This study aims to explore how the framing of Islamic radicalism through the reporting of the group "ISIS" in two online media, namely in Republika.com and Tempo.co with an impartiality perspective. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by using a discourse strategy that sees the text and its context as information that contributes to communicating the contents of the message. Primary and secondary data are obtained from news curators, online portals, and library studies. While the unit of analysis is ISIS radicalism news in Republika.co.id and Tempo.co in the period of August to December 2014 that falls within the three criteria of radicalism news, namely acts of violence, beliefs championed, old-fashioned views or rigid thoughts that underlie acts of violence using techniques framing analysis of Gamson and Modigliani models. The results showed that news about radical "ISIS" included in the category of news construction that was emotional, sadistic, provocative and without confirmation. In addition, the quality of reporting often adorns with words that appear hyperbole and bombastic, the coverage is less profound and changes in a matter of minutes. The trend of Tempo.co and Republika.co.id dramatizes and exaggerates what happens in conflict areas by using connoted language rather than language that has a literal meaning. Then it has not fulfilled the principle of impartiality of news which can be seen from the neutrality and balance of news that determines the quality of reporting.

This research tries to reveal how Muslim teenagers' perceptions and interpretations of hoax news are often circulating in social media. The phenomenon of hoax spreads or false information gets a big moment when social media becomes very common on the internet. People become agents of hoax distribution because they believe in hoax content. Young teenagers are considered the most vulnerable affected by false or hoax news because the characteristics tend to be explorative, always curious, easily influenced, and tend to receive just the contents of the media. It may pose a latent danger and potentially divisive perceptions of society. This research uses Stimulus, Organism, and Response (SOR) theory through qualitative approaches. Data was collected through the FGD method, observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation by using purposive sampling. Meanwhile, to ensure the validity of the data, it is done with the triangulation of data and sources. The results revealed a relationship between understandings of the hoax with the rejection of hoax. It suggests that hoaxes as false news are designed to pose a threat to social life. The study concluded that people, especially Muslim youth, reexamine the truth of the information with "Tabayyun. It also increases digital literacy to be smart and critical in the media. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengungkap bagaimana persepsi dan interpretasi remaja muslim mengenai berita hoaks yang kerap beredar di media sosial Fenomena penyebaran hoaks atau berita bohong mendapat momen besar ketika media sosial menjadi sangat umum berkembang di zaman internet. Masyarakat menjadi agen penyebaran Hoaks karena percaya dengan konten hoaks. Kalangan remaja remaja dinilai paling rentan terpengaruh berita bohong atau hoaks karena karakteristiknya cenderung eksploratif, selalu ingin tahu, mudah terpengaruh dan cenderung menerima begitu saja isi media. Ini dapat menimbulkan bahaya laten dan beragam persepsi yang berpotensi memecah belah masyarakat. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan teori Stimulus, Organisme dan Respon (SOR) melalui pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan melalui, metode FGD, Observasi, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sementara itu, untuk menjamin validitas data, dilakukan dengan triangulasi data dan sumber. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan terdapat hubungan antara pemahaman terhadap hoaks dengan penolakan terhadap hoaks. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hoaks sebagai berita bohong yang terdesain menjadi ancaman bagi kehidupan sosial. Penelitian menyimpulkan agar masyarakat khususnya remaja muslim memeriksa kembali kebenaran sebuah berita dengan “Tabayyun. Selain itu juga meningkatkan literasi digital agar dapat pintar dan kritis dalam bermedia.

This research tries to reveal the trends and tendency of research studies conducted by the authors published in the journal of communication science incorporated in the Association of Journal Management Science Communication Indonesia (APJIKI). The publication demands made by the academic community of Higher Education give a considerable impact on the awareness of the lecturers the importance of conducting studies, research and writing scientific papers. Communication science study progressed along with the development of communication technology. The development of this communication study coloring the writing of scientific articles in the form of research and articles in communication journals, then this research synthesizes the results of writing in scientific journals in the field of communication science contained in APJIKI (Association of Publishers Journal of Communication Science) in Indonesia by using perspective approaches seven traditions in communication namely, semiotics, phenomenology, cybernetic, psychological social, socio-cultural, critical and rhetoric. This study is using a quantitative and qualitative approach, data obtained through the dissemination of an online questionnaire and interview. The results showed that the scope of research studies for communication journals incorporated in APJIKI year 2016 more inclined on the study Public Relations (PR). While the form of communication studies that ranked first in 2016 is a study on the form of mass communication.

