The article discusses the study regarding the chemical composition of the meromictic soda Lake Doroninskoe located in the eastern Transbaikalia, Russia. Topics include the stability anaerobic conditions provided by the density stratification of the water column, the role of microbial communities in process of producing and destructing the lakes, and the clear expression of the isotopic composition of carbon and oxygen carbonates.
