Bu araştırmada okul öncesi dönemdeki çocukların sıklıkla hata yaptıkları matematiksel kavramlar öğretmen görüşleri açısından incelenmiştir. Araştırmaya 16 okul öncesi öğretmeni katılmıştır. Çocuklar tarafından sıklıkla hata yapılan kavramların, hata türlerinin, hata nedenlerinin ve öğretmenlerin hataları giderme stratejilerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda çocukların en çok “çember”, “kenar”, “geniş-dar”, “para”, “sağ-sol”, “10-20 arası sayılar” “derin-sığ” ve “dün-bugün-yarın” kavramlarına ilişkin hata yaptıkları, kavramlara ilişkin en çok “kavram karmaşası” yaşadıkları, öğretmenlerin en çok çocuktan kaynaklı nedenleri öne sürdüğü, son olarak öğretmenlerin sayı kavramları dışında şekil, boyut, miktar, yer-yön, zıtlık ve zaman kavramlarına ilişkin hataların giderilmesine yönelik uygun stratejiler kullandıkları görülmüştür. Bu araştırmaların sonuçlarında okul öncesi öğretmen yetiştirme, sunulan eğitim hizmetini geliştirme ve araştırma açısından hataları ortaya çıkarma ve gidermeye yönelik özel uygulamalar-araçlar geliştirilebilir., The aim of this study was to investigate preschool children's common errors in mathematical concepts, in terms of teachers' views. Sixteen preschool teachers participated this study. Teachers were interviewed to determine children’s common mistakes on mathematical concepts, types, sources and causes of mistakes and strategies to fix them. It was seen that, children mostly make mistakes regarding the concepts of “circle”, “edge”, “narrow-wide”, “money”, “right-left”, “numbers from 10 to 20”, “shallow-deep” and “yesterday-to day-tomorrow”. And, they mostly have concept confusion. Teacher mostly consider factors arising from children, as causes of errors. Last, strategies that offered by teachers to fix children’s errors in concepts of “shape”, “size” “quantity”, “directions”, “antonyms” and “time” were mostly appropriate, but not for “numbers”. Some special implementations or instruments intended to develop teacher training programs, inservice facilities and studies to find out and fix children’s errors, should be developed.

Bu araştırmada yedinci sınıf öğrencilerinin basınç konusundaki kavram yanılgılarının matematiksel hatalar açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tarama modelinin benimsendiği çalışma, yedinci sınıf düzeyinde toplam 200 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Veri toplama aracı olarak, üç aşamalı olarak hazırlanan “Basınç Kavramsal Ölçme Aracı” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistiksel tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Betimsel analiz sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin basınç konusundaki kavramsal anlama düzeylerinin oldukça düşük ve dokuz farklı kavram yanılgısına sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu kavram yanılgıları matematiksel hatalar açısından incelendiğinde ise dördünün bilimsel, dördünün bütünleşik ve bir tanesinin işlemsel hata olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar ışığında, disiplinler arası iş birliğinin artırılması, öğrenme alanlarının eşgüdümlü ilerlemesi ve öğretmenlerin bu konuda bilgilendirilmesi öneri olarak sunulmuştur In this study, it is aimed to examine the misconceptions in the subject of pressure of the seventhgrade students in terms of mathematical errors. The study, in which the survey model was adopted, was conducted with a total of 200 students at the seventh-grade level. As a data collection tool, "Pressure Conceptual Measurement Tool" prepared in three-tier was used. Descriptive statistical techniques were used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the descriptive analysis, it was determined that students conceptual understanding levels on the pressure concept were very low and they had nine different misconceptions. When the misconceptions were examined in terms of mathematical errors, it was determined that four of them were scientific, four of them are integrated and one is the operational error. In the light of the results that obtained from the research, increasing interdisciplinary cooperation, coordination progress of areas and informing teachers about this issue were presented as a proposal.

