The changing of times is something that irresistible. These developments affect many aspects of human life. Furthermore, many issues arise in line with current developments that require Islamic legal answers. Therefore, a current form of ijtihad is very necessary. Thus, this study will examine the concept of current ijtihad and its urgencies nowadays. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach, the library data were used fully and analyzed inductively and deductively. The results of the study have outlined the current concept of ijtihad, its form, needs and approach. It is an important thing to underline in performing current ijtihad, especially in the Malaysian context.

This study aims to see the extent of the application of ICT in the ALIVE program at Munoz Central School, as well as its effectiveness in the use of ICT. Furthermore, this study uses a mixed methods research design with a sequential explanatory approach. The sample of this study were students who took the ALIVE pro-gram at Munoz Central School. Quantitative and qualitative results indicate that the implementation of ICT in the ALIVE program is already good, it can be seen from the utilization of some ICT features performed by the teacher, as well as the effectiveness of ICT, where the presence of ICT in ALIVE learning is very helpful in the learning process. This certainly indicates that the use of ICT in the ALIVE program at Munoz Central School is good but needs improving that the learning that is carried out is even more increasing. With the increased use and facilities of the ICT in the ALIVE program, of course, it will make learning much better in the future and requires the attention of various related stakeholders.

This article discusses the financial stability of Islamic banking in Malaysia by focusing on the analysis of current perspectives. In addition, it also discusses the references used to describe Islamic-based financial stability. To achieve this objective, this study would analyse the resources to ascertain the arguments on how such financial stability is viewed from an Islamic perspective. This study was conducted using a qualitative method through library research by searching for references from sources such as al-Qurʼan and its interpretation, al-Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and also arguments by Islamic scholars. The results of this study showed that certain texts in al-Qurʼan and al-Hadith, as well as the views of scholars, acknowledge that financial stability has a strong foundation based on authentic sources. In the context of Islamic banking in Malaysia, various aspects need to be taken into account to ensure that these banking institutions continue to remain relevant in the domestic and international financial arena. In this regard, to ensure the stability and strength of Islamic banking institutions in Malaysia, these institutions need to fully adapt the banking model recommended by the shariʻah, which would not only strengthen this industry but also make it capable of facing challenges and being resistant to financial crises and economic imbalances.

Islam in Malaysia has a unique historical background. The question on howIslam came to Malay Archipelago is still debated and has yet to be explaineddefinitively. Throughout history, many entities have contributed in terms ofhow Islam came to be accepted, spread and practiced, and unltimately attainedofficial status in Malaysia. The role and contribution of royal institutions inspreading and protecting Islam is significant and well documented. This articleanalyses the role of the Pahang sultanate in spreading Islam in that state. Itreviews that role from different viewpoints, such as relations between the Sultanand Islamic scholars (ulama), the Hukum Kanun Pahang (Canonical Lawof Pahang), the role of Sultan as defined in the state constitution, and hiscontributions to the maintenance of Islam in the Malay Archipelago.Keywords: The Sultanate of Pahang, the spreading of Islam, ulama’, the Lawof Pahang.

The study aims to investigate the significance of the executing of ‘waqf irsod’ in Malaysia. In general, the implementation of ‘waqf irsod’ occurs when the ‘Baitulmal’ or local authority donates for the construction of important infrastructures for the benefit of Muslims. The issue here is, on the slow progress of ‘waqf irsod’ practiced in Malaysia although its importance is in immediate need to the context of thinking development and infrastructure of the contemporary Islamic societies. A qualitative study using library research methods in collecting relevant data. The data were generated through the inductive, deductive and comparative methods. The study found that ‘waqf irsod’ plays a big role in sustaining the development of Muslims in Malaysia in view of the current market’s price of lands is too expensive. Therefore, the authorities and non-governmental organizations must work closely to deliver the system to promote the implementation of the ‘waqf irsod.’

Socio-cultural interaction has formed transfers, borrowing and cultural imitation between one society to another. This process generates symptoms of sameness or in the jurisprudence terminology it’s called as al-tasyabbuh. Basically not all tasyabbuh are prohibited as long it can contribute a benefit to the Islamic society, while tasyabbuh are not permissible which the symptoms that can harm the Islamic society, such as the imitation of non-Muslim way of life, their festivals and customs practices. This imitation will eradicate the identity of Islamic society. Therefore, this research will discuss about the perspective of Ibn Taymiyyah on tasyabbuh upon his work on Iqtida' al-Sirat al-Mustaqim Mukhalafah li Ashab al-Jahim. In most of the discussion of his work, Ibn Taymiyyah focuses on al-tasyabbuh in the issues which related to the practice among Muslims and non-Muslims. He explores the interpretation of the verses of the Qur'an, Hadith and athar of the Companions which parallel with tasyabbuh. It was found that he had a fixed and rigid perspective according to imitate (tasyabbuh) the non-Muslims, especially in their religious aspects.

Zakah (Islamic almsgiving) on shares are generally mentioned indirectly in classical fiqh books. This is due to the fact that the practice of shares is relatively new in classical Islamic jurisprudence literature. However, the basis of the debate on shares can be traced to its establishment and development in the classical fiqh discourse. Muslim individual and Muslim-operated companies have been involved in investment and share-trading, thus creating the debate of zakah on shares in Malaysia. Therefore, the objective of this study is to highlight the discussion of zakah on shares based on the reality in Malaysia. The focus of the debate will touch the aspects of legal shares, fiqh of zakah and its method of calculation.

Islamic jurisprudence is a dynamic system. It is facilitated by some flexible methodologies. Nowadays, there are varieties of issues in Muslims’ societies that are results or implications of developments in science and technology, and also results of changes that happen in the structures of the societies. In order to face this reality, a contemporary integrated approach has to be applied in Islamic Jurisprudence's research process. Hence, this paper will elaborate the integrated approaches that try to unify and integrate theories in Islamic jurisprudence with social research methods. Basically, there are models that have been introduced by several scholars that relate to this integrated approach. All of the models have their own strength and weakness in these approaches. This paper attempts to analyze the integration of Islamic jurisprudence theories with the gender analysis method and its relation to social critics methods. This is related to an issue in fiqh pertaining to polygamy that is always being debated nowadays and also to analyze the applicability of the practice in the social and contemporary conditions of our soceity.
