IoT is a network of physical objects, devices that contain embedded technologies such as sensors, controllers, etc., which can sense, communicate, and interact with the system to carry out desired operations. The advancement in technology over the past years has provided a new era for computational processing and sensing to facilitate the vision of a smart environment. Researchers have put several efforts to use IoT to facilitate our lives. This paper purposes on an integrated smart environment using IoT. Various sectors such as agriculture, transportation, garbage collection, security issues, sensors, etc. are discussed along with the key technologies including RFID, IP, EPC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and ZigBee. This study explores how smart irrigation systems can be improved by introducing advanced technologies and reducing water consumption to fight climate change. This study aims to identify the factors affecting the success of smart irrigation systems based on the Internet of Things with the mediation of optimal consumption management. This is an applied research employing mixed methodologies (qualitative-quantitative). Initially, the semi-structured interviews were carried out to obtain the effective success factors of the smart irrigation system. Analysis in the qualitative section has been conducted using the Maxqda software. For the quantitative study, a 25-statement questionnaire was applied according to the selected codes obtained with a fivepoint Likert scale to validate the obtained model. The questionnaire was distributed online in January 2023, and analysis was conducted using SmartPLS3 software. The technical aspects of the questionnaire were assessed using validity and reliability criteria, which can guarantee the precision of the research findings. Construct and content validity were employed in this study to examine the questionnaire's validity. The researchers employed Cronbach's alpha coefficient to evaluate the reliability of the measurement instrument. Besides, it can be said that the research instrument has acceptable reliability because obtained Cronbach's alpha for all variables was greater than 0.70 and the questionnaire's overall alpha was determined to be 0.810. Furthermore, the t-statistics for all research hypotheses is higher than 1.96 at the 95% confidence level. In this sense, the hypotheses of the research were confirmed. The Internet of Things and will change the nature of activities and services in the market. In fact, for emerging markets, the untapped and growing investment opportunities and the economic leap against the Internet of Things are so enticing and facilitating that it is impossible to resist. and neglecting it will cause irreparable damage to agility. Therefore, the success of the Internet of Things for emerging markets depends on the preconditions of integration of activities carried out by decision-making organizations, facilitation of regulations, and communication and interaction between relevant sectors, which should be considered a priority through cross-sectoral research. Internet of Things (IoT) facilitates connectivity in businesses and smart homes by integrating embedded technology, wireless sensor networks and data aggregation. Regular monitoring of energy usage in IoT networks is crucial due to the high energy consumption and delays in transmitting data to the Base Station (BS) by the sensor nodes. The most significant challenges in IoT include energy depletion and transmission delays. In this research, the proposed Differential Evolution with Sailfish Optimization (DESFO) model addresses large network handling, achieves maximum convergence rates, and reduces energy consumption. The Differential Evolution (DE) mutation and crossover operators enhance exploration capabilities, while SFO adaptive movement strategies improve the exploitation of the search space. Together, they achieve high convergence rates, prevent falling into local optima, provide iterative control and manage high-dimensional networks effectively. The DESFO method exhibits superior performance when compared to the existing methods, Firefly Optimization and Aquila Optimization (FF-AO), Fixed-Parameter Tractable Approximation Clustering (FPTAC), and Cluster based Reliable Data Aggregation-Sunflower Optimization (CRDA-SFO). The proposed DESFO method yields impressive results, achieving a Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) of 96.12% at 250 nodes, a Delay of 3ms at 250node, Energy consumption of 12J at 250 respectively. The rapid advancements in Agriculture 4.0 have led to the development of the continuous monitoring of the soil parameters and recommend crops based on soil fertility to improve crop yield. Accordingly, the soil parameters, such as pH, nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, and soil moisture are exploited for irrigation control, followed by the crop recommendation of the agricultural field. The smart irrigation control is performed utilizing the Interactive guide optimizer-Deep Convolutional Neural Network (Interactive guide optimizer-DCNN), which supports the decision-making regarding the soil nutrients. Specifically, the Interactive guide optimizer-DCNN classifier is designed to replace the standard ADAM algorithm through the modeled interactive guide optimizer, which exhibits alertness and guiding characters from the nature-inspired dog and cat population. In addition, the data is down-sampled to reduce redundancy and preserve important information to improve computing performance. The designed model attains an accuracy of 93.11 % in predicting the minerals, pH value, and soil moisture thereby, exhibiting a higher recommendation accuracy of 97.12% when the model training is fixed at 90%. Further, the developed model attained the F-score, specificity, sensitivity, and accuracy values of 90.30%, 92.12%, 89.56%, and 86.36% with k-fold 10 in predicting the minerals that revealed the efficacy of the model. This paper presents here a novel electrical sensor for detecting alcohol concentration