Bu çalışmanın amaçlarından birisi ilköğretim 4. ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin ondalık gösterim konusundaki kavram yanılgılarının ve hatalarının tespit edilmesidir. Çalışmanın diğer amacı ise "hata ve kavram yanılgıları teşhis testinin" nasıl değerlendirileceğini belirlemektir. Çalışmada kullanılan yöntem tarama modeli olup öğrencilerin mevcut durumunu ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, 4. ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin ondalık gösterim konusundaki kavram yanılgılarını ve hatalarını tespit etmek için ilgili alan yazın analiz edilmiş ve matematik eğitiminde uzman 3 eğitimcinin görüşleri de dikkate alınarak 28 sorudan oluşan üç aşamalı "hata ve kavram yanılgıları teşhis testi" adlı bir test hazırlanmıştır. Bu ölçme aracının güvenirliğinin belirlenmesi amacıyla 100 öğrenci ile pilot uygulaması yapılmıştır. Veriler SPSS'e girilmiştir ve testin KR-20 değeri 0.75 olarak bulunmuştur. Çalışma bulgularına göre çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerde ondalık gösterimler konusunda kavram yanılgıları görülmüştür., One of the aims of this study is to identify the misconceptions and mistakes of the 4th and 5th grade students of the elementary school about the decimal numbers. The other aim of the study is to determine how to evaluate the "error and misconception diagnostic test". The method used in the study was descriptive survey and aimed to reveal the current situation of the students. For this purpose, the related literature was analyzed to determine the misconceptions and errors of the 4th and 5th grade students on the decimal representation. Taking into consideration the opinions of the 3 specialists in mathematics education, a three-step "error and misconception diagnostic test" consisting of 28 questions was prepared. Pilot application was made with 100 students to determine the reliability of this measurement tool. The data were entered into SPSS and the value of the test was found to be 0.75 for the KR-20. According to the findings of the study, the students who participated in the study had misconceptions about the decimal representations.

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı; ortaokul 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin yüzdeler konusunda karşılaştıkları güçlükleri belirlemek ve bu öğrenme güçlüklerinin giderilmesine katkıda bulunmaktır.Yöntem: Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılı 2. döneminde Manisa ilinde bir devlet okulunda eğitim gören 46 ortaokul 7. Sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilerin öğrenme güçlüklerini belirlemek için araştırmacı tarafından, yüzdeler konusu kazanımları göz önüne alınarak hazırlanan başarı testi uygulanmış ve öğrencilerle klinik görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Nicel verilerin analizinde frekans ve yüzde gibi betimsel istatistik değerlerinden, nitel verilerin analizinde içerik analizinden yararlanılmıştır.Bulgular: Öğrencilerin 100 eşit parçaya bölünmüş şekilleri yüzde sembolü ile göstermede fazla güçlük yaşamadıkları fakat 100'den farklı bir sayıda eşit parçaya bölünen şekillerde zorlandıkları tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin kesrin paydasının 10 ve 1000 olması durumunda da kesri yüzde sembolü ile doğrudan yazdıkları gözlenmiştir. Bazı öğrencilerin ondalık gösterimleri başındaki sıfırı veya virgülü kaldırarak yüzde şeklinde yazdıkları görülmektedir. Öğrencilerin kesirleri genişletme ve sadeleştirme konusunda zorlandıkları tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin yüzde ile ilgili problemleri anlamakta ve çözmekte zorlandıkları görülmektedir. Öğrencilerin faiz problemlerinde kullanılan temel kavramları bilmedikleri bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır.Sonuç ve Öneriler: Öğrencilerin en fazla; bir çokluğun belirtilen bir yüzdesine karşılık gelen miktarı bulma ve belirli bir yüzdesi verilen çokluğu bulma, bir çokluğu diğer bir çokluğun yüzdesi olarak hesaplama, bir çokluğu belirli bir yüzde ile arttırmaya veya azaltmaya yönelik hesaplamalar yapma ve yüzde ile ilgili problemleri çözmede zorlandıkları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Yüzdeler konusu anlatılmadan önce öğrencilere kesirler konusu ile ilgili genişletme ve sadeleştirmenin nasıl yapılacağı ve ondalık sayıları kesir şeklinde yazma konularında hatırlatıcı bilgiler verilmelidir. Ayrıca faiz sorularında formüle dayalı bilgiler vermektense öğrencilerin uygulayarak öğrenecekleri kavramsal bilgiler üzerinde durulmalıdır. