The accident occurrence of UAV is increasing relatively with the development of it, which become a fatal threat to national defence and social security. Handling such problem has become a difficult mission for all countries. Conventional arms, due to the restriction, are hard to defend UAV. With the development of technology, tactical laser weapon is revealing great advantage in defending such aerocraft. In this article, the development and actuality of tactical laser anti-UAV are sorted out. The key technology in three aspects, which are high energy laser source includes high energy laser and beam combining, quisition tracking pointing, high efficient destroying, are analyzed and summarized. This article points out the developing direction of tactical laser anti-UAV, which could be considered as a reference as well.

For antimissile, antisatellite, or such kind of strategic defense application, laser weapon is expected to emit 100 kW power or higher level. By considering the development and its object of laser weapon, a new damnification method using mult-mode laser was presented. Using the lasers, different in wavelength, pulsed and continuous wave, frequency verified, focused on target commutatively or synchronously to get more effective result. A complex damnification model was conceived and simulated by using finite element method. A 2 kW continuous wave laser and a long pulse width laser were used in the damage comparison experiments. Both the simulation and experiments results indicate that pulsed laser is better than continuous in metal ablation, furthermore, complex laser is much better. Comparing with pulsed laser, complex laser inspires nonlinear avalanche ablation effect, which makes the ablated metal 13 times more than using pulsed laser. This nonlinear avalanche ablation effect makes a base for mult-mode coaxial combined laser weapon.

To make the laser diode(LD) pump source of laser operate reliably in a wide ambient temperature range without temperature control system, and improve the absorption efficiency and stability of the pump light, the spectral properties of LD and the absorption spectrum properties of Nd:YAG were analyzed, then a new theory and method to design LD pump source with multi-wavelength were proposed, and the absorption length in the gain media was increased to overcome the disadvantage produced by the mismatch between the LD wavelength and the absorption peak of Nd:YAG. A LD pump source with three wavelengths(802.35 nm@25℃, 813.15 nm@25℃ and 810.95 nm@25℃) was designed. The simulation result shows that the pump light absorption efficiency can reach 73.96% under a certain absorption length, and while the ambient temperature changes from -15.7℃ to 65.7℃, the instability of the output energy is less than 5%. The influence of the absorption length and the doped concentration of Nd3+ in the laser crystal on the pump light absorption efficiency was also simulated.
