Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) offer a new treatment approach for cancer, with an improvement in patient survival. However, it remains unclear whether their use impacts the quality of life of treated patients. This study aims to compare the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of patients treated with different anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1 drugs, including several single or combination therapies. Methods: This is a prospective observational study conducted with adult cancer patients who received at least one dose of anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1. The HRQoL of all adult patients was assessed using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30 module (QLQ-C30), version 3, Arabic version. Results: A total of 199 patients were found to be eligible for this study. Of these, 93 patients (82 on a single medication and 11 on multiple ICIs) completed the questionnaire, with a response rate of 46.7%. The majority of patients were treated with pembrolizumab (39.8%), followed by a smaller number treated with nivolumab (35.5%). Most of the patients were diagnosed with solid and advanced malignancies—88.2% (p = 0.023) and 87.1% (p = 0.021), respectively—with a significant difference between treatment groups. The median functioning score was 84.7%, with no significant difference between treatment groups (p = 0.752). Fatigue and pain were noted in >50% of patients, influencing the overall cohort's score related to these symptoms, with scores of 88.8% and 83.3%, respectively. Although a non-significant variation was found in the scores of all combined symptoms among all groups, ranging from 82.1% to 90.4% (p = 0.931), patients receiving anti-PD-1 + anti-PD-L1 tended to more frequently complain about fatigue, pain, dyspnea, and constipation and hence, exhibited the worst, yet non-significant, scores compared to those of the other groups, with p = 0.234, p = 0.79, p = 0.704, and p = 0.86, respectively. All combined groups scored 83.3% on the global health scale. Nevertheless, the nivolumab-treated patients scored 75%, which was the worst global health score compared with those of the other groups, but this score was not statistically significant (p = 0.809). Conclusions: Our findings revealed no significant difference in the impact of different ICIs on the HRQoL of cancer patients. Background: General population normative values for the widely used health-related quality of life (HRQoL) measure EORTC QLQ-C30 support the interpretation of trial results and HRQoL of patients in clinical practice. Here, we provide sex-, age- and health condition-specific normative values for the EORTC QLQ-C30 in the French general population. Methods: French general population data was collected in an international EORTC project. Online panels with quota samples were used to recruit sex and age groups. Number and type of comorbidities were assessed. Descriptive statistics were used to calculate general population values for each QLQ-C30 scale, separately for sex, age, and presence of one- and more chronic health conditions. A multivariate linear regression model has been developed to allow estimating the effect of sex, age, and the presence for one- and more chronic health conditions on EORTC QLQ-C30 scores. Data was weighted according to United Nation statistics adjusting for the proportion of sex and age groups. Results: In total, 1001 French respondents were included in our analyses. The weighted mean age was 47.9 years, 514 (51.3%) participants were women, and 497 (52.2%) participants reported at least one health condition. Men reported statistically significant better scores for Emotional Functioning (+9.6 points, p = 0.006) and Fatigue (−7.8 point; p = 0.04); women reported better profiles for Role Functioning (+8.7 points; p = 0.008) and Financial Difficulty (−7.8 points, p = 0.011). According to the regression model, the sex effect was statistically significant in eight scales; the effect of increasing age had a statistically significant effect on seven of the 15 EORTC QLQ-C30 scales. The sex- and age effect varied in its direction across the various scales. The presence of health conditions showed a strong negative effect on all scales. Conclusion: This is the first publication of detailed French normative values for the EORTC QLQ-C30. It aims to support the interpretation of HRQoL profiles in French cancer populations. Various reviews and meta‐analyses have shown the positive effects of mindfulness‐based interventions (MBIs) on the mental health of cancer patients and survivors. Some studies have also investigated the impact of MBIs on physiological markers of health in oncology, but a systematic review has not been conducted in this field. The current paper aims to fill this gap in the literature. Following preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta‐analyses 2020 guidelines, data were obtained from the databases of Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science in May 2022. Twenty‐five studies were included. Globally, 35 biomarkers were employed in these studies and were categorized 8 groups (cortisol; blood pressure (BP), heart rate, and respiratory rate; C‐reactive protein; telomere length and telomerase activity (TA); genetic signature; cytokines and hormones; leucocyte activation; leucocyte count and cell subpopulation analysis). In seven of these categories of biomarkers, positive effects of MBIs were observed. The most promising results were obtained for cortisol, BP, TA and pro‐inflammatory gene expression. However, the generally low number of studies per single biomarker limits the possibility to draw reliable conclusions. The present review presents a comprehensive state‐of‐the‐art for MBIs in oncology on biomarkers, confirming MBIs' potential for improving physiological health in cancer