in the exhale of an individual. We highlight fabrication of the sensor followed by subsequent assemblage into a handheld unit. The prototype yields a remarkable sensitivity along with a linear range of ~ 250–800 ppm. Additionally, we demonstrate the implementation of it in the helmet of a biker—which is further validated by in situ results related to monitoring exhale activity of few subjects. Through proper tuning with the ignition control system, the prototype can act as a protective gear for drunken drivers. Once the concentration of alcohol is sensed above a permissible level, the ignition system can be momentarily stopped; thereby averting plausible accidents. Food processing is an indispensable sector crucial for controlling the food losses. Discrete measures were introduced and implemented to enhance the food shelf life and preservation techniques. However, poor handling and preservation methods usher to the food deprivation. In such milieu, amalgamation of futuristic technologies like sophisticated sensors tether with Internet of Things (IoT) could shoot up the food safety and minimize the deprivation. Research across the globe have proved that integration of IoT‐smart sensors in scrutinizing ecological factors such as temperature, radiation, gaseous composition, relative humidity, and moisture content that are critical for food processing and preservation. In the field of e-healthcare, smart medical sensors are responsible for consistently collecting, transmitting, and communicating real-time data to support immediate decision-making, both within and between healthcare organizations. Privacy-preserving authentication is required, even when the sensors roam between different networks. Existing authentication protocols rely on centralized authentication servers and pose a number of challenges, including a single point of failure, performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and privacy concerns. Hence, a secure mutual authentication mechanism using Blockchain is essential in preventing attacks. In this paper, an Improved Chain Code Blockchain-based Key Agreement Authentication Mechanism (CCBKAAM) using the merits of SM9-based Secure Threshold Ring Signature (SM9-STRS) is proposed for achieving privacy and security. This proposed mechanism uses multiple key generation-based cipher identification algorithms for parameter maintenance. The integrated threshold ring signature prevents the limitations of the single key generation scheme. It uses Chain Codes over the Ethereum network for constructing the blocks during the process of mutual user authentication with trust equity score-based Improved PBFT Voting protocol for reaching consensus during authentication. This authentication protocol adopted blockchain for the objective of storing the identities and associated parameters to support the entities under communication during the process of authentication. The formal and informal verification of the proposed CCBKAAM confirmed its potentiality in resisting most of the possible attacks the IoMT is vulnerable to. The communication and computation overhead during the implementation are determined to be significantly lowered by 32.19% and 28.94%, better than the compared baseline blockchain-based mutual authentication. Irrigation refers to supplying water to soil through pipes, pumps, and spraying systems to ensure even distribution across the field. In traditional farming or gardening, the setup and usage of an agricultural irrigation system solely rely on the personal experience of farmers. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN) has projected that by 2030, developing countries will expand their irrigated areas by 34%, while water consumption will only be up 14%. This discrepancy highlights the importance of accurately monitoring water flow and volume rather than people's rough estimations. The smart irrigation systems, a key subsystem of smart agriculture known as the cyber–physical system (CPS) in the agriculture domain, automate the administration of water flow, volume, and timing via using cutting-edge technologies, especially the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, to solve the challenges. This study explores a comprehensive three-dimensional problem space to thoroughly analyze the IoT's applications in irrigation systems. Our framework encompasses several critical domains in smart irrigation systems. These domains include soil science, sensor technology, communication protocols, data analysis techniques, and the practical implementations of automated irrigation systems, such as remote monitoring, autonomous operation, and intelligent decision-making processes. In order to improve the multi-sensor intelligent control performance of environmental pollution detection, this paper proposes a design model of environmental pollution detection intelligent system based on Internet of Things technology. Firstly, this paper uses ZigBee's Internet of Things networking technology to design the network of the pollution detection system. Secondly, in order to verify the effectiveness of the environmental pollution detection method, this paper carries out system debugging analysis and simulation test, and uses visual dsp++simulation system to debug the system. The network of ZigBee Internet of Things networking technology is adopted to realize the network design of pollution detection system, and VIX bus technology is adopted to carry out environmental pollution detection data communication and information processing, so as to realize the optimal design of intelligent system of environmental pollution detection system. Finally, the experimental test and analysis were performed. The collection period of environmental pollution data is 10 s and the monitoring time is 22 h. Finally, according to the environmental model and parameters, we determine that the system can accurately detect environmental pollution information, and the results are accurate and reliable. The wireless body area network (WBAN) has emerged as a promising networking paradigm