Abstract

The article presents a biography of African American horn player William Lee. He was born in the year approximately 1750-1752 in Northern Virginia in an enslaved poor family. He was skilled as a huntsman and was used to direct the hounds and hunting assistants in Mount Vernon, Washington. He was also associated with the Rodenbostel Horn made by horn maker George Henry Rodenbostel.