patients and survivors besides those already shown in literature on psychological well‐being. Purpose:Although fertility preservation for patients with childhood and adolescent cancer is considered standard of care in the high-resource settings, it is rarely offered in low-resource settings. This study explores the experiences and perspectives of oncology health care professionals in Uganda to identify contextual barriers and facilitators to addressing oncofertility in low-resource settings. Methods: Using ground theory, we conducted in-depth face-to-face interviews of health care professionals managing pediatric patients at the Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI). Using a systematic, semi-structured interview guide, participants were asked open-ended questions about their understanding of fertility preservation and their perspectives on implementing this care at their institution. Although all the eligible health care providers were interviewed, interview transcripts were uploaded into NVivo version 12 and openly coded as per theoretical requirements. Codes were refined into categories and later into structured themes. Results: Twelve health care professionals were interviewed. Most participants identified as female (n = 9). Their role in the medical team varied from nurses (n = 6), medical officers (n = 3), pediatric oncologists (n = 2), and pediatric oncology fellow (n = 1). Six themes were noted as follows: (1) importance of information, (2) importance of future fertility, (3) inadequate consideration to future fertility, (4) communication barriers, (5) inadequate knowledge, and (6) resource barriers. Conclusion: Although health care providers at the UCI face contextual barriers to addressing future fertility among patients with pediatric cancer, they value preserving fertility in this population. Future initiatives that aim to introduce oncofertility care in low-resource settings should prioritize educating providers and building capacity to meet the oncofertility needs in this setting. Background: Young people receiving cancer treatment in the South Thames Children's, Teenagers' and Young Adults' Cancer Operational Delivery Network usually receive care across two or more NHS trusts, meaning transition into adult services can be challenging. Aim: To develop a planned, co-ordinated approach to transition across the network that meets National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance recommendations for transition and the cancer service specifications. Methods: A 2-year, nurse-led quality improvement (QI) project, using the principles of experience-based co-design. Outcomes: The QI project resulted in the development of six key principles of practice; refining and testing of a benchmarking tool; initiatives to facilitate first transition conversations; and the launch of an information hub. Conclusion: Robust QI processes, cross-network collaboration and wide stakeholder involvement required significant resource, but enabled deeper understanding of existing pathways and processes, facilitated the establishment of meaningful objectives, and enabled the testing of interventions to ensure the project outcomes met the needs of all stakeholders. Simple Summary: Cancer patients, especially long-distance patients, often struggle to receive timely and precise medical information and support for their symptom management and survivorship care. ChatGPT-4's responses to queries concerning head and neck (HN) cancer remain questionable. The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a retrained large language model (LLM) for HN cancer patients. In this cross-sectional study, the presented LLM was retrained with a high-quality user-defined knowledge base. The responses from the LLM to patients' questions were validated against human responses, and the model showed a superior performance, with average scores of 4.25 for accuracy, 4.35 for clarity, 4.22 for completeness, and 4.32 for relevance, on a 5-point scale. The confined-trained LLM with a high-quality user-defined knowledge base demonstrates high accuracy, clarity, completeness, and relevance in offering evidence-based information and guidance on the symptom management and survivorship care for head and neck cancer patients. Purpose: This study aimed to develop a retrained large language model (LLM) tailored to the needs of HN cancer patients treated with radiotherapy, with emphasis on symptom management and survivorship care. Methods: A comprehensive external database was curated for training ChatGPT-4, integrating expert-identified consensus guidelines on supportive care for HN patients and correspondences from physicians and nurses within our institution's electronic medical records for 90 HN patients. The performance of our model was evaluated using 20 patient post-treatment inquiries that were then assessed by three Board certified radiation oncologists (RadOncs). The rating of the model was assessed on a scale of 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree) based on accuracy, clarity of response, completeness s, and relevance. Results: The average scores for the 20 tested questions were 4.25 for accuracy, 4.35 for clarity, 4.22 for completeness, and 4.32 for relevance, on a 5-point scale. Overall, 91.67% (220 out of 240) of assessments received scores of 3 or higher, and 83.33% (200 out of 240) received scores of 4 or higher. Conclusion: The custom-trained model demonstrates high accuracy in providing support to HN patients offering evidence-based information and guidance on their symptom management and survivorship care. This study aimed to test the psychometric properties of the Portuguese Supportive Care Needs Survey-Short Form-34 (SCNS-SF34-Pt) and its breast cancer-specific complementary module (SCNS-BR8-Pt). A further aim was to characterize Portuguese Breast Cancer Survivors' (BCS) unmet supportive care needs, using these measures. A convenient sample of BCS was recruited from five hospitals in Portugal and invited to complete SCNS-SF34-Pt and SCNS-BR8-Pt, EORTCQLQC30 and QLQBR23, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and the Patient Health-Questionnaire. The validity (i.e. convergent, discriminant and convergent validity) and reliability of SCNS-SF34-Pt and SCNS-BR8-Pt were statistically evaluated. BCS' unmet supportive care needs were descriptively assessed. 