Abstract

The article presents a study on detecting the urinary N-acetyl-glucosaminidase (NAG) activity as the only biochemical indicator reacting at an early stage of lead nephrosis. The study examined and measured microglobulin concentrations in 99 male lead solder factory and lead refinery workers. The study shows the substantial indications that lead exposure to workers causes a functional alteration in their renal tubules.
