This study aimed to investigate LEED, BREEAM, Green Star, and CASBEE certification systems and assess their integration potential with BIM as facilitator to test different project alternatives in order to help achieve certification system requirements. A literature review was conducted, in which 299 articles were retrieved from the Scopus and Web of Science databases and refined using the Bibliometrix tool, resulting in a total of 271 published articles. Of these, 15 used tools to facilitate BIM-LEED integration and were therefore selected for analysis. The results indicate that integrating BIM and green building rating systems can make the process more agile and standardized. However, more research in this field is needed, especially investigating the suitability of BIM authoring tools other than Revit, and evaluating the efficiency of commercial tools and those developed in scientific research to assist in the certification process. This article presents a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production around the epistemic injustice construct in the period 1998–2023. The data to perform the analysis was retrieved from the Scopus and Web of Science databases, and its analysis tool was used to obtain the bibliometric indicators. As part of the analysis, the most relevant authors, the journals with the greatest impact, the countries with the greatest scientific production, and the areas where the subject has had a broader development are presented. In addition, a review of the articles with the greatest impact on scientific production under this theme is included. Gliosarcomas (GS) are sporadic malignant tumors classified as a Glioblastoma (GBM) variant with IDH-wild type phenotype. It appears as a well-circumscribed lesion with a biphasic, glial, and metaplastic mesenchymal component. The current knowledge about GS comes from the limited literature. Furthermore, recent studies describe peculiar characteristics of GS, such as hypothesizing that it could be a clinical–pathological entity different from GBM. Here, we review radiological, biomolecular, and clinical data to describe the peculiar characteristics of PGS, treatment options, and outcomes in light of the most recent literature. A comprehensive literature review of PubMed and Web of Science databases was conducted for articles written in English focused on gliosarcoma until 2023. We include relevant data from a few case series and only a single meta-analysis. Recent evidence describes peculiar characteristics of PGS, suggesting that it might be a specific clinical–pathological entity different from GBM. This review facilitates our understanding of this rare malignant brain tumor. However, in the future we recommend multi-center studies and large-scale metanalyses to clarify the biomolecular pathways of PGS to develop new specific therapeutic protocols, different from conventional GBM therapy in light of the new therapeutic opportunities. The aim of the current review is focused on compiling a comprehensive overview of the zirconia surface modification for implant interface osseointegration. Background: During the past few decades, the importance of osseointegration for patients has significantly increased, and this importance has been reflected in a sharp growth in the number of relevant items and treatments in that field of implant dentistry, as well as a parallel rise in publications on the subject. The search has been conducted through various databases including Cochrane, Web of Science databases, and Google Scholar, and Ovid Medline, on the given topic. The preferred method of zirconia surface treatment and its effect on osseointegration are briefly reviewed in this article in order to provide a concise summary of the current scientific and clinical viewpoints. Zirconia surface treatment is controversial topic in terms of surface treatment. Surface bio-inertness of zirconia implants result in limited osseointegration compared to titanium implants. The configuration factor (C-factor) is an index used to evaluate the relationship between cavity configuration and the development of polymerization shrinkage stress in dental restorations. Although C-factor has been widely researched, its correlation with stress analysis in dental restorations remains controversial. This review aims to discuss the application and limitations of C-factor and define the restricted conditions under which the C-factor "rule of thumb" is applicable. A thorough literature review was conducted on the application and limitations of C-factor in stress analysis of dental restorations. This was principally based on MEDLINE/PubMed and Web of Science databases and a review of the relevant studies and publications in scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals for the specific topic of C-factor and polymerization shrinkage. The C-factor alone cannot provide an accurate prediction of the shrinkage stress of restorations and the mechanical behavior of material-tooth interfaces. C-factor is only applicable under one condition not typically seen in clinical practice: low, near-rigid compliance. Conditions for the application of C-factor have been explicitly defined. A more accurate and precise understanding and utilization of the C-factor is of benefit as it contributes to better understanding of polymerization shrinkage behavior of restorations. Objective: This systematic review aimed to investigate the association between dietary inflammatory potential and liver cancer to provide evidence regarding scientific dietary health education. Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis. Setting: A comprehensive literature review was conducted to identify case–control or cohort studies that involved dietary inflammation index (DII)/empirical dietary inflammation pattern (EDIP) and liver cancer in PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases. Using a combination of DII/EDIP and liver cancer as the search terms, the associations between DII/EDIP and liver cancer were then assessed. Participants: Three case–control studies and two cohort studies were brought into the meta-analysis, with 225 713 enrolled participants. Results: Meta-analysis of categorical variables showed that DII/EDIP in the highest category increased the risk of liver cancer compared to DII/EDIP in the lowest category (relative risk (RR) = 2·35; 95 % CI 1·77, 3·13; P = 0·000) and with low heterogeneity across studies (I2 = 40·8 %, P = 0·119). Meta-analysis of continuous variables showed that significant positive association between liver cancer and DII/EDIP scores (RR = 1·24; 95 % CI 1·09, 1·40; P = 0·001), and no heterogeneity (I² = 0·0 %, P = 0·471). Stratified according to the study design, there was a significant positive association between liver cancer and DII/EDIP scores in both cohort studies (RR = 2·16; 95 % CI 1·51, 3·07; P = 0·000) and case–control studies (RR = 2·75; 95 % CI 1·71, 4·41; P = 0·000). This study reviews how empathy and its role are conceptualised in entrepreneurial and engineering literature. Our findings can then be used as a foundation for developing contextual and theoretical models of empathy for entrepreneurial engineering. These models will help create teaching practices and approaches to prepare empathic entrepreneurial engineers. The study deployed a systematic literature review of 40 papers from engineering and entrepreneurship fields, obtained from the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The analysis involved three phases. First, a descriptive analysis of research on empathy in entrepreneurship and engineering was completed, followed by a content analysis focusing on definitions and the role of the empathy phenomenon and a co-citation analysis to identify commonly cited authors. The results of this literature review demonstrate different indicators that reflect the current state of empathy research and study trajectories of this phenomenon in the fields of engineering and entrepreneurship. These indicators include the number of papers related to empathy in engineering and entrepreneurship literature by year of publication, definitions of empathy and keywords used in analysed literature as well as list of authors and their area of interests within empathy research. Background: Mucinous cystic neoplasms of the liver (MCN-L) including biliary cystadenomas (BCA) and biliary cystadenocarcinomas (BCAC) are rare cystic lesions that comprise less than 5% of all liver cysts and affect only a small subset of individuals. We herein review the current evidence regarding the clinical presentation, imaging characteristics, tumor markers, pathological findings, clinical management, and prognosis of MCN-L. Methods: A comprehensive review of the literature was performed using MEDLINE/Pubmed and Web of Science databases. In PubMed, the terms "biliary cystadenoma," "biliary cystadenocarcinoma," and "non parasitic hepatic cysts" were queried to identify the most recent data on MCN-L. Results: US imaging, CT, and MRI, as well as consideration of clinicopathological features, are required to appropriately characterize and diagnose hepatic cystic tumors. BCA are premalignant lesions and cannot be reliably differentiated from BCAC based on imaging alone. As such, both types of lesions should be treated with margin-negative surgical resection. Following surgical resection, recurrence is fairly low among patients with BCA and BCAC. Despite having worse long-term outcomes than BCA, the prognosis following surgical resection of BCAC still remains more favorable than other primary malignant liver tumors. Conclusion: MCN-L are rare cystic liver tumors that include BCA and BCAC, which can be difficult to differentiate based on imaging alone. Surgical resection remains the mainstay of management for MCN-L with recurrence being generally uncommon. Research background: Job crafting based on individual initiative represents a new form of work design, supporting stability in increasing work performance. In many cases, this method proves to be an effective way of increasing employees' work engagement, mainly because of the mediated autonomy in their work performance and the greater meaningfulness that results from it. The basis of job crafting is employee support, which initiates working behavior focused on proactivity in creating and adapting work to the subjective requirements of the employee's individuality. The available literature highlights various approaches that mediate individual topics, with which companies try to stimulate employee behavior, the expected result of which is job crafting, which leads to an increase in work performance. Purpose of the article: The goal of the study is to identify current research directions in the field of job crafting, specifically in relation to increasing work performance. Methods: The Web of Science database was used to identify the main directions of research in the relevant literature. Research was directed at peer-reviewed articles published in journals indexed in SSCI as Q1 and Q2. The resulting number of articles was identified based on the PRISMA selection method. Findings & value added: By analyzing the literary sources, we have identified 4 important research topics that the authors of the scientific articles addressed. The most widespread topic was work engagement and its influence on job crafting. In the second topic, the authors addressed the issue of how job crafting supports the meaningfulness of work. The third research topic that the authors addressed was job crafting as a factor of employee autonomy. The fourth theme identified was the influence of leadership and management support on jobcrafting behavior. The paper offers the reader a systematic and clear list of available quality resources that can help them in their personal research related to job crafting and work performance. The work analyses and evaluates the results of research work carried out so far in the field of rainwater management in urban areas in Poland. Using the "biblioshiny" tool, a bibliometric analysis was carried out based on queries to the Scopus and Web of Science databases. As a result, information was obtained on selected bibliometric statistics of scientific publications in which the topic of rainwater in Poland was taken up. The probable direction of further research development in the field of the analysed issues was also determined. In addition, after a detailed review of all the articles obtained at the earlier stage of the bibliometric analysis, the main research contexts were indicated and discussed. This article analyzes the studies on energy poverty and its measurement between 2004 and 2022. A search of the Web of Science database with the keyword "energy poverty measurement" yielded 195 articles, among which 69 articles were found. In the study, first of all, information about the definition of energy poverty, the problems it causes and its determining criteria. In the next step, other determinants of energy poverty are explained with the help of graphs and tables. In the methodology section, the articles are analyzed in detail according to the economic development of the countries and the measurement models used. In this article, we provide a review of