Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2011, Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2011, Gemiler için pervane dizaynı, elde edilebilecek en fazla verimi vermesi, kavitasyon yapmayacak şekilde olması ile gürültü ve titreşim değerleri müsaade edilebilir sınırlar içinde olması gereken bir optimizasyon problemidir. Bu çalışmada, daha verimli bir pervane için seçilen bir askeri gemiye ilk önce standart serilere göre pervane dizaynı yapılıp elde edilen pervane kaldırıcı hat teorisi uygulanarak ize uyumlu hale getirilmiştir. Uygulama gemisi için pervane dizaynında önceden gerekli olan direnç değerlerini verecek olan Matlab kodları kullanılmış ve deney sonuçları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Deney sonuçlarına en yakın olan direnç tahmin yöntemi seçildikten sonra standart serilere göre pervane dizaynı yapılmıştır. Model deneylerinden elde edilen iz değerleri daha sonra kaldırıcı hat teorisini kullanan mevcut bir Matlab yazılımına aktarılmış, direnç katsayıları ve diğer tüm parametreler ayarlandıktan sonra mevcut pervane ize uygun hale getirilmiş ve sonuçlar tablolar halinde tezde sunulmuştur., To design a propeller is an optimisation problem, including efficiency, cavitation, vibration and noise characteristics that are in acceptable limits. In this study, for an efficient propeller, lifting line theory applied for wake adaptation after standart series design application to a navy ship. Resistance characteristics of the navy ship were predicted by Holtrop & Mennen method which was the best suitable for this type of ship according to model tests. After the resistance prediction, an appropriate propeller was designed by using standart series data. Results of the propleler characteristics obtained from standart series data were used for wake adapted design by Matlab codes and all values presented in the thesis., Yüksek Lisans, M.Sc.

The vortex model of propellers is modified and applied to the high-speed horizontal axis turbines. The turbine blades are replaced by lifting lines and trailing vortices which shed along the blade span. The model is not a free wake model, but it is still a nonlinear one which should be solved iteratively. In addition to the regular case where the trailing vortices are constrained to distribute along a helical surface, another version, where each trailing vortex sheding from the blade grows as a free helical vortex line, is also included. Performance parameters are calculated by application of the Biot-Savart law along with the Kutta-Joukowski theorem. Predictions are, shown to compare favorably with existing numerical data from more involved free wake methods, but require less computational effort. Thereby, the present method may be a very useful tool for calculating the aerodynamic loads on horizontal-axis wind turbine blades.
