Objective: This was a correlation study for predicting the power to improve the distance of golf players and developing an effective power program. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: The subjects of this study were 24 healthy males and females in their 20s and 30s who were golf athletes living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the immediate effect of applying self-myofascial release (SMR) to the plantar fascia using a foam roller on hamstring and lumbar spine superficial back line (SBL). Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: Thirty-one healthy adults agreed to the method and purpose of the study. Selection and exclusion criteria were screened, and baseline measurements for the Toe Touch test and passive straight leg raise (PSLR) test were obtained. The participants were then randomly assigned to the SMR group or the sham group. After group assignment, the SMR group rolled the surface of the foot from the heel to the metatarsal head using a foam roller for 5 minutes. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of selective functional movement assessment (SFMA)-based therapeutic corrective exercise on knee joint pain in a patient with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) after pregnancy. PFPS is one of the most common causes of knee pain. The present study was conducted in a 35-year-old woman with chronic PFPS following pregnancy. She was seen every other day, 3 times a week for 8 weeks. Physical therapy was performed for tight muscles and fascia in the front, rear, left, and right following mat relaxation, with use of a form roller and corrective exercises suitable for SFMA after simple manual therapy. Corrective exercises were performed with pattern assist, unload, pattern assist with load, and load, based on a 4 × 4 matrix and the patient's status and exercise capacity. For each corrective exercise, photographic materials were also provided so that the patient could carry out the corrective exercises at home. The treatment time per session was 50 minutes. Multi-Segmental Flexion showed improvement from Dysfunctional Non-painful (DN) to Functional Non-painful (FN), Multi-Segmental Extension showed improvement from DP to FN, Single Leg Stance (both right and left) showed improvement from DN to FN, and Overhead Deep Squat showed improvement from DP to FN. The Straight Leg Raising (SLR) test showed an increase on the right from 82° to 90° and from 63° to 81° on the left. The Kujala questionnaire score increased from 63 to 94. (1) Background: The cervical rotation-flexion test is one method of measuring the range of motion of the upper cervical spine, however, this test has not been investigated in detail. The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability and concurrent validity of the upper cervical rotation-flexion test. (2) Methods: Twenty-five healthy individuals (13 women and 12 men) participated in this study. The participants underwent radiography, the upper cervical flexion-extension test, and the upper cervical rotation-flexion test in a sitting position while wearing a cervical goniometer to measure the upper cervical flexion angle. Three experienced physical therapists administered the upper cervical rotation-flexion test using the cervical device, twice for each participant. Inter-rater and intra-rater reliabilities were evaluated using the intraclass correlation coefficient (95% confidence interval). (3) Results: The inter-rater and intra-rater reliability values of the total scores were excellent. The results of the upper cervical rotation-flexion test significantly correlated with those of the radiographic evaluation of the upper cervical flexion angle (r = 0.80, p &lt, 0.001) and those of the upper cervical flexion-extension test (r = 0.77, p &lt, 0.001). Significant correlations among the three test results were observed. (4) Conclusions: The findings of this study suggest that the upper cervical rotation-flexion test is meaningful for independently measuring the upper cervical flexion angle.

This study tries to investigate the functional movement of orthopedic patients with lumbar and shoulder disorders. The study subjects were 192 patients in orthopedics who were divided into the group of patients with lumbar disorders (stenosis and herniation of lumbar disk) and the group of patients with shoulder disorders (impingement syndrome and adhesive capsulitis). The functional movement test was conducted to find the difference between the two groups. In the case of lumbar disorders, out of 10 movements, cervical spinal flexion, shoulder medial rotation, shoulder lateral rotation, multi-segmental rotation, single leg stance, and over-head-deep-squat were significantly different, and the two groups had different total points. In the case of shoulder disorders, there was the significant difference only in multi-segmental flexion. Given the study results, it is effective to take into account the above movements in the course of intervening in or assessing stenosis and herniation of lumbar disk. In the future study, it will be necessary to develop an intervention program for functional movement of other disorders.
