Objectives: This study aimed to assess country-specific evidence of physical and non-physical acts of workplace violence towards nurses working in the health sector in 5 European countries, and then to identify reasons for not reporting violence experienced at work. Material and Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted in 5 participating countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Turkey, and Spain). All registered nurses working in selected healthcare settings for at least 1 year were invited to participate in the study. A questionnaire adapted from the Workplace Violence in the Health Sector Country Case Study – Questionnaire, developed jointly by the International Labour Office, the International Council of Nurses, the World Health Organization and Public Services International, was used. The selection of healthcare settings and the distribution of the questionnaire were conducted according to the recommendations of the questionnaire authors. Results: In total, 1089 nurses submitted completed questionnaires which could be included in the study. Of these, 54% stated that they had been exposed to non-physical violence and 20% had been exposed to physical violent acts. A total of 15% of the surveyed nurses experienced both forms of workplace violence. In addition, 18% of the respondents confirmed having witnessed physical violence in their workplace. The most common perpetrators were patients and patients’ relatives. In about 70% of these cases, no actions were taken after the act of violence to investigate its causes. About half of the study group did not report workplace violence as they believed it was useless or not important. The most common consequences of workplace violence included being “super-alert” or watchful and on guard. Conclusions: Nurses internationally are both victims of and witnesses to workplace violence. Workplace violence is often seen by nurses as an occupational hazard and, as such, it remains not reported. The first step in preventing workplace violence is not only to acknowledge its existence but also to ensure the appropriate reporting of violent acts. © 2020 Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine. Utredningen pekar på vilka egenskaper som är viktiga för ett väl fungerande kontor. Resultatet av utredningen pekar på att en flytt till nya lokaler skulle innebära att kontoret ses som en mer attraktiv arbetsplats. En flytt skulle också innebära att företaget kan spegla sin vision genom kontoret och att nuvarande personal ges bästa förutsättningar för att leverera konkurrenskraftiga tjänster. TM Konsult is a Norrland-based architect and engineering company operating in all disciplines in the early stages and project management. To act as a competitive company in the field of projecting in Sweden, a series of ingredients is needed. Some of these are modern working methods, modern tools and skilled personnel. TM Konsults office in Härnösand is the company’s most southern office and the branch competing for the jobs in the local area and Stockholm. The office is from a strategic point of view important for the company. To ensure that the competitiveness of the office is in line with the required, actions needs to be taken. An office that attracts the staff needed is necessary for the office to grow. This thesis investigates the possibilities regarding a modernization of TM Konsults premises in Härnösand. The study points to the characteristics that is important for a well-functioning office. The results of the investigation indicate that a move to new premises would mean that the office is seen as a more attractive workplace. A move would also mean that the company vision can be reflected through the office and that the current staff is given the best conditions to deliver competitive services.

Se hace una revisión de las circunstancias que motivan al personal a realizar correctamente su trabajo, las cuales son diferentes para cada persona, y varían de acuerdo a las necesidades, valores sociales, y capacidades de cada individuo. El conocimiento básico de las necesidades de cada persona ayuda a las jefaturas a motivar a los empleados que tienen a su cargo. Se realiza una comparación del personal de dos servicios de diferentes instituciones en la cual se analizan elementos satisfactores e insatisfactores del medio ambiente laboral. A check up of the situation is done, which involves the circumstances that motivate the staff to do correctly their work, which are different in each case, and may vary to the needs, social value and capability of each employee. The basic knowledge of every person's needs helps a great deal to their employers, because they can find the right ways to motivate their employees in charge. A comparisson between two different institutions is done , in which the satisfactory and insactisfactory elements are analized in their working enviroment.
