Background: Annual breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is highly recommended to assist mammography for women at high risk of breast cancer (BC). This study explored the knowledge, attitude, and willingness toward breast MRI screening among women at high risk of BC., Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled women at high risk of BC between August 2022 and January 2023 in Beijing, China. A structural equation model (SEM) was used to analyze the relationships among knowledge, attitude, and willingness., Results: A total of 596 questionnaires were collected, and 412 questionnaires (69.13%) were valid. The women's knowledge and attitude scores were 7.75 ± 2.79 (possible range: 0-12) and 48.53 ± 6.31 (possible range: 13-65). Among the women, 297 (72.09%) were willing to undergo regular breast MRI screening. The SEM showed that knowledge had direct effect on attitude [β = 0.77, 95% CI: (0.57, 0.98), P < 0.001], the attitude had direct effect on willingness [β = 0.02, 95% CI: (0.01, 0.02), P < 0.001], knowledge had an indirect effect on willingness through attitude [β = 0.01, 95% CI: (0.01,0.02), P < 0.001], and the direct effect of knowledge on practice was not significant., Conclusions: The women at high risk of BC had insufficient knowledge and a relatively positive attitude toward breast MRI screening. Most of them were willing to undergo regular breast MRI screening. Advertising and public health education programs should be designed to improve their knowledge and attitude, therefore improving their willingness and practice., (© 2024. The Author(s).)

Background: Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a clinically heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder defined by characteristic behavioral and cognitive features. Abnormal brain dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) has been associated with the disorder. The full spectrum of ADHD-related variation of brain dynamics and its association with behavioral and cognitive features remain to be established., Methods: We sought to identify patterns of brain dynamics linked to specific behavioral and cognitive dimensions using sparse canonical correlation analysis across a cohort of children with and without ADHD (122 children in total, 63 with ADHD). Then, using mediation analysis, we tested the hypothesis that cognitive deficits mediate the relationship between brain dynamics and ADHD-associated behaviors., Results: We identified four distinct patterns of dFC, each corresponding to a specific dimension of behavioral or cognitive function ( r = 0.811-0.879). Specifically, the inattention/hyperactivity dimension was positively associated with dFC within the default mode network (DMN) and negatively associated with dFC between DMN and the sensorimotor network (SMN); the somatization dimension was positively associated with dFC within DMN and SMN; the inhibition and flexibility dimension and fluency and memory dimensions were both positively associated with dFC within DMN and between DMN and SMN, and negatively associated with dFC between DMN and the fronto-parietal network. Furthermore, we observed that cognitive functions of inhibition and flexibility mediated the relationship between brain dynamics and behavioral manifestations of inattention and hyperactivity., Conclusions: These findings document the importance of distinct patterns of dynamic functional brain activity for different cardinal behavioral and cognitive features related to ADHD.

Background Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and schizophrenia have distinct but also overlapping symptoms. Few studies have examined the shared and disorder-specific disturbances in dynamic brain function in the 2 disorders. Study Design Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data of 31 patients with OCD and 49 patients with schizophrenia, all untreated, and 45 healthy controls (HCs) were analyzed using spatial group independent component (IC) analysis. Time-varying degree centrality patterns across the whole brain were clustered into 3 reoccurring states, and state transition metrics were obtained. We further explored regional temporal variability of degree centrality for each IC across all time windows. Study Results Patients with OCD and patients with schizophrenia both showed decreased occurrence of a state having the highest centrality in the sensorimotor and auditory networks. Additionally, patients with OCD and patients with schizophrenia both exhibited reduced dynamics of degree centrality in the superior frontal gyrus than controls, while dynamic degree centrality of the cerebellum was lower in patients with schizophrenia than with OCD and HCs. Altered dynamics of degree centrality nominally correlated with symptom severity in both patient groups. Conclusions Our study provides evidence of transdiagnostic and clinically relevant functional brain abnormalities across OCD and schizophrenia in neocortex, as well as functional dynamic alterations in the cerebellum specific to schizophrenia. These findings add to the recognition of overlap in neocortical alterations in the 2 disorders, and indicate that cerebellar alterations in schizophrenia may be specifically important in schizophrenia pathophysiology via impact on cerebellar thalamocortical circuitry. Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is a debilitating and disabling neuropsychiatric disorder, whose neurobiological basis remains unclear. Although traditional static resting‐state magnetic resonance imaging (rfMRI) studies have found aberrant functional connectivity (FC) in OCD, alterations in whole‐brain FC and topological properties in the context of brain dynamics remain relatively unexplored. The rfMRI data of 29 patients with OCD and 40 healthy controls were analyzed using group independent component analysis to obtain independent components (ICs) and a sliding‐window approach to generate dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) matrices. dFC patterns were clustered into three reoccurring states, and state transition metrics were obtained. Then, graph‐theory methods were applied to dFC matrices to calculate the variability of network topological organization. The occurrence of a state (State 1) with the highest modularity index and lowest mean FC between networks was increased significantly in OCD, and the fractional time in brain State 1 was positively correlated with anxiety level in patients. State 1 was characterized by having positive connections within default mode (DMN) and salience networks (SAN), and negative coupling between the two networks. Additionally, ICs belonging to DMN and SAN showed lower temporal variability of nodal degree centrality and efficiency in patients, which was related to longer illness duration and higher current obsession ratings. Our results provide evidence of clinically relevant aberrant dynamic brain activity in OCD. Increased functional segregation among networks and impaired functional flexibility in connections among brain regions in DMN and SAN may play important roles in the neuropathology of OCD. Background: The diversity in definitions for the rectosigmoid junction is becoming a major obstacle in standardizing optimal treatment of rectal cancers. The study aimed to determine the average distance of the sigmoid take-off from the anal verge and its association with individual factors.Materials and Methods: Patients diagnosed with rectal and sigmoid colon cancer in our centre from January 2010 to December 2018 were retrospectively enrolled in the cancer group. The results of 200 controls without colorectal disease were also reviewed (normal group). The distance of different landmarks and margins of cancer from the anal verge were retrieved from computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and endoscopy findings.Results: The cancer group comprised 635 patients (381 men, median age: 64 years). The average distances of the sigmoid take-off from the anal verge measured in CT and MRI were comparable (P = 0.483). On MRI, the average distance of the sigmoid take-off from the anal verge in the cancer group was comparable with that of the normal group (P = 0.070). Multivariate regression revealed that the distance of the sigmoid take-off from the anal verge was associated with the distances of the sacral promontory (P < 0.001) and peritoneal reflection (P < 0.001) from the anal verge.Conclusion: The cancer distributions of patients varied widely with the application of different definitions. The point of sigmoid take-off is an intuitive landmark influenced by individual factors. The measurement of the sigmoid take-off by different researchers in both CT and MRI revealed good consistency. Introduction: About 50% of patients with non‐small cell lung cancers (NSCLC) are diagnosed with brain metastases during treatment, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is an important treatment for brain oligometastasis. Some patients with brain metastases have cerebral edema before treatment, and radiation therapy may also cause, or aggravate brain edema. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) promotes angiogenesis and increase vascular permeability, and previous studies have shown that anti‐VEGF treatment can reduce brain edema. We hypothesized that anlotinib hydrochloride can reduce perilesional edema around brain metastases, create conditions for subsequent SRS, increase local control rate and improve patient prognosis. Methods: From one week before stereotactic radiosurgery, patients begin to receive anlotinib once a day (12 mg) from day 1–14 of a 21 day cycle, with two cycles in total. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan is taken before treatment, one week and one month after medication. A total of 50 patients will be included in this study. The primary endpoint is the Edema Index, and the secondary endpoints are intracranial objective response rate (iORR), intracranial progression‐free survival (iPFS), objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), progression‐free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), safety, and the rate of SRS after anlotinib treatment. Discussion: This study is a multicenter, prospective, single‐arm, phase II clinical study, and explores the efficacy and tolerability of SRS with anlotinib in NSCLC patients with limited brain metastases.