Citizen Journalism phenomenon became a trend in the world of journalism and became a new public space for society. One of the mainstream media that is Tribun Jogja newspaper adopted the trend into its rubric called Citizen Journalism rubric. In practice, however, there is an enormous amount of preaching incompatible with the essential meaning of citizen journalism and the public space itself. Where it tends to be very flat and descriptive does not touch on the essence of the meaning of public space is the discussion process that prioritizes rational and critical debate and still apply the process of screening and editing by editors. This is in stark contrast to the spirit of the presence of citizen journalism that is free from any intervention, freely voicing opinions, interactivity, unlimited space, no competition between authors, and no strict detection of news content. Based on this assumption, this research will try to uncover how the existence of public space through Citizen Journalism rubric of Tribun Jogja in the period of one year since its presence which is from 2011 to 2012. Data obtained through in-depth interviews and documentation in the form of Citizen Journalism rubric in Tribun Jogja. Data analysis using three stages of discourse analysis on the news consisting of text analysis, social cognition, and social context. This study reinforces the fact that mainstream media is not a free and neutral channel, but a tool of dominant groups and also produces dominant ideologies. So put the rubric named citizen journalism into utopia. Recommendations for editors Citizen Journalism and Koran Tribun Jogja, should provide more news coverage space both in print and online editions, and submit the management of Citizen Journalism rubric to outsiders who have no direct ties with the media concerned, so that the dimension of independence can Achieved. Fenomena Citizen Journalism menjadi trend dalam dunia jurnalisme dan menjadi ruang publik baru bagi masyarakat. Salah satu media mainstream yaitu koran Tribun Jogja mengadopsi tren tersebut ke dalam rubriknya yang dinamakan rubrik Citizen journalism. Namun dalam prakteknya, terdapat banyak sekali kecenderungan pemberitaan yang tidak sesuai dengan makna hakiki dari citizen journalism dan ruang publik itu sendiri. Dimana cenderung sangat datar dan deskriptif tidak menyentuh pada esensi dari makna ruang publik yaitu pada proses diskusi yang megedepankan debat rasional dan kritis serta masih diberlakukannya proses penseleksian dan editing oleh redakturnya. Hal ini sangat kontras dengan semangat hadirnya citizen journalism yang bersifat bebas dari intervensi siapapun, menyuarakan pendapat secara leluasa, interaktifitas, tidak terbatasi oleh halaman (unlimited space), tidak ada persaingan antar penulis, dan tidak adanya penseleksian ketat terhadap konten beritanya. Berdasarkan asumsi tersebut penelitian ini akan mencoba membongkar dan menggambarkan bagaimana eksistensi ruang publik melalui rubrik Citizen Journalism Tribun Jogja dalam kurun waktu tiga tahun sejak kehadirannya yaitu mulai 2011 hingga 2012. Penelitian ini menguatkan fakta bahwa media mainstream bukanlah saluran yang bebas dan netral, melainkan sebuah alat dari kelompok dominan dan juga memproduksi ideologi dominan. Sehingga menempatkan rubrik yang bernama citizen journalism menjadi utopia. Rekomendasi bagi redaktur rubrik Citizen Journalism dan Koran Tribun Jogja, sebaiknya memberikan space pemberitaan rubrik ini lebih banyak lagi baik pada edisi cetak maupun online, dan menyerahkan pengelolaan rubrik Citizen Journalism pada pihak luar yang tidak memiliki ikatan langsung dengan media yang bersangkutan, sehingga dimensi independensi dapat tercapai.

Gender stereotypes in television advertising have become a topic of a long debate, especially among media scholars. The case became a serious problem, because of gender bias ads will affect the way we think about the role and way of functioning of gender in society. This study describes how television commercials have given gender role stereotypes against women. It is becoming important to be studied further to see how people receive messages about gender norms. This study uses descriptive analytical method that aims to describe forms of stereotypical representations of women in television commercials. Research results obtained are in the advertising power generating imaging products has been taking part in cultivating stereotypes that have been embedded in women. Social symbols that had been attached to female and then processed further creatively by the advertisers to bring more products to be offered by the willingness of consumers. Products are offered in the form of soaps, detergents, Handbody, supplements are powerful medicine, food and other women always use the icon as a significant sales tool. In this postmodern era, technology has growing very rapidly so as to bring peoples into the digital world (cyberspace), a new space to present a virtual and provide free space for each individual to take any action which lasts reality simulation. The development of digital technology has brought the fantasy of man through the boundaries, creating spaces of the three following dimensions of objects in it, up to the stage where virtual reality has exceeded the manipulation of visual imagery so as man stepped from the real world to the fantasy world, the virtual world look real. Specifically, this paper will discuss how the phenomenon of virtual reality coupled with the tangible reality by reviewing the virtual communication through social media in cyberspace. The discussion will begin discussing the virtual communication through new media (internet), and on the establishment of the identity of identity both real and virtual identities. After that will be presented theory and hyper-reality simulation of Jean Baudrillard. the end of the discussion concluded that digitization in all areas such as a virus that slowly destroys human undetected, it offers the freedom and convenience of the virtual (pseudo) but behind it is actually a human being in hegemony, arranged and put into a structured system. then to minimize misperceptions, prejudices and misunderstandings we should establish a balanced communication link between the real world and the virtual world
