The objective of this article is to know the relationship between tax collection and tax progressivity in Mexico. To this aim the progressivity level of Income Tax (IT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) is calculated, using the Kakwani index. These calculations show that IT is a progressive tax, while VAT is a regressive tax. Subsequently, by means of an econometric model, a positive relationship between tax collection and the level of tax progressivity is verified, which means that greater the progressivity, greater the tax collection and viceversa. At present, it is observed that individuals significantly increase the value of their assets, in many cases, such increases have no justification, so they omit the payment of their taxes, generating a low tax collection in the country. The objective of this research work was to analyze the criteria that allow the detection of the unjustified increase in wealth of Peruvian individuals. The methodology applied was qualitative, phenomenological design, with a non-probabilistic sampling based on the professional experiences of three experts in tax matters. The result was that the tax administration applies certain criteria, classified under the following headings: financial system, social, informality, auditing and digitalization. The most important criteria during the COVID 19 pandemic were e-commerce and social networks, used to generate income and evade taxes. It is concluded that natural persons incur in unjustified asset growth, due to lack of knowledge, because they do not wish to formalize or because they do not have a technical accounting team to guide them in the aforementioned criteria. It is suggested that the tax administration should supervise the new criteria related to digitalization in order to reduce unjustified capital gains in Peru. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper investigates the effects of institutional quality on tax revenue collection in sub‐Saharan African countries. We include the six institutional quality indicators (i.e., voice and accountability, political stability, regulatory quality, rule of law, control of corruption, and government effectiveness) as explanatory factors for tax revenues and its components in a sample of 42 countries over the period 1996–2019. A system GMM approach was used for the estimations. Consistent with previous results, we find that institutional quality has positive and significant effects on tax revenue collection in sub‐Saharan Africa. Specifically, aggregate total tax revenues, direct taxes, income taxes, and goods and services taxes are positively affected by the six institutional quality indicators. Indirect taxes are positively associated with four indicators, with the exception of government effectiveness and political stability, while tax on international trade are affected by institutional quality factors, with the exception of control of corruption and voice and accountability. This study aims to measure the impact of tax audits and tax collection on the income tax revenue under Article 25 for corporate taxpayers at KPP Pratama Prabumulih for the period 2019-2023. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis with the aid of SPSS 19. The results of this study indicate that tax audits do not have a significant effect on income tax revenue under Article 25 for corporate taxpayers, while tax collection has a positive and significant effect on income tax revenue under Article 25 for corporate taxpayers. This study aims to examine the impact of income tax and VAT progressivity on Mexico's tax collection. In Mexico, tax collection has persistently remained at notably low levels, attributed in part to the perceived inequity within the tax system. Initially, we compute the progressivity of income tax and VAT to ascertain the average percentage increase in these taxes relative to a 100% rise in income. Results indicate income tax's progressive nature, contrasting with VAT's regressive pattern. Subsequently, employing a time-series model, we analyze the influence of income tax and VAT progressivity on tax collection. Our findings reveal a positive correlation between fiscal progressiveness and tax collection levels over both short and long terms. These findings offer practical implications, suggesting that leveraging the insights from this research could fortify tax policies, thereby enhancing tax revenues and contributing to improved income distribution. The analysis underscores the importance of considering the level of progressivity in income tax and VAT rates for enhancing tax collection in Mexico. By leveraging progressive taxation policies, policymakers can potentially boost tax revenues while promoting a more equitable distribution of income. Taxes are a crucial instrument in determining a country's revenue. However, challenges remain, especially in the face of societal resistance to tax collection. To achieve people's welfare, tax regulations are needed, namely tax laws, which require public awareness. Therefore, this paper will discuss the effect of tax law on the welfare of the Indonesian people. This paper uses the type of data that produces descriptive evidence, collects information about the relationship between variables, and deepens the data used in the study in this paper. This study uses secondary documents in the form of writing and figures from articles and news with trusted sites as the object of discussion in this report. The results show that taxes play a central role in Indonesia's economy, and the main source of state revenue is the income sector. Tax amnesty can be a solution to increase tax revenue by capturing new taxes and increasing public awareness about the importance of adherence to tax laws. Increased public awareness is needed so that facilities, education, services, and security can be improved to achieve better public welfare. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Income tax law and policy are fundamentally intertwined with private markets--causal effects run in both directions. The vitality of public markets can be stifled or invigorated by the way that they are taxed. The power to tax is the power to destroy. In turn, the computation and collection of income taxes depends upon the valuation and liquidity provided by markets. Moreover, the economic properties of tax rules are contingent upon the underlying market structures. Changes to these structures induced by technological innovation can alter the efficiency and equity properties of the prevailing income tax rules. In this Article, I explain how innovations associated with the digital transformation of business will--as an unintended consequence--reduce the administrative barriers to taxing income and improve the economic tradeoffs, thereby making it both feasible and desirable to push outward the frontier of the income tax's domain.