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the difficulties that middle school 7th graders experience in learning of the subject of percentage and to contribute to the elimination of these learning difficulties.Method: In this study, document analysis technique is used from qualitative research methods. The study group are 46 seventh graders studying in a public middle school in Manisa in the second semester of the 2016-2017 academic-year. In order to determine the learning difficulties of the students, the achievement test was developed by the researcher taking into account the achievements of the middle school mathematics curriculum about percentage and clinical interviews were conducted with the students. In the analysis of quantitative data, descriptive statistical techniques, such as frequency and percentage were used.Results: The students divided into 100 equal parts were found to have difficulty in showing with the percentage symbol but they were found to be difficult in the shapes divided into equal parts different from 100. It has been observed that students write directly with a percentage sign if they have 10 and 1000 credits. It appears that some students write percentages by removing the leading zero or decimal point decimals. It has been determined that students have difficulty in expanding and simplifying fractions. Students are perceived to have problems with the percentage and found to be difficult to solve. It has been found that students do not know the basic concepts used in interest problems.Conclusion and Suggestions: Most of the students; finding a corresponding amount of a specified percentage of a whole, and finding a certain percentage of the given whole, calculating a whole as a percentage of the given whole, calculating a multiplication by a certain percentage to increase or decrease, and solving problems related to the percentage. Before describing the concept of percentiles, students should be given reminders on how to expand and simplify the subject of the fractions and how to write decimal numbers in the fractions. In addition, instead of providing ready-made formulas about interest problems, conceptual information for learners should be emphasized. 124

The main purpose of this literature review is to investigate common arithmetic difficulties experienced by students in mathematicswhile solving mathematics problems that require arithmetic operations. There are many reasons why children engage arithmetic error, such as carelessness, lack of knowledge, and misconceptions. If errors continue even after many years, this means that these errors are not random errors and need attention. In this review, first, main reasons that cause students to experience difficulties in arithmetic operations were investigated and then they were explained with examples. This study will be an important resource for people who focus on teaching and learning mathematics, especially in elementary education. Bu alan yazın taramasının temel amacı öğrencilerin matematikte dört işlem konusunda yaşadıkları yaygın aritmetik güçlükleri ortaya çıkartmaktır. Çocukların aritmetikte hata yapmalarının birçok nedeni vardır: Dikkatsizlik, bilgi eksikliği, kavram yanılgıları gibi. Çocukların yapmış oldukları hatalar süreklilik arz edip yıllar sonra bile benzerlik gösteriyorsa bu hatalar rastgele hatalar değildir ve dikkate değerdir. Bu çalışmada da ilk önce öğrencilerin aritmetik işlemlerde neden güçlük yaşadıkları araştırılmış, daha sonra da en yaygın yaşanan güçlükler örneklerle açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu alan yazın taramasının matematik eğitimi ve öğretimi alanında çalışmalar yapan araştırmacılar için önemli bir kaynak olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim 4. ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin ondalık sayılar konusundaki kavram yanılgılarının ve hatalarının tespit edilmesidir. Bu çalışmada, nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin birlikte kullanıldığı karma yöntem kullanılmış olup öğrencilerin mevcut durumunu ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, İzmir ilinin Bornova ilçesindeki 4 farklı okulda bulunan 119 tane 4.sınıf öğrencisi ve 110 tane 5.sınıf öğrencisi olmak üzere toplam 229 tane öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın nicel bölümü için tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmacı tarafından ilgili alan yazın analiz edilerek ve matematik eğitiminde uzman 3 eğitimcinin görüşleri alınarak 24 sorudan oluşan 3 aşamalı kavram yanılgısı ve hata teşhis testi geliştirilip uygulanmıştır. Birinci aşamada çoktan seçmeli bir soru yer almaktadır. İkinci aşamada öğrencinin soruya verdiği cevabın nedenini açıklaması istenmiştir. Üçüncü aşamada ise öğrencinin ilk iki aşamada verdiği cevaptan emin olup olmadığı sorulmuştur. Yapılan uygulama sonucunda ölçme aracının güvenirlik katsayısı (KR-20) 0.86 olarak bulunmuştur. Araştırmanın nitel bölümü için kavram yanılgısı tespit