The graphene family and graphite oxide catalysts, particularly graphene oxide structures, have emerged over the past decade as a robust approach for developing common organic reactions and synthesizing heterocyclic compounds under different conditions. This review highlights the potential of using these catalysts for selective organic compounds, particularly N-heterocyclic compounds, which have numerous applications in life and material science. This article also provides an overview of different graphene oxide catalytic structures based on Fe, Cu, Mn, Pd, Ni, Co, Si, and Al for synthesizing N-heterocyclic compounds. Catalyst attributes include recyclability, effectiveness, catalyst lifespan, lack of catalyst nanoparticle mass, and the required time for catalyst effects on the reactions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