thanks to embedded systems, integrated circuit technologies, and wireless communications advancements. WBAN has the ability to send real-time biomedical data to remote medical personnel for clinical diagnostics through intelligent medical sensors in or around the patient's body. Moreover, WBANs have played an increasingly important role in modern medical systems over the past decade as part of the Internet of Things (IoT). In addition to their conveniences, WBANs present us with the data confidentiality challenge and protecting patient's privacy. The system requires a robust security mechanism to protect against threats because of the massive production of delay-sensitive data. This article presents a quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol-based authentication scheme for secure communication within WBAN infrastructure to prevent attacks and provide services free of security risks. To the best of our knowledge, we proposed a privacy preserving quantum authentication scheme for secure data sharing in WBANs to enhance security by encrypting medical data and safeguarding patients identities. Simulations conducted using Mathematica evaluate the proposed quantum authentication protocol both theoretically and practically, showing strong encryption performance against recent schemes. Results include computational cost of 6.832 ms, communication costs of 588 bits, and energy consumption of 432.98 μ J indicating the proposed quantum authentication protocol model exhibits superior reliability, feasibility, and efficiency in safeguarding WBAN data during transmission and storage. The adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the mining industry can dramatically enhance the safety of workers while simultaneously decreasing monitoring costs. By implementing an IoT solution consisting of a number of interconnected smart devices and sensors, mining industries can improve response times during emergencies and also reduce the number of accidents, resulting in an overall improvement of the social image of mines. Thus, in this paper, a robust end-to-end IoT system for supporting workers in harsh environments such as in mining industries is presented. The full IoT solution includes both edge devices worn by the workers in the field and a remote cloud IoT platform, which is responsible for storing and efficiently sharing the gathered data in accordance with regulations, ethics, and GDPR rules. Extended experiments conducted to validate the IoT components both in the laboratory and in the field proved the effectiveness of the proposed solution in monitoring the real-time status of workers in mines. Sensor clouds are formed by IP-enabled wireless sensors and Internet of Things devices that are used for sensing and actuation in commercial and industrial applications. Data collected by the sensors are consolidated by distributed cloud data consolidation (DCS) servers to be utilized as raw sensory information by applications running data analytics and actuation functions. Alternatively, DC servers may feed sensor data to the cloud-hosted Big Data Analytics (BDS) servers. Sensor clouds and their respective DCS servers, as well as BDS servers, may form different security realms. These security realms' ownership structures are complicated and differ from standard database servers, necessitating a dependable authentication technique to provide trusted access to DC and BDS servers. This paper proposes a new multiparty authentication framework to authenticate applications requesting access to the DCS and BDS servers without direct human or application access to the sensors and actuators. Only DC servers are permitted to communicate with sensors/actuators, and only applications certified by a Session Authority Cloud are granted access to DCS/BDS servers via an authentication protocol that includes many information and key exchanges. This solution may assure the reliable deployment of sensor clouds in different critical application domains (i.e., industry, commercial, national security, and defense, etc.) while reducing the potential of direct espionage of sensed/actuated systems. Linear Temporal Logic is used to explicitly analyze and establish the correctness of the presented framework. Detecting anomalies in patterns of sensor data is important in many practical applications, including domestic activity monitoring for Active Assisted Living (AAL). How to represent and analyse these patterns, however, remains a challenging task, especially when data is relatively scarce and an explicit model is required to be fine-tuned for specific scenarios. This paper, therefore, presents a new approach for temporal modelling of long-term human activities with smart-home sensors, which is used to detect anomalous situations in a robot-assisted environment. The model is based on wavelet transforms and used to forecast smart sensor data, providing a temporal prior to detect unexpected events in human environments. To this end, a new extension of Hybrid Markov Logic Networks has been developed that merges different anomaly indicators, including activities detected by binary sensors, expert logic rules, and wavelet-based temporal models. The latter in particular allows the inference system to discover deviations from long-term activity patterns, which cannot be detected by simpler frequency-based models. Two new publicly available datasets were collected using several smart-sensors to evaluate the approach in office and domestic scenarios. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solutions and their successful deployment in complex human environments, showing their potential for future smart-home and robot integrated services. In the contemporary healthcare landscape, various intelligent automated approaches are revolutionizing healthcare tasks. Learning concepts are pivotal for activities like comprehending acquired data and monitoring patient behavior. Among patient-centric concerns, addressing data heterogeneity, extraction, and prediction challenges is crucial. To enhance patient monitoring using care indicators like cost and length of stay at healthcare centers, many researchers found a model for automated tools, but do not have the artificial intelligence (AI) based models as of now. Therefore, this research study will propose an AI and internet of things (IoT) integrated automated approach with smart sensors called the "PatientE" framework with heterogeneity and patient data. Employing certain rules for data extraction to form a distinct representation, our model integrates pretreatment information and employs a modified combined random forest, long-short term memory (LSTM), and bidirectional long-short term memory (BiLSTM) algorithm for predictive post-treatment monitoring. This framework, synergizing AI, IoT, and advanced neural networks, facilitates real-time health monitoring, especially focusing on breast cancer patients. Embracing pre-treatment, in-treatment, and post-treatment phases, our model aims for accurate diagnosis, improved cost-efficiency, and extended stays. Smart sensors have revolutionized the world with their capability of capturing physical parameters. The sensors provide vital data to the monitoring station in the applications of environment, disaster management, transportation, etc. A framework is built up with an Internet of Things-based approach that detects vehicle accident with the sensors and the information is stored and monitored on the Thingspeak cloud. The alert is raised whenever an accident occurs to the vehicle with the help of an accelerometer, ultrasonic sensor, and GPS. The message of the real-time coordinates is transmitted with the communication module. The monitoring station takes the necessary action by recognizing the accident occurred and providing the emergency services to the hotspot immediately. Global demand and pressure on natural resources is increasing, which is greater on the availability of pure and safe drinking water. The use of new-age technologies including Smart sensors, embedded devices, and Cloud computing can help deliver efficient and safe management for provisioning drinking water for consumers and irrigation for agriculture. The management actions combined with real-time data gathering, monitoring, and alerting with proactive actions, prevent issues from occurring. This research presents a secure and smart research framework to enhance the existing irrigation system. This involves a low-budget irrigation model that can provide automated control and requirements as per the season, climate by using smart device sensors and Cloud communications. The authors presented four unique algorithms and water management processing rules. This also includes alerting scenarios for device and component failures and water leakage by automatically switching to alternative mode and sending alert messages about the faults to resolve the operational failures. The technology landscape has been dynamically reshaped by the rapid growth of the Internet of Things, introducing an era where everyday objects, equipped with smart sensors and connectivity, seamlessly interact to create intelligent ecosystems. IoT devices are highly heterogeneous in terms of software and hardware, and many of them are severely constrained. This heterogeneity and potentially constrained nature creates new challenges in terms of security, privacy, and data management. This work proposes a Monitoring-as-a-Service platform for both monitoring and management purposes, offering a comprehensive solution for collecting, storing, and processing monitoring data from heterogeneous IoT networks for the support of diverse IoT-based applications. To ensure a flexible and scalable solution, we leverage the FIWARE open-source framework, also incorporating blockchain and smart contract technologies to establish a robust integrity verification mechanism for aggregated monitoring and management data. Additionally, we apply automated workflows to filter and label the collected data systematically. Smart buildings use advanced technologies to automate building functions. One important function is occupancy detection using Internet of Things (IoT) sensors for smart buildings. Occupancy information is useful information to reduce energy consumption by automating building functions such as lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The information is useful to improve indoor air quality by ensuring that ventilation systems are used only when and where they are needed. Additionally, it is useful to enhance building security by detecting unusual or unexpected occupancy levels and triggering appropriate responses, such as alarms or alerts. Occupancy information is useful for many other applications, such as emergency response, plug load energy management, point-of-interest identification, etc. However, the accuracy of occupancy detection is limited by factors such as real-time occupancy data, sensor placement, privacy concerns, and the presence of pets or objects that can interfere with sensor reading. With the rapid development of IoT sensor technologies and the increasing need for smart building solutions, there is a growing interest in occupancy detection techniques. There is a need to provide a comprehensive survey of these technologies. Although there are some exciting survey papers, they all have limited scopes with different focuses. Therefore, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-the-art occupancy detection methods (including both traditional algorithms and machine learning algorithms) and devices with their advantages and limitations. It surveys and compares fundamental technologies (such as sensors, algorithms, etc.) for smart buildings. Furthermore, the survey provides insights and discussions, which can help researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders develop more effective occupancy detection solutions for smart buildings. Sensor data that is often collected in the Internet of Things (IoT) or any smart city environment should be protected against security and privacy concerns. Often, sensor data that is shared by