight young male students from Payame Noor University of Hamedan City were randomly assigned to 6 groups of 10 subjects, including circular resistance exercise+omega3-6-9 supplementation, progressive pyramidal resistance training+omega3-6-9 supplementation, circular resistance exercise+placebo, progressive pyramidal exercise+placebo, omega3-6-9 supplement and placebo. Exercise groups completed training programs for 12 weeks. Adiponectin levels and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) were measured before and after the 12-week period of physical training. Data were analyzed using paired t test, two-way ANOVA and ANCOVA. Results: Circular resistance exercise, but not progressive pyradimal exercise, with omega3-6-9 supplementation (P=0.000) and circular resistance exercise with placebo (P=0.007) resulted in significant increases in adiponectin levels, but not hsCRP levels. The difference between post-test mean values of the two types of exercise was significant for adiponectin, but not for hsCRP. The effect of supplementation on the level of hsCRP, independent of the type of exercise, was significant (P=0.031). There was no significant difference between the groups in relation to the hsCRP levels. Conclusion: Circular resistance exercise, but not progressive pyramidal, increased serum adiponectin levels independent of omega3-6-9 supplementation.