edilen 10 öğrenci ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Bu görüşmeler sayesinde öğrencilerin sahip oldukları kavram yanılgılarının derinlemesine analiz edilmesi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğrencilerin ondalık sayılar konusunda kavram yanılgılarına ve hatalara sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilerle gerçekleştirilen görüşmeler sonucunda kavram yanılgıları hakkında detaylı bilgiler elde edilmiştir., The purpose of this work is to determine the errors and conceptual mistakes of 4th and 5th grade students on decimal numbers in primary school education. Methodology employed in this work is scan modelling that combines qualitative and quantities methods and targets to reveal the current situation of the students. The students used as samples in this work are formed by 119 4th grade and 110 5th grade students, 229 in total, in various schools in Bornova in Izmir. The scanning method was used for the quantitative part of the study. After I consulted 3 mathematics teachers that are experts on mathematics education, for the quantitative part of this work, I developed and conducted three-levelled misconception and error test formed by twenty four questions. There is a one multiple choice question in the first level. In the following level, students were asked to explain the reasons for their answers in the first level. In the last level, it is asked to students whether they were certain about the answers they gave. In the conclusion of the application conducted, reliability index (kr-20) of the measurement method is found as 0.86. For the qualitative part of this thesis, I conducted interview with 10 students who had misconception after the test. With the help of the interviews, a deep analysis of those concept fallacies that students had is presented. In conclusion, it has been confirmed that students had misconceptions and errors on decimal numbers. After the interviews, detailed information has been obtained about the concept fallacies.

Bu araştırma; ilköğretim sekizinci sınıftaki olasılık konusunda; öğrencilerin karşılaştıkları hatalarını ve kavram yanılgılarını tespit etmek, olasılık konusundaki hataların ve kavram yanılgılarının giderilmesine katkıda bulunmak, olasılık konusundaki hataları ve kavram yanılgıları ile ilgili yapılacak çalışmalara örnek teşkil etmek açısından önemli görülmüştür.Araştırma, Manisa'nın Alaşehir ilçe merkezindeki 7 ilköğretim okulunda 8. sınıflarda öğrenim gören toplam 349 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür.Veri toplama aracını geliştirmek için, uygulama öncesinde ilköğretim matematik öğretmenleri ile nitel görüşmeler yapılarak; öğrencilerin olasılık konusundaki karşılaştıkları hataları ve kavram yanılgıları belirlenmiştir. Araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış ilköğretim matematik programında belirtilen amaç ve davranışları kapsayan 8. sınıf düzeyine uygun 25 açık uçlu sorudan oluşan veri toplama aracı 3 uzman görüşü alınarak geliştirilmiştir. Veri toplama aracının son hali 31 öğrenci üzerinde pilot çalışması olarak uygulanmıştır. Her öğrencinin kâğıdı, araştırmacının geliştirdiği rubriğe göre iki matematik öğretmeni tarafından değerlendirilmiştir. Veri toplama aracının güvenirliği Miles ve Huberman(1994)'nın formülü ile hesaplanarak güvenirlik katsayısı 0,83 olarak bulunmuştur.Veri toplama aracı yeterli sayıda çoğaltılarak Alaşehir ilçesinde yer alan ve rastgele seçilen 7 merkez okulunda 8. sınıflarda öğrenim görmekte olan 349 öğrenci üzerinde uygulanmıştır.Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda; öğrencilerin olasılık çeşitlerinden, deneysel ve teorik olasılığı ayırt etmede kavram yanılgısına düştükleri görülmüştür. Bağımlı ve bağımsız olayları açıklamada yanılgıya düşen öğrenciler olasılık hesaplamalarında da yanılgıya düşmektedirler. Permütasyon ve kombinasyon konusunda kavram yanılgısına düşen öğrenciler seçimin önemli olduğu sorularda permütasyon, sıralamanın önemli olduğu sorularda ise kombinasyon cevabını vermiştir. Kombinasyon kavramını iyi bilmeyen öğrenciler kombinasyon problemi kuramamıştır. Öğrencilerdeki işlem hataları kesirlerde sadeleştirmede ve çarpma işlemlerinde görülmüştür, kavram hataları ise konuyu bilmediklerinden kaynaklanmaktadır. This study has been taken care of probablity in eighth grade to find mistakes of concept, assist of removing the mistakes and misconceptions in probablity, to give example to studies done for students.The study has been done for 349 eighth grade students in totally who receive education in seven primary education schools in the center of Alaşehir.To develop data collection tool, the mistakes and misconceptions about in probablity has been determined making qualitative conversations with