The updated Osteoarthritis of the Knee Clinical Care Standard aims to provide evidence-based care for individuals with knee osteoarthritis. The standard emphasizes non-surgical management and recommends against unnecessary imaging, opioid prescribing, and unwarranted knee replacement. It also focuses on comprehensive assessment, appropriate use of imaging, education and self-management, physical activity and exercise, weight management and nutrition, medicines for pain and mobility, patient review, and surgery. The standard includes cultural safety and equity considerations and provides resources for consumers, clinicians, and health services.
