The article offers information related to African library science. Professor Paul Sturges has received the 2011 International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) medal award. The 2nd International Conference on African Digital Libraries and Archives (ICADLA-2) will be held on November 14,-18, 2011. The XXth Standing Conference of Eastern Central and South Africa Library and Information Associations (SCECSAL) 2012 will be held on June 4-8, 2012.