research that explores the extensive history of wildfires across Europe, focusing specifically on Romania's territory. Lakes and peatlands serve as ideal sources for reconstructing charcoal fluxes resulting from vegetation burning. These natural resources are extremely sensitive to local environmental changes, and the deposition of allochthonous material is exclusively atmospheric. The analysis of macro-charcoal is the primary method for reconstructing local and regional wildfires. This article aims to emphasize the significant studies on paleofires, and the processing and identification methods of macroscopic charcoal particles, which include charcoal number, morphology, and CharAnalysis. The review of scientific achievements in Europe and Romania provides valuable insights into these methods. We aim to investigate the potential of modern international paleofire databases, such as the Global Charcoal Database and Reading Palaeofire Database, which provide updated information on local and regional paleofire occurrences during the Holocene period. We will also make use of software tools that generate maps based on network data, such as VOSviewer Bibliometric Analysis, to visualize and study the wildfire in Romania. Furthermore, we will analyze the publications related to this topic that are available in the Web of Science database. We analyzed the results of paleofire studies in Europe and Romania to determine the primary research directions linked to fire reconstruction. Our review revealed that most of the study sites in Romania are in the Carpathians, particularly at higher elevations, followed by mid-elevation areas. Background: Radioembolization (RE) with 90Yttrium (Y90) has generally been used to treat patients with advanced disease. Recent data suggest, however, that RE is also safe and feasible to treat patients with early or intermediate stage disease. We herein review the current evidence regarding the use of RE with Y90 for patients with HCC. Methods: A comprehensive review of the literature was performed using MEDLINE/PubMed and Web of Science databases with a search end date of August 1, 2022. Results: Patients with HCC are often treated according to the BCLC staging system. Among patients with early-stage HCC (BCLC A), intermediate-stage HCC (BCLC B), and advanced-stage HCC (BCLC C), RE with Y90 has demonstrated promising results with comparable overall survival, time to disease progression, and radiological response compared with other standard of care treatment modalities. Moreover, Y90 RE can be used as a downstaging treatment modality for patients with advanced HCC who have a disease burden that is initially outside LT criteria. Radiation lobectomy (RL) has been described as a treatment modality with the intent of treating the ipsilateral liver that harbors the HCC, while also causing compensatory hypertrophy of the future liver remnant (FLR). Conclusion: While initially considered as a palliative option for HCC patients, Y90 RE has emerged as an important part of the multi-modality care of patients with HCC across a wide spectrum of clinical indications. The study examines the concepts of performance, performance measurement and evaluation, which are important phenomenon for every business. First, a literature review is conducted using the Web of Science database. Then, the concepts of performance, performance measurement and evaluation are examined theoretically; and performance evaluation approaches are discussed. As a result of the literature review, 360-degree performance evaluation system, which is one of the modern methods that has not found many places in the business administration literature, is examined in detail, and a general framework is tried to be formed on the subject. Consequently, it is determined that 360-degree performance evaluation system cannot provide a single handed and direct solution to performance problems. However, when the system is carefully prepared and applied correctly, it moves away from the tendency of firms to see the individual as a mechanical production material, which is caused by classical performance evaluation methods, and leads them to the tendency to see them as "human". The transport sector plays an important role in society at large. This article aimed to provide a state-of-the-art literature review in the area of sustainable transport. Data for the analysis were collected from the Web of Science database from 2000 to 2022. A total of 1238 bibliometric records of publications were collected. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were undertaken in the article. The analysis results showed five main research areas: 1—sustainable urban/public transport and mobility; 2—transport emissions and fuels; 3—sustainable supply chain/logistics management models; 4—performance and metrics in sustainable transport; and 5—future and policy. The limitations of the research carried out, which mainly concern the methodological section, should also be borne in mind. Background: Gastric lymphangioma is one of the highly rare benign tumors characterized by multilocular or unilocular lymphatic spaces. Herein, we report a case of lymphangioma in the gastric antrum.Case Presentation: A 77-year-old male patient who had been experiencing epigastric discomfort for a year was presented to our hospital. A gastric subepithelial lesion was diagnosed by upper endoscopy and was entirely excised via diatal subtotal gastrectomy. Endoscopic ultrasonography revealed an echoless homogenous echo pattern in the third wall layer. A lymphangioma was diagnosed by pathologic investigation of the resected specimen. The PubMed, Embase and Web of Science databases were reviewed for literature in English while using the keywords of "gastric lymphangioma" or "lymphangioma of stomach" or "gastric lymphatic cyst" or "lymphatic cyst of stomach" and the results were discussed.Conclusion: Gastric lymphangioma is a rarely occurring submucosal tumor that should be considered when diagnosing subepithelial lesions in the stomach. Objective: Health inequities such as chronic disease are significantly higher among individuals living with disadvantage compared with the general population and many are reported to be attributable to preventable dietary risk factors. This study provides an overview of the current nutrition interventions for individuals living with extreme disadvantage, in supported residential settings, to develop insights into the development and implementation of policies and practices to promote long-term nutritional health and well-being.Design: A scoping review searched Scopus, ProQuest, CINAHL