The article discusses the need of statutory registration for nutritionists in Great Britain. It states that the structural change may help drive professionalisation in the country. It also notes that becoming members of a regulated profession could help set registered nutritionists apart from those self-styled nutritionists. However, a survey among members of the Nutrition Society reflects the preference of uniqueness and individuality rather than membership of the collectivity.
