The onset of Non Syndromic Hearing Loss (NSHL) typically occurs without any other symptoms and can vary from person to person, even within the same family. Hearing loss can be unilateral or bilateral and can range from mild to profound degrees of hearing loss. Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis (EDV) is a dermatologic condition in which patients show reduced immunologic ability to defend and eradicate certain types of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), leading to persistent infection and an increased lifetime risk of developing cutaneous dysplasia and malignancy. Both conditions have a genetic background. However, their concurrent occurrence is very rare. Therefore, a case study is presented of a four-year-old female child who visited the dermatology outpatient department with a chief complaint of hearing loss and white-coloured lesions covering her arms, neck, back, and chest for the last two years. The hearing loss was gradual, not apparent at birth, and progressed slowly to complete hearing loss. A final diagnosis of EDV with Non Syndromic Sensorineural Hearing Loss (NSSNHL) was made based on clinical and histological examination.

Background The spirochaete Treponema pallidum subsp. pallidum, which causes the infectious disease syphilis, can be spread through sexual contact or perinatal transmission. In recent years, cases of syphilis have increased, especially among individuals engaging in behaviour that makes them more vulnerable (condomless sex and multiple sexual partners). Condylomata acuminata (external genital warts) is one of the most common viral sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Individuals who are behaviourally vulnerable are also highly prone to two or more STIs. Our case exemplifies the occurrence of two STIs in a young man who was behaviourally vulnerable to acquiring STIs. Case We report a case of a 21-year-old year old heterosexual man presenting with concomitant primary syphilis and genital warts. He presented with a painless genital ulcer and warty growths on his glans penis. Examination showed a painless indurated ulcer and multiple genital warts. Serology was positive for quantitative Venereal disease research laboratory test (1:16 titre). The patient was diagnosed with two concomitant STIs. He was treated as per the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for primary syphilis and podophyllin resin for genital warts. After four weeks, the genital ulcer showed complete healing and there was a significant reduction of genital warts. Conclusions Individuals with multiple sexual partners engaging in sexual activity without the use of prevention tools are at a greater chance of acquiring two or more STIs. To reduce concomitant transmission, preventive measures against genital ulcer diseases like syphilis, herpes, and chancroid, such as early identification and treatment, and condom distribution, must be strengthened as part of national STI prevention. Patients with two or more STIs should be followed regularly to assess the progress of infection and should be offered timely medical treatment.

Background Epidermal nevus sebaceous, commonly known as the nevus sebaceous of Jadassohn, is a congenital sebaceous hamartoma. It typically manifests as a single yellowish plaque across the head and neck and is composed of sebaceous glands. It commonly occurs during infancy and grows during puberty. Usually, it follows a benign course; however, in a few cases, it can be malignant. This is the case of a 13-year-old child with verrucous plaques on the temple and scalp. Case report We report the case of a 13-year-old boy with a steadily developing hyperpigmented verrucous plaque on the scalp and ipsilateral side of his face. A dermoscopic examination revealed ridges and fissures in a cerebriform pattern with yellowish-gray globules and a papillary appearance. Physical examination and laboratory tests revealed no abnormalities. Biopsies were taken from the scalp and temple area, and the findings were consistent with the diagnosis of nevus sebaceous. The patient was referred to a plastic surgeon for a staged excision. Conclusions We describe a unique example of a sebaceous nevus that affected the scalp and ipsilateral side of the face. As this hamartomatous growth carries the risk of cancer development, a dermatologist must identify the condition and begin treatment before malignant transformation occurs. This example of multiple verrucous plaques is an exception.

Introduction: Melasma is a widely prevalent acquired condition characterised by gray-brown pigmentation with a predilection on the face, affecting the quality of life. Tranexamic Acid (TXA) has been used for managing melasma orally and topically, while mesotherapy is a well known modality in cosmetology. Need for the study: There is a paucity of literature comparing the efficacy of topical and intralesional microinjections of TXA. A novel device (Meso-Ice®) has recently been commercialised for mesotherapy, working on the principle of electroporation technology for drug diffusion, which has not yet been evaluated for managing melasma using TXA. Aim: To compare the efficacy of TXA mesotherapy using the novel device versus topical TXA in patients with melasma. Materials and Methods: This is a randomised clinical trial assessing the comparative efficacy of Group 1: Mesotherapy using the novel device with TXA injection (4 mg/mL) and Group 2: Topical TXA gel (3%) for treating melasma. The severity of melasma will be assessed using the Melasma Area and Severity Index (MASI) at baseline, four weeks, and eight weeks.