Plus, MEDLINE, and Web of Science databases using the terms 'resident', 'nutrition', 'disadvantage', 'intervention' and their synonyms, with particular emphasis on interventions in residential settings.Setting: Residential services providing nutrition provision and support.Participants: People experiencing extreme disadvantage.Results: From 5262 articles, seven were included in final synthesis. Most interventions focused on building food literacy knowledge and skills. Study designs and outcome measures varied; however, all reported descriptive improvements in behaviour and motivation. In addition to food literacy, it was suggested that interventions need to address behaviour and motivations, programme sustainability, long-term social, physical and economic barriers and provide support for participants during transition into independent living. Socio-economic issues remain key barriers to long-term health and well-being.Conclusions: In addition to food literacy education, future research and interventions should consider utilising an academic-community partnership, addressing nutrition-related mental health challenges, motivation and behaviour change and a phased approach to improve support for individuals transitioning into independent living. Digital transformation has recently introduced itself as a groundbreaking phenomenon with profound impacts on societies, industries, businesses, and even individuals. Accordingly, several studies have attempted to give a literature review or analysis of digital transformation research during the last few years. However, most of them are domain-specific studies based on small data samples or subjective review methods, so we lack a general and robust understanding of the landscape of this field of research across different disciplines and domains. Taking a step toward filling this gap, the current study aims to shape an overall and reliable picture of the research realm on digital transformation. To the aim, a computational method namely topic modeling was applied to two big texts, one of which includes all digital transformation-related publications that were indexed in well-known Scopus and Web of Science databases (8639 documents), and the other one only contains studies that were published by high-quality JCR journals (1264 documents). As a result, 20 and 13 topics were respectively introduced as the underlying themes of the global trends and core knowledge in digital transformation research along with their temporal evolutionary paths throughout the recent years. Also, by comparing these two groups of topics, it was known that there are nine developing trends in this field of research that require more attention and advancements to establish themselves as the core knowledge of the field. Complementing the contributions of previous domain-specific or subjective reviews on digital transformation, this study tries to favor a better understanding of this scholarship through multidisciplinary and multidimensional analyses of digital transformation-related publications by using the topic modeling approach. Purpose: Although distraction-based growing rods (GR) are the gold standard for the treatment of early onset scoliosis, they suffer from high failure rates. We have (1) performed a literature search to understand the deficiencies of the current protocols, (2) in vitro evaluation of GRs using our proposed protocol and performed a finite element (FE) model validation, and (3) identified key features which should be considered in mechanical testing setups. Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases were searched for articles published on (a) in vivo animal, in vitro cadaveric, and biomechanical studies analyzing the use of GRs as well as (b) failure mechanisms and risk factors for GRs. Both FE and benchtop models of a proposed TGR test construct were developed and evaluated for two cases, long tandem connectors (LT), and side-by-side connectors (SBS). The test construct consisted of five polymer blocks representing vertebral bodies, joined with springs to simulate spinal stiffness. The superior and inferior blocks accepted the pedicle screw anchors, while the three middle blocks were floating. After the pedicle screws, rods, and connectors were assembled onto this construct, distraction was performed, mimicking scoliosis surgery. The resulting distracted constructs were then subjected to static compression-bending loading. Yield load and stiffness were calculated and used to verify/validate the FE results. Results: From the literature search, key features identified as significant were axial and transverse connectors, contoured rods, and distraction, distraction being the most challenging feature to incorporate in testing. The in silico analyses, once they are validated, can be used as a complementing technique to investigate other anatomical features which are not possible in the mechanical setup (like growth/scoliosis curvature). Based on our experiment, the LT constructs showed higher stiffness and yield load compared to SBS (78.85 N/mm vs. 59.68 N/mm and 838.84 N vs. 623.3 N). The FE predictions were in agreement with the experimental outcomes (within 10% difference). The maximum von Mises stresses were predicted adjacent to the distraction site, consistent with the location of observed failures in vivo. Geological heritage represents and brings together geological elements of great local and global relevance. It also promotes conservation and sustainable use. This study aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of the contributions that address the topics of geological heritage and geosites, using the Scopus and Web of Science databases for the knowledge of trends and research focuses in this area. The methodology consists of: (i) the preparation of the idea and gathering information from a search on the subjects of interest (geoheritage and geosites); (ii) the merging of the databases and applying automated conversions; and (iii) the analysis of the results and the literature review. The first phase of the work identified 2409 and 1635 documents indexed in Scopus and WoS, respectively. The merged global database (2565 documents) identified the following words as analysis topics: geoconservation, geotourism, geopark, and geodiversity. The analysis also revealed the top five countries in scientific contributions as Italy (12.1%), Spain (8.77%), China (5.67%), Portugal (5.35%), and Brazil (5.31%). Finally, most of the publications focus on the characterisation, assessment, and development of geosite initiatives. The main lines of action and contributions to the