devices in smart cities contains sensitive or private information that can often be shared over different networks and by different smart applications. In the last decade, the area of Privacy-Preserving Data Mining (PPDM) has received a lot of attention as the amount of data received and collected daily is huge. Unfortunately, PPDM mostly applies to binary data. To improve the usefulness of PPDM, we present a more usable version for smart cities called Privacy-Preserving Utility Mining (PPUM), in the form of a Maximal Sensitive Utility-Maximal Sensitive ConflIct (MSU-MSI) algorithm. MSU-MSI finds any conflicting items that may contain sensitive itemsets with high-utility and sanitizes them, stripping them of sensitive and private information while maintaining utility. Any transactions encountered that contain sensitive itemsets are first fed through sanitization processes. This is followed by calculating the total number of items that conflict, and then removing them so sanitization processes can operate more efficiently so as to not redo known sanitization processes. We conduct an in-depth experimental analysis, where our detailed methodology is compared directly with state-of-the-art frameworks such as MSU-MIU, MSU-MAU, HHUIF and MSCIF. Our proposed MSU-MSI shows a higher performance in missing cost, in particular when dealing with highly dense or highly sparse datasets. This study introduces an innovative numerical approach for polylinear approximation (polylinearization) of non-self-intersecting compact sensor characteristics (transfer functions) specified either pointwise or analytically. The goal is to partition the sensor characteristic optimally, i.e., to select the vertices of the approximating polyline (approximant) along with their positions, on the sensor characteristics so that the distance (i.e., the separation) between the approximant and the characteristic is rendered below a certain problem-specific tolerance. To achieve this goal, two alternative nonlinear optimization problems are solved, which differ in the adopted quantitative measure of the separation between the transfer function and the approximant. In the first problem, which relates to absolutely integrable sensor characteristics (their energy is not necessarily finite, but they can be represented in terms of convergent Fourier series), the polylinearization is constructed by the numerical minimization of the L 1 -metric (a distance-based separation measure), concerning the number of polyline vertices and their locations. In the second problem, which covers the quadratically integrable sensor characteristics (whose energy is finite, but they do not necessarily admit a representation in terms of convergent Fourier series), the polylinearization is constructed by numerically minimizing the L 2 -metric (area- or energy-based separation measure) for the same set of optimization variables—the locations and the number of polyline vertices. One of the key elements of the internet of things (IoT) nowadays are wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Any IoT application uses a variety of sensor-based devices to collect data from real-world objects and send it to the base station (BS). In accordance with the sensor position, the BS evaluates this data. Any IoT-based application needs a high-performance intelligent WSN. IoT-enabled WSNs are high-performance intelligent WSNs, which are used throughout this article. Fault incidence likelihood in IoT-enabled WSNs is substantially higher than in conventional networks. The dependability of the IoT-enabled WSNs is affected by faulty nodes and broken connections. Incorporating multipath transmission, relay node location, and backup node selection, various faulttolerance techniques improve the network's dependability. These methods, however, have significant packet overhead, worse detection accuracy, and lengthy data transmission delays. For fault tolerance in IoT-enabled WSNs, a multi-objective red panda optimization method incorporating deep reinforcement learning (DRL) is suggested in this paper. This study's primary goal is to identify defective nodes using starting energy, transmission of packets rate, communication overhead, and packet delay measurements. In order to capture data in an energy-efficient manner and extend the network lifespan, a mobile sink (MS) is deployed. The air ventilation of enclosed premises has a direct impact on the occupants’ well-being. If not properly regulated, the air ventilation can originate a multitude of diseases and pathologies. The present study proposes a new KPI (ventilation KPI) adapted to Smart Cities. It is especially designed for academic environments (Smart Universities) in which community members spend a long time gathered in classrooms, seminars, laboratories, etc. The ventilation KPI (or KPIv) was designed to support decision making and is based on the estimation of the number of occupants of an enclosed space and the accumulation of existing CO2. Two AI techniques are proposed to perform these estimations, specifically, two regressive neural networks. The resulting models, together with the KPI, were implemented through the development of value-added services for the University of Alicante’s Smart University platform. The network models were designed to be embedded within the built IoT device prototypes. These prototypes are small and inexpensive. They act as intelligent sensors and are connected via a low consumption and emission network (LoRa). Traditional product design learning is inefficient, costly, and limited by safety concerns in physical and smaller-scale school workshops. The Secure Collapsible Makerspace is a mobile makerspace with smart sensors and an expandable work area facility. This study aims to develop a smart mobile makerspace platform using edge computing architecture and the biometric security model to compare real-time learners' engagement time and design performance. The developed platform consists of four blocks that provide service as a makerspace for the learners and monitor their utilization