Background: There are many National Health Insurance (NHI) participants who do not yet understand the mechanism of NHI services, including clients who are hospitalized. The phenomena that exist on the field, that the client will enlist the help of health professionals who are always in the ward, especially nurses, to provide information on all matters, including NHI. On the other hand, nurses have a major role in caring for clients, based on their duties and functions. Purpose : This study aims to determine if there is expansion of the role of nurses as care giver and advokator in the inpatient unit, era NHI program. Methods : This research is a descriptive study of the role of nurses as care giver and advokator in inpatient era NHI program, employing triangulation method. Respondents were 64 inpatient clients registered as NHI participants in the Hospital Semarang assigned by proportional simple random sampling, and four nurses. Result : The results showed that there are expanding the role of nurses as care giver and advocator in the inpatient unit, era NHI program. Conclusion : With the implementation of NHI program, the roles of nurses as care giver and advokator has expanded in the inpatient unit. BPJS/NHI parties need to disseminate information relating to NHI to nurses, as well as the need to be given compensatory reward for nurses

This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design, employing logistic regression methods. The number of sample of this study was 50 independent workers, determined by purposive sampling (judgmental sampling). The results of this research show that 54% respondents are not participants JKN. 56% of respondents have high knowledge, 56% high income, 88% high acceptability, and 54% negative attitude. The results also show that knowledge, attitude and income influence the JKN participation (p value 0.005, 0.000, and 0.000). Acceptability does not affect the JKN participation (p value 0.119). Knowledge is the dominant factor affecting the JKN participation with Exp (B) 5.94. In conclusion, people with high knowledge have 5.94 times higher chance for participants for JKN than people with low knowledge. It can be suggested that BPJS need to improve the knowledge of independent employee about JKN program using information dissemination.

Based on preliminary survey Kenanga room Sunan Kalijaga Demak Hospital in January - March 2010 there were 109 patients with open wounds stage I-III due to accidents, there were 9% (9 patients), wound infection characterized by pus out of wounds, sores and dirty looks wet. The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of the management of aseptic techniques in open wound treatment stage II-III on the incidence of infection in Kenanga room Hospitals Sunan Kalijaga Demak. Quasi-experimental research design, methods of correlation. The population of patients open wounds with stage II -III in hospitals Sunan Kalijaga Demak (15 September to 30 October 2010 and 14 - 24 January 2011), the sample is 25 patients. Research tool dalah observation sheet. To determine the influence of the management of aseptic technique in handling the open wound stage II-III on the incidence of infection in Kenanga room hospitals Sunan Kalijaga Demak. Respondents were male sex (88 %), surgery or an open wound for wound surgery hernia respondents (44%) and average treatment time 6 days. Type of clean wounds 24 (96 %) clean contaminated wounds 1 (4 %). Respondents were infected wound 4 (16 %). From the analysis wilcoxon nilai p value 0,048 < 0,05, so that there is effect the management of aseptic technique in handling the open wound stage II-III on the incidence of infection in Kenanga room hospitals Sunan Kalijaga Demak. The results can be used as a reference in improving and developing methods of prevention and treatment of infection is open sores, especially stage II-III in Kenanga room hospitals Sunan Kalijaga Demak.

This research is a descriptive correlation study with cross sectional design to search the relation factors affecting mortality among severe head injury patients. Data of the study was collected from medical record of patients suffering from severe head injury who admitted at energency department of Tugurejo general hospital Semarang during Nopember 2010 until Oktober 2011. From 57 respondents, 19 people passed away during obtaining treatment at emergency department. There were three factors related to mortality of severe head injury patients. Theese were blood pressure on emergency department (ED) admission (p = 0,000), GCS on admission (p = 0,000), and Injury Severity Score (ISS) (p = 0,000). The logistic regression biner resulted that there were no dominant factors related to mortality of severe head injury patients (p>0,05). The odd ration of blood pressure variable is the hightes (0,688) compare to other variables such as GCS (OR = 0,281) and ISS (0,594).