topics (7.91%) highlight the fact that geoscientists worldwide value geosites for geoconservation and geotourism strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective. To investigate association of incidence between pancreatic adipose infiltration and metabolic syndrome (METS). Methods. We searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases up to July 2021. We compared incidence rate of METS between adults with and without pancreatic adipose infiltration, along with their clinical features, such as fasting blood glucose (FBG), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and hypertension (HTN). Cross-sectional study, cohort study, and case control study were included. Two investigators independently completed study selection, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment. Results. Eleven eligible studies that involved 17,127 patients were included, including 8 cross-sectional studies, 2 cohort studies, and 1 case control study. There was a trend of increasing in incidence rate of METS (OR = 2.66 , 95% CI: 1.89-3.75) of adults with pancreatic adipose infiltration when compared to those without the disease. There was a trend of increasing in HTN (OR = 1.68 , 95% CI: 1.32-2.13) and levels of FBG (SMD = 0.54 , 95% CI: 0.35-0.72) and TG (SMD = 0.39 , 95% CI: 0.25-0.53) of adults with pancreatic adipose infiltration, while there was a trend of decreasing in HDL level (SMD = − 0.29 , 95% CI: -0.43~ -0.15). Conclusion. There was an association of incidence between pancreatic adipose infiltration and METS. Indicators of clinical features related to pancreatic adipose infiltration were more likely to arise, such as FBG and TG levels and HTN, but HDL level tended to decrease. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction. Classic anatomical literature frequently describes C7 contribution to ulnar nerve (UN) formation as a casual event. However, surgical practice and dissections frequently reveal a recurrent presence of a lateral cord component of the UN. This study aimed to seek through literature to establish the frequency and degree of this contribution. Methodology. We ran a literature review searching on Pubmed, MEDLINE, Embase and Web of Science databases for ulnar nerve anatomy and described discursively the results. Results and discussion. We found 9 articles that described quantitatively and qualitatively the contribution of C7 on the formation of the UN. The prevalence described ranged from 2 to 100%, depending on the methodology used and population characteristics. When present, studies described a contribution from 9,9% to 30,4%, sending even more fibres than T1 root on average. Conclusion. The C7 root can be considered a frequent and important component of the ulnar nerve, explaining UN territory repercussions on C7 radiculopathies. Radiation was first demonstrated to be associated with cavernomagenesis in 1992. Since then, a growing body of literature has shown the unique course and presentation of radiation-induced cavernous malformations (RICMs). This study summarizes the literature on RICMs and presents a single-center experience. A prospectively maintained single institution vascular malformation database was searched for all cases of intracranial cavernous malformation (January 1, 1997–December 31, 2021). For patients with a diagnosis of RICM, information on demographic characteristics, surgical treatments, radiation, and surgical outcomes was obtained and analyzed. A comprehensive literature search was conducted using PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases for all reported cases of RICM. A retrospective review of 1662 patients treated at a single institution yielded 10 patients with prior radiation treatment in the neck or head region and a subsequent diagnosis of intracranial RICM. The median (interquartile range) latency between radiation and presentation was 144 (108–192) months. Nine of 10 patients underwent surgery; symptoms improved for 5 patients, worsened for 3, and were stable for 1. The systematic literature review yielded 64 publications describing 248 patients with RICMs. Of the 248 literature review cases, 71 (28.6%) involved surgical resection. Of 39 patients with reported surgical outcomes, 32 (82%) experienced improvement. RICMs have a unique course and epidemiology. RICMs should be considered when patients with a history of radiation present with neurologic impairment. Disparities in vaccine-preventable disease (VPD) burden and immunisation coverage between migrants and refugees and their host populations have been described in numerous countries worldwide. Effective strategies are required to reduce the health disparities and immunisation inequities experienced by migrants and refugees. Using Arksey and O'Malley's framework, we conducted a scoping review to identify available literature on interventions aimed at reducing VPD burden among migrants and refugees worldwide. We searched for relevant empirical, peer-reviewed literature published in English between 2006 and 2018 using MEDLINE, Ovid EMBASE, CINAHL, Sociological Abstracts, and Web of Science databases. Relevant information from the studies, including intervention type, details and outcomes, were charted in Microsoft Excel and results were summarised using a descriptive analytical method. Seventy studies met the inclusion criteria. The number of published studies increased over the years. The majority of studies were conducted in high-income countries. More studies were conducted among migrants (not including refugees) (n = 48, 66%) than specifically among refugees (n = 25, 34%). Interventions were implemented in a variety of settings, including health care (n = 31, 42%), community (n = 29, 39%), off-shore (n = 7, 9%), national (n = 4, 5%), school (n = 2, 3%), and workplace (n = 1, 1%). Studies reported interventions focused at the individual (to facilitate uptake of health services) (n = 4, 5%), community (to raise awareness) (n = 25, 34%), provider (to offer health services) (n = 12, 16%) and/or system (to increase compliance with recommendations) (n = 33, 45%) level. To be effective, interventions were designed to overcome commonly identified barriers to accessing services related to language, culture, distance and cost. Engagement with community members and organisations was an effective way to co-design interventions that address migrants' specific needs. Studies emphasised the importance of interventions that address the heterogeneity within and between migrant and refugee populations. • A review of skin picking in PWS described when skin picking occurs, what sites are