International audience; In a context where organizations group together and organize collective action to address the new challenges (economic, social and environmental) which stem from globalization (König et al.2012; Berkowitz & Dumez, 2016), a new area of enquiry has appeared in management studies to explore new forms of organization known as meta-organizations (Ahrne & Brunsson 2005; Ahrne & Brunsson 2008). This study aims to to understand how a collective vision is constructed within a meta- organization and what unites its members, in other terms the “dynamics of its composition” (Cropper & Bor, 2018) with regards to the tension between interests (organizational and individual) and disinterestedness. Starting from the point of view of Levinas, the present article attempts to address this question by re-examining the place of the individual in the dynamics of the meta-organization.