in a secure environment. The edge computing architecture allows real-time analysis of the users' makerspace utilization. A total of 750 learners were accessed for their product design outcome which presented a positive correlation of 0.72 between the engagement time and the design assessment with a corresponding p-value less than 0.001. The global poultry industry has encountered growing concerns related to foodborne illnesses, misuse of antibiotics, and environmental impacts. To tackle these issues, this study aims to develop an intelligent poultry farm with real-time environmental monitoring and predictive models. The primary objective is to combine a machine learning-based prediction model with internet of things (IoT) devices to gather and analyze environmental data, such as temperature, humidity, and ammonia levels, to forecast the conditions within poultry houses. These sensor data and additional information, such as feed consumption, water consumption, poultry weight, capacity, and poultry house dimensions will serve as inputs for supervised machine learning models. Among these models, the proposed random forest (RF) model, when augmented with timestamp features, achieves the highest accuracy rate of 96.665%, surpassing other models such as logistic regression (LR), k-nearest neighbor (KNN), decision tree (DT), adaptive boosting (AdaBoost), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), support vector machine (SVM), and multi-layer perceptron (MLP) in identifying poultry house conditions. Additionally, this study demonstrates how the trained model can be effectively applied in a web-based monitoring system, delivering real-time data to farmers for well-informed decision-making and ultimately enhancing productivity in smart poultry farming. The use of Internet of Things (IoT) that integrate smart bio sensor devices to the internet and shows individual health in real time. Healthcare organizations gain measurable insights into their most demanding problems like chronic diseases which demands long term monitoring. Various types of nano-sensors like Ingestible embedded in pills, Blood sampling sensor and tissue sensors are used in Healthcare IoT. Such implantable device collects, process and sends the vital signs called biosignals from particular organ of the human body where it has been implanted or fixed throughout the day to remote clinician. Such prolonged monitoring may weaken the battery power of nano-sensors. Since nano-sensors are miniaturized in nature and completely relies on its battery, energy awareness is incorporated in this paradigm that can help to avoid unnecessary energy consumption. This is achieved by data compression scheme. As the nano-sensors are light weight devices the designed algorithm should be low complex as well as efficient. As well, the signal acquired through this wireless sensor device are prone to be contaminated with noises because of the wearer's movements. In this study, regularized denoising autoencoder (DAE) has been employed to compress and recover the signal from its noisy version. Lasso (Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator) and Ridge regularization concepts are used and contrasted in this article. The cost function now includes these penalty clauses to address the overfitting problem. The experimental findings demonstrate that LASSO Norm has outperformed over RIDGE in 18% for ECG, 57% for EMG & 31% for EEG signal with respect to Quality Score. Abstract Payload delivery is one of the many Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) applications that save time, energy, and human resources. The present simulation study compares rotary‐wing quadrotors (RW‐Quadrotors) and tail‐sitter biplane quadrotors (Bi‐Quadrotors) under payload delivery conditions that help to choose the best UAV for the particular mission. A comparative study is performed based on (i) time taken to accomplish the given mission, (ii) trajectory tracking performance, (iii) motor speed throughout the entire flight envelope, and (iv) remains SoC (State of Charge) after the mission. Furthermore, a Backstepping Controller (BSC) and an Adaptive Backstepping Controller (ABSC) are developed for both UAVs to handle mass changes during flight while Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used for the gain optimization. MATLAB Simulink‐based numerical simulation reveals that the Bi‐Quadrotor has a lower average rotor speed than the RW‐Quadrotor. However, the Bi‐Quadrotor's SoC after the mission is higher than the RW‐Quadrotor, and it took less time to accomplish the mission. The ABSC designed for RW‐Quadrotor and Bi‐Quadrotor effectively handles mass change during the mission. However, the BSC controller increases energy consumption for the Bi‐Quadrotor in the presence of wind gusts.

The integration of 3D printed sensors into hosting structures has become a growing area of research due to simplified assembly procedures, reduced system complexity, and lower fabrication cost. Embedding 3D printed sensors into structures or bonding the sensors on surfaces are the two techniques for the integration of sensors. This review extensively discusses the fabrication of sensors through different additive manufacturing techniques. Various additive manufacturing techniques dedicated to manufacture sensors as well as their integration techniques during the manufacturing process will be discussed. This review will also discuss the basic sensing mechanisms of integrated sensors and their applications. It has been proven that integrating 3D printed sensors into infrastructures can open new possibilities for research and development in additive manufacturing and sensor materials for smart goods and the Internet of Things. In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), sensor nodes were considered to be an integral part of IoT (Internet of Things) for sensing and monitoring the environment. The IoT-based applications need to be optimized regarding the changing requirements of users as everything is connected via the internet. In today's