chosen, what initiates and what sustains it. • The review also showed that skin picking is probably not part of the repetitive and ritualistic behaviours characteristic of the syndrome. • Behavioural interventions may be more effective than medication in our present state of knowledge. A search of the PubMed and Web of Science databases for articles on skin picking in PWS was undertaken identifying case studies; trials of specific treatments; and descriptions of when skin picking occurs, what sites are chosen, and what initiates and sustains this behaviour. Published papers have also considered how skin picking might link to the PWS genotype and whether it is best considered to be part of the repetitive and ritualistic behaviours characteristic of the syndrome. To answer specific questions raised as a result of the review additional analysis was undertaken using data from our earlier population-based study of PWS. We consider this behaviour of skin picking using the framework of the Research Domains Criteria that is cross diagnostic and focuses on the identification of specific neurobiological, psychological and cognitive processes. PWS illustrates the likely interplay between different processes that first initiate and then maintain such behaviour. To conduct a review of the literature in order to identify the potential association between physical activity or exercise and the objective signs and/or subjective symptoms of dry-eye disease. A review of PubMed and Web of Science databases was performed, according to the PRISMA guidelines. The papers included in the review addressed the relationship of physical activity or exercise with dry-eye associated signs (changes in tear volume, osmolarity or biochemical composition) and/or subjective symptoms. A total of 16 papers were included. In eight, the changes in tear film volume, osmolarity and/or biochemical composition were studied after a single, acute bout of aerobic exercise. In another eight, changes in dry-eye associated symptoms were studied in relation to the habitual practice of physical activity or to prescribed exercise programmes. Acute responses of the tear film to exercise included: a) an increase of tear volume, without an increase of the tear break-up time; b) a trend to increase tear osmolarity, although within its physiological range; and c) a reduced concentration of several cytokines, and other molecular markers of inflammation or oxidative stress. Long-term exposure to physical activity or exercise programmes was associated with relief of dry-eye associated symptoms and a trend to increased tear break-up time. Despite a high heterogeneity in the studied population, study designs and methods, the current body of evidence suggests a potential role for physical activity as a modulatory stimulus for the proper functioning of the tear film and/or the relief of dry-eye symptoms. Abstract Objectives Emotion regulation is one of the most prevalent objectives for real-time fMRI neurofeedback (rt-fMRI-NF) studies. The existing studies differ in a number of methodological parameters. This study provides a literature review of the main parameters and results of studies using rt-fMRI-NF for emotion regulation enhancement. Method A search of the Web of Science database up through November 8, 2018, identified 144 articles written in English, 89 of which were excluded as irrelevant for this study. The remaining 51 original studies and four secondary analyses of previously published original studies were included in the literature review. The selection of target brain areas, target populations, emotion regulation protocols, NF presentation, control group types, and emotion regulation instructions were examined in relation to achieved brain regulation and changes in cognitive or clinical outcomes. Study results were evaluated in terms of their statistical robustness. Results The results show that healthy people are able to regulate their brain activity in the presence of rt-fMRI-NF from various brain regions related to emotion regulation, including the amygdala, anterior insula, and anterior cingulate cortex. The regulation of brain activity using rt-fMRI-NF from prefrontal-limbic connectivity or from individually navigated brain areas is feasible as well. Most studies that used a control group show that rt-fMRI-NF actually induces some effects on brain regulation, cognitive variables, and clinical variables. Generally, the success of ROI regulation during NF training is related to the combination of target brain region, the type of emotion regulation task, and the population undergoing the training. In terms of patient groups, the strongest support for the beneficial effects of rt-fMRI-NF has been shown in increased positive emotion experiencing in patients with depression and in decreased anxiety in patients with anxiety disorders. Symptom reduction following NF training has been also reported in patients with PTSD, BPD, and schizophrenia, but direct comparisons with control groups in these studies makes it impossible to evaluate the added value of NF. Studies often do not report all the relevant analyses for evaluating NF success and many studies lack statistical robustness. Conclusions Overall, rt-fMRI-NF seems a promising tool for emotion regulation enhancement with the potential to induce long-term symptom reduction in patients with various mental disorders. Studies of vaccine-preventable disease (VPD) burden and immunisation coverage among migrants compared to locally-born populations present a mixed picture on whether migrants experience disproportionate VPD rates and immunisation inequities, and what the associated factors are. We conducted a scoping review to explore differences in VPD burden and immunisation coverage between migrants and non-migrants worldwide. We followed Arksey and O'Malley's five stage scoping review method. We searched for empirical, peer-reviewed literature published in English that compared VPD burden and/or immunisation coverage between migrant and non-migrant groups published between 2006 and 2016 using MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, Sociological Abstracts, and Web of Science databases. Relevant information from the studies were charted in Microsoft Excel and results were summarised using a descriptive analytical method. Forty-five studies met the inclusion criteria (n = 13 reporting on VPD burden; n = 27 reporting on immunisation rates; n = 5 reporting on both). Studies that met the criteria only reported findings from high income countries or high-middle income countries. Accounting for results that were presented according