Abstract

Research indicates increased creatine (Cr) levels and a larger phosphocreatine/adenosine triphosphate ratio in skeletal muscles when creatine supplementation is given. Results are based on a study of 10 males using non-invasive magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Abstract

A study was conducted on nine males to analyze the effect of short-term creatine supplements on muscle performance and resynthesis. Concentration of muscle creatine and phosphocreatine increase and performance improved, but creatine loading did not improve the resynthesis process. Dynamic knee extension torque was measured during the study.
