The article analyzes the book "Algeria. Politics and society from the dark decade to the Hirak" by Michael J. Willis, which examines the Algerian state from within and from outside, highlighting the concept of "revolutionary legacy" in Algerian politics. The author challenges accepted premises in the academic world and shows the complexity of Algerian society and its forms of resistance. Additionally, it is mentioned that the jihadist phenomenon in Mali has become more complex due to the presence of different actors, and its main objective is to control a prosperous territory due to the trafficking of weapons, drugs, and human beings.
