- Abstract
The subject of the article is the original sin, the sin of the first people - Adam and Eve - in the Orthodox tradition called the fall, corruption or most often the sin of the first parents. This fateful event, which took place at the dawn of human history, brought about repercussions that humanity still feels today. Over the centuries, the concept of the fall of Adam and Eve has given rise to many different concepts. The article deals with the concept of original sin according to the teaching of the Orthodox Church and presents the views of the Fathers of the Church and church writers on the act of creation of man, the state of man before the fall and the characteristics of the created human nature. Man created in the image and likeness of God failed to achieve the intended goal, which was divinization, which ultimately led to the fall. The fall brought about the mortality of man, which in turn gave all mankind the certain consequences of original sin itself. This has given rise to polemics over the centuries. Unlike the views of Western theologians such as St. Augustine, the creator of the doctrine of the heredity of original sin, Christian east according to Church Fathers as well as contemporary theologians has always held the position that the sin of the first parents is a personal sin of Adam and Eve, and their descendants only inherit its effects. The purpose of this paper is to show a different concept on the fall of the first people and to present an alternative point of view on the state of man after the fall, as well as to explain the discrepancies, among others, regarding the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is not recognized by the Orthodox Church. PHILOSOPHERS , *POPES , *RELIGIONS , *AMBIGUITY , *THOMISM , *SPIRITUALITY - Abstract
This article is an attempt to isolate and describe the philosophical aspects of Pope Francis's theory of ecological spirituality and compare them with Thomistic thought, as developed by Polish philosophers in modern times. This is something philosophers have already noticed, because this type of spirituality is about man's relationship with the most generally understood reality, i.e. himself, nature, culture and religion. Our examination of both positions will reveal numerous analogies as well as some differences in their understanding of nature, the human person, culture (ethics) and religion, which at least partly can be explained by the ambiguity of some papal formulations. PHILOSOPHERS , *PHILOSOPHICAL anthropology , *METAPHYSICS , *VISION , *CULTURE , *SUBJECTIVITY , *EXISTENTIALISM - Abstract
This article addresses the contemporary challenge to the modern vision of man as a subject. It shows that this kind of thinking has become a postmodern dominant view, and by taking into account several philosophical accounts it explains how one should understand the idea of the „death of a man" and what its consequences are. In the first part, the author shows that the modern creation of the subject for a particular kind of sovereign, that is the ruler of himself and the world, consequently leads to his own „death". The author argues that the death of such a subject has in a way been provoked by the very advocates of subjectivity and their idea of the deification of the subject, making him absolutely independent, autonomous, uninhibited. In the second part of the paper, the author explains what is entailed by the postmodern idea of the "death of a man" with reference to philosophers such as Nietzsche, Heidegger, Sartre, Derrida, and Foucault. He argues that each of these philosophers, by abandoning metaphysics and questioning the modern understanding of subjectivity, proposes the vision of a man who ceases to be „jakis", somehow determined, permanently present, defined. According to such a view, man becomes instead completely undefined. Lastly, the author shows following Foucault the essential features of the culture in which we live as the result of accepting certain postmodern assumptions when thinking about man. Hence, he speaks of a „nondialectic culture", „the culture of good functioning" and the „culture of resistance". [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The article presents the concept of integral Catholic anthropology with ecological elements. The source of the truth about man is Revelation and the teaching of the Church. Catholic anthropology also benefits from the achievements of modern science and is also open to ecological dialogue. Both reason and faith must be used in the search for truth. Man was created as a personal entity; therefore his task is to manage creation responsibly. Man is for himself a gift received from God and must therefore respect the natural and moral structure with he is equipped. The human person is capable of establishing personal relationships and this allows him to believe in God and to live in friendship with people and with all of creation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