Maths teacher in primary schools before application. Data collection tool, containing primary school curriculum and behaviours prepared by researcher and formed twenty five open-ended questions convenient to eighth grades, has been developed by the help of three expert views. The last form of data collection tool has been applied to 31 students as a pilot study.Each of student?s paper has been evaluated by two Maths teacher according to rubric developed by researcher. The factor of reliability of questions has been found as 0.83 calculated with Miles and Huberman?s formula (1994). Data collection tool, copying enough amounts, has been applied to 349 eighth grade students receiving education in seven center primary schools choosen randomly.As a result of findings, It has been seen that students came into misconceptions related to empirical and theorical possibility in the point of various possibility. Students, making misconceptions while explaining the dependent and independent events and at the same time calculating the possibility, too. Students, making misconceptions , gave answer permutation in the questions in which choice is important and combination in the questions in which sorting is important. Students ,not knowing well the concept of combination, couldnt form a combination problem. Students? process mistakes have been seen in simplification of fraction and multiplication however their concept mistakes base on insufficient knowledges. 85

Balıkesir Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, Ortaöğretim Fen ve Matematik Alanlar Eğitimi Ana Bilim Dalı, Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin analizin temel konularından biri olan limit hakkındaki kavram yanılgılarını belirlemektir. 2006-2007 öğretim yılının ikinci döneminde, 34 matematik öğretmenliği birinci sınıf, 30 matematik öğretmenliği beşinci sınıf, 12 fen bilgisi öğretmenliği birinci sınıf ve 30 bilgisayar öğretmenliği birinci sınıf öğrencisi olmak üzere, 106 üniversite öğrencisiyle çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışmasıdır. Araştırmacı tarafından, öğrencilerin ön bilgilerini ölçmek için limit ön test, limit konusundaki kavram yanılgılarını belirlemek için limit diagnostik test ve öğrencilerin işlemsel hatalarını belirlemek için limit işlemsel test geliştirilerek uygulanmıştır. Limit ön test ve limit işlemsel testin verileri yüzde ve frekans olarak analiz edilmiştir. Limit diagnostik testin verileri ise 5'li rubrik geliştirilerek analiz edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak çalışmada, öğrencilerin limit ve limitle ilgili bazı temel kavramlar hakkında kavram yanılgılarına sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Bunlar epsilon-delta tanımı, limit kavramı tanımı, fonksiyonun bir noktadaki limitinin varlığı, sağdan ve soldan limit kavramları, limit ve süreklilik kavramları arasındaki ilişki, bir fonksiyonun bir noktada tanımlı olması, fonksiyon grafiklerinin çizimi, sonsuz kavramının anlaşılması ve işlemlerde kullanılması ile ilgili hata ve kavram yanılgılarıdır. Bu sonuçların literatüre uygun olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışmanın sonunda, elde edilen bulgulara göre bazı önerilere yer verilmiştir., The aim of this study is to identify the university students' misconceptions about limit that is one of the main subjects of calculus. The study is carried out with 106 university students who are 34 freshman mathematics teacher candidates, 30 senior mathematics teacher candidates, 12 freshman science teacher candidates and 30 freshman computer teacher candidates in the second term in 2006-2007 academic year. The study is a case study that is one of the qualitative research methods. A limit pre-test to measure the students' prior knowledges, a limit diagnostic test to identify the students' misconceptions, a limit operational test to identify the students' computational errors were designed by the researcher. Data of the limit pre-test and the operational limit test were analyzed as percent and frequency. Data of limit diagnostic test were analyzed by developing a rubric that have 5 items. As a result of the study, some misconceptions that students have about limit and some main concepts related to limit have been identified. These are errors and misconceptions about epsilon-delta definition, definition of limit concept, a function's limit at a point, limits on the right and the left, relation between limit and continuity concepts, a function that is defined at one point, graphing functions, understanding of infinite concept and using it at operations. It has been seen that these results fit relevant literature. At the end of this study, according the findings obtained from the study some recommendations have been placed.
