The article discusses the status of store brand sauces and marinades in the U.S. as of 2010. Dollar and unit sales in the private label fish/seafood/cocktail sauce category increased by 17.1% and 14.9%, respectively, during a 52-week period ending June 12. The biggest growth in the sauce and marinades category is enjoyed by premium and super-premium items as consumers want a great meal at a cost lower than restaurant meals, according to Victoria Packing Corp. private label director Brad Denis. The importance of developing brand loyalty is tackled.