to separate ethnic migrant sub-groups, almost all of the studies comparing VPD burden (n = 17, 89%) reported higher burden among migrants compared to non-migrants, while most studies measuring immunisation rates (n = 26, 70%) noted lower rates among migrants. Numerous factors contributed to these findings, including the influence of migrants' nativity, socio-economic status, migration background, generation status, residential duration, cultural/personal beliefs, language proficiency and healthcare utilisation. Considerable variability of study foci and methodologies limited our ability to make definitive conclusions and comparisons, but the literature suggests that migrant populations generally experience higher VPD burden and lower immunisation rates. The findings highlight a number of important considerations for future research and immunisation programme planning. Study's Objective: the present bibliographic study aims to perform a critical analysis between indicators for sustainable cities (ABNT/ISO 37120:2014 and SDG) and for smart cities (Web of Science) related to the challenges faced in cities. Methodology/approach: The methodological procedure was a literature review on the Web of Science database, content analysis, categorization of indicators and comparison. Originality/Relevance: The originality of the study is to analyze the set of indicators for smart and sustainable cities regarding their sensitivity in assessing a modern, innovative urban management focused on current challenges, such as migrations, climate adaptation, and natural disasters. Main results: The authors observed recurring indicators on health, education, housing, sanitation, and poverty, as well as on innovation and technology, and the absence of indicators related to the aforementioned challenges. Theoretical/methodological contributions: The results indicate a theoretical reference of quality and recognized by the scientific community. Conclusion: The production of tools and technologies for use in the scope of urban issues presents a great gap in the construction of sensitive indicators in the measurement of unprecedented transformations from a climatic point of view and of great impact on the cities. Fibromyalgia is a multifaceted disease. The clinical picture of fibromyalgia covers numerous comorbidities. Each comorbidity stands as a distinct condition. However, common pathophysiologic factors are occupied in their background. Along with the genetic, environmental and neuro-hormonal factors, inflammation has been supposed to have role in the pathogenesis of fibromyalgia. The aim of the present article was to review the current literature regarding the potential role of inflammation in the pathogenesis and treatment of fibromyalgia. A literature search was conducted through PubMed/MEDLINE and Web of Science databases using relevant keywords. Recent evidence on this highly studied topic indicates that fibromyalgia has an immunological background. Cytokines/chemokines, lipid mediators, oxidative stress and several plasma-derived factors underlie the inflammatory state in fibromyalgia. There are potential new therapeutic options targeting inflammatory pathways in fibromyalgia patients. In conclusion, there is evidence to support the inflammation-driven pathways in the pathogenesis of fibromyalgia. Abstract Currently, a significant transformation for energy systems has emerged as a result of the trend to develop an energy framework without fossil fuel reliance, the concerns about climate change and air quality, and the need to provide electricity to around of 17% of world population who lacks the service. Accordingly, the deployment of power plants located close to end-users and including multiple energy sources and carriers, along with the growing share of renewable energies, have suggested changes in the energy sector. Despite their potential capabilities, the design of distributed energy systems (DES) is a complex problem due to the simultaneous goals and constraints that need to be considered, as well as to the high context dependence of this kind of projects. For these reasons, in this work a systematic literature review of DES including hydrogen as energy vector, was made analyzing 106 research papers published between the years 2000–2018, and extracted from Scopus® and Web of Science databases. The aim was to identify how hydrogen is employed (technologies, uses) and the criteria that are evaluated (economic, technical, social and environmental) when these systems are designed, planned and/or operated. The results constitute a baseline information covering the type of technologies, equipment sizes and hydrogen applications, that could be valuable for the preliminary stages of research or project planning of DES involving hydrogen. Furthermore, other factors have also been identified, such as the focus on techno-economic issues, and the lack of considering socio/political aspects and the uncertainty about input data like weather conditions, energy prices and demands. Additionally, a more integrated approach is needed including all the hydrogen supply chain stages and project stakeholders, to tackle issues like safety of the energy systems that could produce consumer rejections. This article was developed under an exploratory, descriptive methodology; using the following categories: metaverses, virtual reality, and teaching, a search was made in the Science, Scopus and web Science databases, obtaining one hundred reference articles. Education is going through stages of improvement, where the use of new tools helps to promote education. The use of virtual platforms focused on virtual reality, and metaverses are, in essence, the tools for the bestcataloged modern teaching, where this proved to be useful for education. • Dupilumab, as an IL4Rα antagonist, showed a beneficial effect on BP. • We reported the clinical data for nine BP patients treated with dupilumab. • Previous literature describing the use of dupilumab for BP was summarized. Bullous pemphigoid is an autoimmune blistering disease that affects the elderly mostly. First-line treatment of systemic corticosteroids may cause significant adverse effects, especially in patients with multiple co-morbidities. Dupilumab shows certain effectiveness in treating BP. We aim to profile our experience with dupilumab in a series of patients with BP and review the articles published to date. Medical records of 9 patients with moderate-to-severe BP were retrospectively reviewed. All patients were administered dupilumab. Response to dupilumab was evaluated by NRS scores, number of lesions, and the