Abstract

Investigates the effect of an oral administration of Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota (LcS) on the natural killer (NK) activity of blood mononuclear cells and splenocytes in aged mice. Diminished NK cell activity in aged mice, as compared to that in young mice; Possible mechanism underlying the enhanced NK activity resulting from LcS administration; Role of NK cells in cellular immunity.
