Abstract

The product concept evaluation plays a very important role in product development. It can be considered as multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. In a MCDM problem, a decision maker has to choose the best alternative that satisfies the evaluation criteria among a set of candidate solutions. This paper introduces a compromise MCDM evaluation model which combines fuzzy DEMATEL and VIKOR methods. The criteria weights are determined based on separate cause-effect assessment of a group of experts using the fuzzy DEMATEL approach. The resulting criteria weights are applied to the decision analysis where the fuzzy VIKOR approach is adopted which determines a compromise solution by using utility weight.

Abstract

Scheduling for the flexible job shop is very important in fields of production management. To solve the multi–objective optimization in flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSP), the FJSP multi-objective optimization model is constructed. The cost, quality and time are taken as the optimization objectives. An improved strength Pareto evolutionary algorithm (SPEA2+) is put forward to optimize the multi-objective optimization model parallelly. The algorithm uses a new model of a Multi-objective genetic algorithm that includes more effective crossover and could obtain diverse solutions in the objective and variable spaces to archive the Pareto optimal sets for FJSP multi-objective optimization. Then an approach based on fuzzy set theory was developed to extract one of the Pareto-optimal solutions as the best compromise one. The optimization results were compared with those obtained by NSGA-II and POS. At last, an instance of flexible job shop scheduling problem in automotive industry is given to illustrate that the proposed method can solve the multi-objective FJSP effectively.

3. A new multi-objective ant colony algorithm for solving the disassembly line balancing problem.

Abstract

The disassembly line is the best choice for automated disassembly of disposal products. Therefore, disassembly line should be designed and balanced so that it can work as efficiently as possible. In this paper, a mathematical model for the multi-objective disassembly line balancing problem is formalized firstly. Then, a novel multi-objective ant colony optimization (MOACO) algorithm is proposed for solving this multi-objective optimization problem. Taking into account the problem constraints, a solution construction mechanism based on the method of tasks assignment is utilized in the algorithm. Additionally, niche technology is used to embed in the updating operation to search the Pareto optimal solutions. Moreover, in order to find the Pareto optimal set, the MOACO algorithm uses the concept of Pareto dominance to dynamically filter the obtained non-dominated solution set. To validate the performance of algorithm, the proposed algorithm is measured over published results obtained from single-objective optimization approaches and compared with multi-objective ACO algorithm based on uniform design. Abstract

In order to solve the complex multi-objective optimal performance design of large-scale injection molding machines, NSGA-II is used to find a much better spread of design solutions and better convergence near the true Pareto-optimal front. The combination of the design method and the injection molding machine is discussed. Screw diameter performance, stick inside distance performance, mold moving route performance and mold-locked force performance are chosen as the four main performance evaluation indexes. Some related parameters are associated to get a performance indication. And performance optimization design parameter constraints are listed to make the design solutions to have practical significance. The mathematical models of two objectives and the mathematical models of three objectives are analyzed. Finally, the instance of HTF180X1N large-scale injection molding machine is taken as an example to demonstrated that such method is effective and practical. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