era, where every day new technologies were rebuilt where sensor nodes plays an important role on it. In every field, whether it is healthcare, smart agriculture, smart home appliances, smart traffic, or smart city sensors were deployed for sensing their environment, collecting data from them, and forwarding it to the servers. These sensor nodes were made up of non-rechargeable power batteries, as a fact efficient energy consumption of these batteries becomes vital. In WSN, efficient energy consumption is still an issue, and its solutions were given by many researchers among them, clustering is considered to be more effective in this domain. For efficient energy consumption, multi-attributes of cluster head selection need to be considered and proper coordination among the conflicting nature of multi-attributes needs to be done. In this paper, we have proposed PROMETHEE II and modified AHP together for cluster heads selection by considering multi-attributes. Twenty-one attributes were considered including connectivity, distance to the base station, residual energy, member nodes, and many more. Being conflicting in nature, proper coordination among these attributes has been done and optimal cluster heads were selected modified for data transmissions. In this paper, modified AHP has been compared with our proposed modified PROMETHEE II and AHP for understanding the significance of this integration. Results is evaluated in terms of energy consumption, network lifetime, and load balancing and it also validate that our proposed approach outperforms with modified AHP and other existing algorithms. Increasingly, buildings are being fitted with sensors for the needs of different sectors, such as education, industry and business. Using Internet of Things devices combined with analysis of data being generated by these devices, it is possible to infer a number of metrics, e.g., building occupancy and activities of occupants. This survey explores the use of sensors in smart building environments, identifying different approaches to employ sensors in buildings. With its wide spectrum of applications, IoT is revolutionizing both the current and future generations of the Internet. IoT systems can be employed for broad‐ranging real applications, such as agriculture, the environment, cities, healthcare, and the industrial sector. In this paper, we briefly discuss the three‐tier architectural view of IoT, its different communication technologies, and the smart sensors. Moreover, we study various application areas of IoT such as the environmental domain, healthcare, agriculture, smart cities, and industrial, commercial, and general aspects. A critical analysis is shown for the existing schemes and techniques related to this work. Further, this paper addresses the basic context, tools and evaluation approaches, future scope, and the advantages and disadvantages of the aforestated IoT applications. A comprehensive analysis is provided for each domain along with its fundamental parameters like the quality of service (QoS), network longevity, scalability, energy efficiency, accuracy, and cost. For a ubiquitous sensing in Internet of Things (IoT), a large number of low-cost devices with ultra-low power massive communications are required. Heavy cloud computing pressure and low-intelligent traditional front-end hardware are major challenges for extending sensing in IoT applications. While state-of-the-art is focusing on the cloud-edge platform solutions and the optimization of the performed and transmitted data, this paper proposes an intelligent equipment hardware for smart IoT devices. A radiofrequency (RF) neuromorphic spiking sensor is implemented in BiCMOS 55 nm technology, comprising a wake-up receiver with a spiking pre-processing neural system (artificial synapses and neurons). The proposed system can identify bit patterns of two signals modulated using On–Off Keying at a frequency of 2.4 GHz received from two IoT receivers. Moreover, the system can recognize the orientation of the mobile IoT transmitter. This can be achieved based on the output spiking frequency of the neuron responsiveness over the difference between the input powers. Post-layout simulations demonstrate that the orientation of the source can be detected for various distances between the source and the two receivers. Significant performances are obtained with 1.1 nW of total power consumption and 0.7 fJ/conv of energy efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The growing cognizance of spectrum scarcity has become a more significant concern in wireless radio communications. Due to the exponential growth of data transmission in intelligent wireless sensor networks, energy spectrum detection has become a promising solution for resolving spectrum shortages. Primary user emulation attack (PUEA) has been identified as a significant attack vector in the cognitive radio (CR) domain's physical layer. In comparison, the CR is a promising method to increase spectrum efficiency by allowing unlicensed secondary users (SUs) to access licensed frequency bands without interfering with approved primary users (PUs). The study's primary findings are the methodology for preventing PUEA using authentication tags, which are unique sequences. This research blends SC‐FDMA with CR to protect CR networks from PUEA attacks, a Latin square (LS) matrix tag generation system is proposed to mitigate the PUEA effect. The technology is meant to provide effective authentication and protection against malicious users. In a secured environment, the LS tag technique is utilized to track and estimate the PU. For example, the BER of both techniques is virtually identical between 0 and 4 dB, while the BER performance of the suggested LS tag generation improves with increasing signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR). As a result, the suggested LS tag generation is less susceptible to PUEA. To diminish the influence of PUEA in CR networks, an efficient enlightening approach for making the future Green Cognitive Radio Wireless networks structure