The purpose of this study is to reveal the view of Turkish police officer on violence in football and hooliganism with the case of Mugla province. A universe of the study consists of police officers working in the Riot Police Unit who are tasked with providing the security for football events and other sport events. 70 police officers working for Mugla Provincial Riot Police Branch Office constitute of a sample of the study. In this research, “The Questionnaire of A View on Hooliganism” comprising 35 questions and developed by Celik in 2007 with the purpose of finding out the riot police officers’ demographic information, participants’ opinion concerning current laws and regulations, a prevention of spectator’s aggression, a coordination with other security units and institutions, practices in the stadium, educational subjects and solution recommendations is conducted as a data collection tool. A validity of the questionnaire has been tested and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient has been calculated as 0,83. The collected data has been analyzed using SPSS 14 package program. Frequency, percentage and avarage is used for analyzing socio-demographic profile of subjects. According to the analysis, the violence in the stadium originating from irresponsible spectators is accounted for 84%, and the role of media has 48%. From the views concerning current law and regulations, 55% of the subjects reply “partially sufficient”. 68% of them states that a security of the event should be transferred into private security services. 84% of the subjects indicates that it should be extra payment as long as police officers are tasked. To conclusion, participants indicate that the current “A Violence in Sports Law” is not literally address the needs, it should be pursued different policies concerning the prevention of spectators’ aggressions, a coordination with other institutions and especially with judicial authorities is not ensured, a security in the stadium should be provided by private security services, police officers are indifferent towards improvements and alterations in the safety of sports, and they are not educated enough in this field.

Although the fans are one of the main sources that keep the clubs alive, it is extremely wrong to ignore this audience and not to conduct research based on scientific methods about them. It will be important for the clubs to understand this community that is attached blindly and does not stop supporting their team. In this study, the aim was to understand the psychological commitment of the Faculty of Sport Sciences students to the team they support and examine this commitment in terms of different variables. The study group of this research consisted of 446 students, 162 of whom were females and 284 were males, who continue their education at Mugla Sitki Kocman University the Faculty of Sport Sciences. As data collection tools; the Psychological Commitment to Team (PCT) Scale developed by Mahony et al. (2000) and adapted to Turkish by Eskiler et al. (2011) and the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researchers to determine the demographic characteristics of the students were used. The current study focused on decision-making styles of basketball classification referees under Turkish Basketball Federation. In the study; “Personal Information Form” designed by the researchers and “Melbourne Decision Making Questionnaire” developed by Mann et al. (1998) and adapted into Turkish by Deniz et al. (2004) that explore decision-making styles were employed. Decision-making styles of the participant referees were compared in terms of sex, age, refereeing duration, province, average number of matches conducted during the season, whether or not being affected by spectator pressure, education, perceived economic income and marital status. The population of the study was composed of a total of 251 basketball classification referees (31 female referees and 220 male referees) under TBF (2015-2016 Season). The sample was consisted of a total of 197 basketball classification referees who volunteered to join the study (25 female referees and 172 male referees). As a result; vigilance decision-making of the basketball classification referees who worked under TBF decreased as their educational status increased. It was identified that those basketball classification referees who were married used buck-passing, procrastination and hyper-vigilance decision-making styles more than those who were single. Ozet Bu calisma, Turkiye Basketbol Federasyonu (TBF) bunyesindeki, basketbol klasman hakemlerinin karar verme stillerinin incelenmesine odaklanmistir. Arastirmada, arastirmacilarin gelistirdigi “Kisisel Bilgi Formu” ve karar verme stillerini belirlemek icin Mann ve digerleri (1998), tarafindan gelistirilmis olan ve Deniz (2004) tarafindan Turkce uyarlamasi yapilan “Melbourne Karar Verme Stilleri Olcegi” kullanilmistir. Katilimcilarin karar verme stilleri, cinsiyet, yas, hakemlik yili, il, sezonda yonettigi ortalama mac sayisi, seyirci baskisindan etkilenip-etkilenmeme, egitim, algilanan ekonomik gelir ve medeni durumlari acilarindan mukayese edilmistir. Arastirmanin evrenini TBF’na bagli olarak gorev yapan (2015-2016 Sezonu), 31’i kadin, 220’si erkek olmak uzere toplam 251 klasman hakeminden olusmaktadir. Orneklem ise, genel evren icerisinden calismamiza gonullu olarak katilmayi kabul eden 25’i kadin,172’si erkek klasman hakem olmak uzere genel toplamda 197 basketbol klasman hakeminden olusmustur. Sonuc olarak; TBF’na bagli olarak klasman statude gorev yapan hakemleri n, egitim seviyelerinin yukseldikce, dikkatli karar verme alt boyutunda azalma oldugunu, evli olan katilimcilarin, bekâr olan katilimcilara oranla daha cok kacingan, erteleyici ve panik karar verme stilini kullandiklarini, yasin ilerlemesine bagli olarak kacingan karar verme stilini tercih ettikleri soylenebilir.

The aim of this study was to compare life quality of people living in İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir having higher population density to those living in cities having lower population density. 2060 people from İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir, 5892 people from other cities, totally 7952 people, were participated in the study. Turkish version of WHOQOL-BREF scale consisting 27 items, developed by World Health Organization with the participation of 15 collaboration centers was used to determine life quality of participants. WHOQOL-BREF scale includes four dimensions; physical, psychological, social relations, and environment SPSS 16.0 was used to analyzed collected data. Descriptive analyze was used to determine characteristics of participants, Independent t test was used to compare cities having different populations densities, crosstab and chi square tests were used to analyze items not included in scoring. Significant differences were found between people from cities having different population density in terms of physical and environmental field (p0.05). Consequently, according to higher level of life quality scores of people living in high population density than those living low population densities in terms of physical, psychological, social and environmental field, it can be said that it is a positive reflection of life to life quality in cities having higher population density.

The purpose of this study is examining the relation between the emotional intelligence and happiness of the wellness coaches. 390 wellness coaches 282 of whom were women and 108 of whom were men participated voluntarily in the study. The participants were actively working as wellness coaches. The Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS) whose Turkish adaptation was realized by Aslan; and the Oxford Happiness Scale, which was developed by Hills and Argyle whose adaptation into Turkish was realized by Dogan and Sapmaz were used as the data collection tools. The descriptive statistical methods, the t-test, One-Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA), regression analysis and Pearson Correlation tests were used for the analysis of the data. At the end of the study it was determined that there was no statistically significant differences between the happiness and emotional intelligence points of Wellness Coaches for Oxford Happiness Scale when these points were compared according to the genders (p>0,05); and significant difference was determined in benefiting from emotions and optimism, which are the sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence scale (p0,05). It is observed that there is a positive relation at 0,383 level between the Oxford Happiness Scale and the Emotional Intelligence Scale. When the regression analysis results are examined, it is observed that the Emotional Intelligence Sub-dimensions explain the happiness at the medium level. The most explanatory one among the sub-dimensions is the optimism sub-dimension.