STUDENTS , *POLISH language , *REQUIREMENTS engineering , *THEMES in literature - Abstract
Aim of the research. An attempt to discover how the literature of former eras is perceived by first-year high school pupils, and to use the information obtained to improve the teaching the Polish language. Methodology. The basis for the diagnosis was the results of a survey among first-year high school pupils in Wielkopolska at the end of the 2017-8 school year. The analysis of the material obtained was preceded by a diagnosis of the presence of the literature itself in the program requirements for the first class, as well as an analysis of the requirements set by the "new" high school diploma. The last stage of considerations, based on the results of students' surveys, was formulated from the perspective of the possibilities of an anthropological and cultural approach to the school literature of former eras. Results. Analysis of the students' responses has shown that the literature is not a frequent reference point for students finishing their first year of high school. Information gathered during the year-long study on the subject of the Polish language oscillate between the issues of visuality of the era and individual preferences. However, they are not directly connected with the subject. They are closer to the student reception of popular culture or general associations, which make it impossible to positively assess pupil competence in the reception and understanding of literary epochs. Conclusion. The anthropological view of student reflections allows for the preliminary development of working methods which postpone old tests beyond the space of obligatory content preceding "real" literary lessons. On the contrary, the life of a man of ancient times, entangled in his culture, is not strictly distant from student experience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PHILOSOPHY , *HUMAN behavior , *GOD , *INCARNATION , *REVELATION , *GOODNESS of God , *THEODICY - Abstract
The Old Testament reveals the truth about God's creation of everything from nothing. Christianity has accepted this revelation and Christian thinkers have further developed this concept. The Christian Neoplatonist Eriugena, in particular, considered the creation and nothingness out of which God made everything. Interpreting the biblical description of creation in the context of his own philosophical system, Eriugena came to the conclusion that nothingness is the perfect fullness of the goodness of God, who created all the qualities of human nature. A perfect creature was created in a perfect man. The error resulting from an unreasonable choice caused man to get rid of perfection and exist in an imperfect form. The concept of creating everything from nothing in a human being seems to be a prelude to Eriugena's reflections on the incarnation of the eternal Logos - the Word - God the Son, which makes it possible to return to the state of perfection. Wydział Teologii, Instytut Nauk Teologicznych; promotor rozprawy doktorskiej: ks. prof. dr hab. Waldemar Pałęcki Dysertacja dotyczy potrzeby relacji pomiędzy nauką a wiarą (zwłaszcza w jej wymiarze doktrynalnym). The dissertation concerns the need to redefine the relationship between science and faith (esp. in its doctrinal dimension). Based on the fundamental correlation of lex credendi and lex orandi, from the perspective of the Church, one should look for new references to faith, broaden the spectrum of its justifications, etc. not only in philosophy, but also in the natural sciences. There is a group of overlapping issues, significant (in terms of cognition and practicality) for man (as an individual and community), which is a common object of research or various references for the natural theological (dogmatic) and liturgy sciences. The main subject of analysis is the divine work of salvation carried out by God through Christ, perceived through the prism of natural sciences, theology and liturgy. The main goal is to search for common points and overlapping issues. Identification of potential synergy points, transdisciplinary explanation of the changes and events taking place, capturing the areas allowing for natural and theological dialogue, diagnosing the liturgical scale of the reception of the divine salvific work, important for the transmission of faith.

At the center of Iavors’kyi’s interest is man in his relation to God, the world, nature and fate. The starting point is the Aristotelian concept of man imagined under the form of microcosm and macrocosm perceived as a thinking and exalted being, created in the image and likeness of God, which, however, has a defective, transient and sinful nature. Because of his flawed nature, man does not decide his own fate, so on earth, he cannot experience happiness. Happiness, based on the notion of infinity, immortality, irreversibility and inner peace (passionlessness), is only available in heaven, according to the author. In response to this paradox, the preacher combines the theology of happiness with the theology of salvation, and develops a theory of good and “active” life, according to which man will be able to overcome obstacles, gain influence over his own destiny and achieve partial happiness in mortality and full happiness in heaven., W centrum zainteresowania Jaworskiego stoi człowiek w swojej relacji do Boga, świata, natury, losu.

42. Antropologiczny aspekt modlitwy chrześcijańskiej

dydaktyka modlitwy ,Modlitwa chrześcijańska ,man ,Christian prayer ,didactics of prayer ,człowiek - Abstract
Można rozpatrywać modlitwę z Bożej i ludzkiej perspektywy. Oto pytania problemowe wyrażające antropologiczny aspekt modlitwy chrześcijańskiej., The article presents the anthropological aspect (point of view) of Christian prayer. It is about looking at prayer from the perspective of man, a psychophysical-spiritual being leaning to-wards God, and having an insight into the human form of prayer. You can consider prayer from both God’s and human perspectives as there is an inseparable connection between the praying person and God. The apostle of nations recommends to Christians a “radical turn” towards God, thanks to the help of the Holy Spirit (Rom 8, 26b-27). It is necessary to convert and admit that man actually cannot pray, and even when he does, it is only possible out of the help and in the power of God Himself. Where should man look for a source of true prayer? What should be the attitude of the praying person? What can be today’s “primer of prayer”? These are the problem questions expressing the anthropological aspect of Christian prayer.

Gen 1–2 ,man ,płeć ,Philosophy. Psychology. Religion ,lcsh:B ,Religious studies ,sex ,lcsh:Philosophy. Psychology. Religion ,mężczyzna i kobieta ,man and woman ,człowiek ,Rdz 1–2 - Abstract
The article discusses the two descriptions of the creation of man (Gen chap. 1 and chap. 2-3). In analyzing these verses, emphasis is placed on the fact that both descriptions stress that humankind was created as man and woman. The dual-gender nature of mankind is evoked in the two passages in the biological and religious dimensions (Gen 1:26-28) as well as the social (Gen 2:18-25). The two sexes are equal to each other in each of these aspects. People fully achieve their calling to live and cooperate with God only as a man and a woman. One’s ability to establish relationships is most fully expressed only within the sexual diversity of our species. This occurs in the biological dimension (fertility enabling us to subdue the earth) as well as the intellectual and spiritual (woman as the “suitable helper”).