is proposed. The simulation results also demonstrate the resilience of the proposed CR spectrum sensing techniques for energy‐efficient knowledge at varying degrees to reduce the adverse effects of environmental technologies. In today's world, merging sensor-based security systems with contemporary principles has become crucial. As we witness the ever-growing number of interconnected devices in the Internet of Things (IoT), it is imperative to have robust and trustworthy security measures in place. In this paper, we examine the idea of virtualizing the communication infrastructure for smart farming in the context of IoT. Our approach utilizes a metaverse-based framework that mimics natural processes such as mycelium network growth communication with a security-concept-based srtificial immune system (AIS) and transaction models of a multi-agent system (MAS). The mycelium, a bridge that transfers nutrients from one plant to another, is an underground network (IoT below ground) that can interconnect multiple plants. Our objective is to study and simulate the mycelium's behavior, which serves as an underground IoT, and we anticipate that the simulation results, supported by diverse aspects, can be a reference for future IoT network development. This paper compares predictive algorithms for smart agriculture sensor data in Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The main objective of IoT in agriculture is to improve productivity and reduce production costs using advanced technology and artificial intelligence. In this study, we compared various predictive algorithms for analyzing IoT smart agriculture sensor data. Specifically, we evaluated the performance of NeuralProphet, Random Forest Regression, SARIMA, and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) by KERAS algorithms on a dataset containing temperature, humidity, and soil moisture data. The dataset was collected using IoT sensors in a smart agriculture system. The results showed that Random Forest Regression, Seasonal ARIMA, and Artificial Neural Networks by KERAS algorithms outperformed NeuralProphet algorithm in terms of accuracy and computational efficiency. The science of achieving a healthy mind, body, and spirit through objectives and activities is known as personal health (PH). We must be aware of our mental, bodily, and social well-being. The term "hygiene" refers to a wide variety of healthy behaviours. Individuals' healthcare costs and quality of life increased by avoiding or reducing the long-term effects of the disease through knowledge and skills. Biomedical apparel includes sutures, vascular grafts, and biodegradable clothes (BC). Biomedical clothing is anything implanted or incorporated into the human body and used near tissue, blood, or cells. Quick, dependable, and energyefficient connectivity between wireless sensor networks is necessary (WSNs). Physical layers, media access control, networking layers, and control requirements must be co-designed. For those with lesser means, health insurance will increase in cost. There are difficulties with privacy and cyber security, a higher chance of malpractice claims, and increased time and financial expenditures for doctors and patients. In this study, wireless sensor networks-based personal health biomedical clothing (PH-BC-WSN) was utilized to increase access to high-quality healthcare, increase food production through precision agriculture, and raise the standard of human resources. More effective healthcare and medical asset monitoring systems can be developed thanks to the Internet of Things. Eavesdropping on medical data, modification, fabrication of warnings, denial of service, user tracking and location, physical interference with equipment, and electromagnetic threats were extensively discussed. The article gives several instances of current technology, discusses design challenges including energy efficiency, security, and scalability, provides various demonstrations of current technology, and provides a complete analysis of all the advantages and disadvantages. In an increasingly technology-driven world, the security of Internet-of-Things systems has become a top priority. This article presents a study on the implementation of security solutions in an innovative manufacturing plant using IoT and machine learning. The research was based on collecting historical data from telemetry sensors, IoT cameras, and control devices in a smart manufacturing plant. The data provided the basis for training machine learning models, which were used for real-time anomaly detection. After training the machine learning models, we achieved a 13% improvement in the anomaly detection rate and a 3% decrease in the false positive rate. These results significantly impacted plant efficiency and safety, with faster and more effective responses seen to unusual events. The results showed that there was a significant impact on the efficiency and safety of the smart manufacturing plant. Improved anomaly detection enabled faster and more effective responses to unusual events, decreasing critical incidents and improving overall security. Additionally, algorithm optimization and IoT infrastructure improved operational efficiency by reducing unscheduled downtime and increasing resource utilization. This study highlights the effectiveness of machine learning-based security solutions by comparing the results with those of previous research on IoT security and anomaly detection in industrial environments. The traditional power IoT cloud-side interaction security access MQTT protocol still has a lot of room for adaptation and optimization. First, the proposed non-interactive zero-knowledge proof identity authentication method reduces the time of traditional standard secure access authentication process; Second, it reduced the computing resources consumed in a large number of intelligent sensors access authentication. The comparison results show that, the access authentication time of this method is 30% ∼ 50% less than that of the traditional secure access authentication process.