systemic corticosteroids' dosage. The PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases were searched to identify eligible studies. The 9 patients were identified in this case series with a median age of 68 years (range 42–89) and the median duration of disease before being treated with dupilumab was 6 months (range 1–144). Complete remission was achieved in 6 patients while partial response was achieved in one patient. The NRS score had decreased to varying degrees at week 2 in all patients, and skin lesions improved within 2 to 6 weeks. Fifteen publications were included: 3 retrospective studies and 12 case series or reports, with a total of 63 patients. The overall complete response and partial response rates were 74.6 % and 11.1 %, respectively. Dupilumab appears to be a safe alternative for the treatment of patients with refractory BP. Pleomorphic adenoma accounts for the majority of benign tumors of the salivary gland. It is also called mixed tumor because it is composed by ductal epithelial and myoepithelial cells, variably intermixed within a chondromyxoid stroma. The recurrence rate is around 3.4% and 6.3%, respectively at 5 and 10 years and, to date, there are no valuable predictive factors. Aim of our study was to assess the role of Ki67 proliferative index in our cases and through meta-analysis. Immunohistochemistry with Ki67 antibody was performed on 28 cases. A manual count of the signal was performed, to establish the proliferative activity. Statistical tests were applied to assess the correlation between the score and clinico-pathologic parameters. Further data were extrapolated from studies published on Pubmed, Cochrane and Web of Science database. Higher values of Ki67 were found among cases with larger size (p value = 0.0061) and showing greater cellularity (p value =0.0004). 19 papers were selected from the bibliographic search, concerning a total of 1187 patients affected by pleomorphic adenoma. In most of them, a higher Ki67 was detected among relapsing forms but results were controversial. In each study, several count methods were applied. The role of Ki67 in pleomorphic adenoma of the salivary glands remains unclear. The lack of homogeneity of the data makes it very difficult to standardize them in order to draw a conclusion. This paper conducts a bibliometric analysis of servitization and PSS by examining 690 selected papers from Web of Science database. Knowledge mapping techniques including collaboration analysis, co-citation analysis and keywords co-occurrence analysis methods are adopted in the bibliometric analysis. Our findings show that China and England are the top two countries publishing more papers, and Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and Denmark keep tight collaboration relationships with other regions. We also find that some active researchers play critical roles as interfaces to connect different research groups in the servitization and PSS fields. Some authors of highly cited papers in earlier years gradually turned to other research directions. In addition, 'Digital PSS and servitization', and 'territorial servitization' are found to be emerging trends in recent years. Although the earlier sustainability topics in the servitization field are more associated with eco-design and lifecycle extension, they gradually shift to sustainable business models in recent years. Necrotizing epiglottitis (NE) is a rare but extremely serious variant of acute bacterial epiglottitis. So far, it has been reported mostly in immunocompromised adults and only seldomly in the pediatric population. We describe the case of a 15-month-old immunocompetent child who presented to our tertiary referral center with necrotizing epiglottitis. This manuscript emphasizes the need for rapid recognition and surgical management of this unusual condition, as well as the importance of laryngeal preservation when facing overwhelming necrosis around the laryngeal cartilaginous framework. Pulmonary subsolid nodules (SSNs) are observed not infrequently on thin-section chest computed tomography (CT) images. SSNs persisting after a follow-up period of three to six months have a high likelihood of being pre-malignant or malignant lesions. Malignant SSNs usually represent the histologic spectrum of pulmonary adenocarcinomas, and pulmonary adenocarcinomas presenting as SSNs exhibit quite heterogeneous behavior. In fact, while most lesions show an indolent course and may grow very slowly or remain stable for many years, others may exhibit significant growth in a relatively short time. Therefore, it is not yet clear which persistent SSNs should be surgically removed and for how many years stable SSNs should be monitored. In order to solve these two open issues, the use of quantitative analysis has been proposed to define the "tailored" management of persistent SSNs. The main purpose of this review was to summarize recent results about quantitative CT analysis as a diagnostic tool for predicting the behavior of persistent SSNs. Thus, a literature search was conducted in PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science databases to find original articles published from January 2014 to October 2019. Background: It is repeatedly reported that pregabalin (PRG) and gabapentin feature a potential for abuse/misuse, predominantly in patients with former or active substance use disorder. The most common route of use is oral, though reports of sublingual, intravenous, rectal, and smoking administration also exist. A narrative review was performed to provide an overview of current knowledge about nasal PRG use. Methods: A narrative review of the currently available literature of nasal PRG use was performed by searching the MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Web of Science databases. The abstracts and articles identified were reviewed and examined for relevance. Secondly, a request regarding reports of cases of nasal PRG administration was performed in the worldwide spontaneous reporting system of adverse drug reactions of the European Medicines Agency (EMA, EudraVigilance database). Results: The literature search resulted in two reported cases of nasal PRG use. In the analysis of the EMA-database, 13 reported cases of nasal PRG use (11 male (two not specified), mean age of users = 34.2 years (four not specified)) were found. In two cases fatalities occurred related to PRG nasal use. Conclusions: Even if only little evidence can be found in current literature, the potential for misuse/abuse of PRG via nasal route might be of particular importance in the near future in PRG users who misuse it.
