The article reports on the status of voice Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems in the consumer electronics market in the U.S. According to reports, VoIP continues to grow despite of the fact that manufacturers consider 2007 as the worst time for consumer electronics. However, despite the negative news, subscriber and revenue totals increased steadily because of advances by cable companies in rolling out digital voice services. It also adds that in the third quarter of 2007, VoIP providers added 1.5 million new lines, followed by the increase of its subscribers in the U.S. with 13.5 million.
