This research focused primarily on the effect of job characteristics on job satisfaction and organizational commitment in the hotel industry. Data were collected from 252 hotel workers in Turkey. Two multiple regression analyses were conducted to identify the impact of job characteristics on employees’ overall job satisfaction and affective commitment. In addition, a simple regression analysis was used to identify the relationship between overall job satisfaction and affective commitment. The results indicated that the job characteristics, interaction, feedback, and autonomy had significant impacts on both job satisfaction and affective commitment. The findings further indicated that a significant relationship exists between job satisfaction and affective commitment. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