336 BCS participated in the study. A four-factor solution was produced for SCNS-SF34-Pt. This solution included the Physical and daily living needs, Psychological needs, Sexuality needs, and Health system, information, and patient support needs dimensions (73% of the total variance; Cronbach's alpha=.82 to.97). SCNS-SF34-Pt demonstrated good convergent validity. It could also discriminate between known-groups regarding age, disease staging, treatment performed, and ECOG performance status. SCNS-BR8-Pt revealed a single-factor structure (62% of the total variance; Cronbach's alpha=.91). Portuguese BCS' most prevalent unmet supportive care needs were associated with the Psychological, and Physical and daily living domains. Fear of cancer spreading, the inability to do things as usual, and lack of energy/tiredness were perceived as issues requiring further supportive care. SCNS-SF34-Pt and the SCNS-BR8-Pt are valid and reliable tools to assess Portuguese BCS' unmet supportive care needs. Background The indirect impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic on healthcare services was studied by assessing changes in the trend of the time to first treatment for women 18 or older who were diagnosed and treated for breast cancer between 2017 and 2021. Methods An observational retrospective longitudinal study based on aggregated data from four European Union (EU) countries/regions investigating the time it took to receive breast cancer treatment. We compiled outputs from a federated analysis to detect structural breakpoints, confirming the empirical breakpoints by differences between the trends observed and forecasted after March 2020. Finally, we built several segmented regressions to explore the association of contextual factors with the observed changes in treatment delays. Results We observed empirical structural breakpoints on the monthly median time to surgery trend in Aragon (ranging from 9.20 to 17.38 days), Marche (from 37.17 to 42.04 days) and Wales (from 28.67 to 35.08 days). On the contrary, no empirical structural breakpoints were observed in Belgium (ranging from 21.25 to 23.95 days) after the pandemic's beginning. Furthermore, we confirmed statistically significant differences between the observed trend and the forecasts for Aragon and Wales. Finally, we found the interaction between the region and the pandemic's start (before/after March 2020) significantly associated with the trend of delayed breast cancer treatment at the population level. Conclusions Although they were not clinically relevant, only Aragon and Wales showed significant differences with expected delays after March 2020. Objective Unsafe opioid-related practices can lead to abuse, diversion, and accidental overdoses. In this study, we aimed to describe the patterns and beliefs regarding the storage, disposal, and use of opioids among Chinese patients with cancer in their home settings, which remain unclear. Methods A multicenter cross-sectional survey was conducted in Hubei Province from October 2022 to June 2023. We collected information on the storage, disposal, and use of opioids among cancer pain inpatients in the oncology department. Logistic regression was used to estimate the factors associated with unsafe disposal and use of opioids. Results The survey included 221 patients with a median age of 62 years. Only 3.2% stored their opioids under lock and key, and 49.8% were unaware of proper disposal methods. Nearly one-fifth (19.5%) reported having received information on the safe storage (14.0%) and/or disposal (10.0%) of opioids. A total of 44.3% reported unsafe use by sharing (1.8%), losing (4.1%), or taking opioids at a higher dose than prescribed (42.5%). Patients who did not receive information on the safe disposal of opioids (OR = 4.57, P  = .0423), had a history of alcohol use (OR = 1.91, P  = .0399), and used opioids other than morphine (OR = 2.31, P  = .0461) had higher odds of unsafe disposal practices. Individuals with an associate degree/bachelor's degree or above were less likely to dispose of (OR = 0.36, P  = .0261) and use (OR = 0.31, P  = .0127) opioids unsafely. Conclusion A significant proportion of Chinese patients with cancer exhibit unsafe practices in the storage, disposal, and use of opioids. Background: Cancer is a disease that transcends what is purely medical, profoundly affecting the day-to-day life of both patients and family members. Previous research has shown that the consequences of cancer are greatly aggravated in patients at the end of life, at a time when they must also grapple with numerous unmet needs. The main objective of this study was to obtain more in-depth insight into these needs, primarily in patients with end-stage cancer nearing death. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted in Spain with cancer patients at the end of life (n = 3) and their family members (n = 12). The findings from the interviews were analyzed using qualitative thematic analysis and a grounded theory approach. Results: Four major themes emerged from the interviews that explored the needs and concerns of patients with cancer at the end of life: (1) physical well-being (2) emotional well-being (3) social well-being and (4), needs relating to information and autonomous decision-making. The interviews also shed light on the specific needs of family members during this period, namely the difficulties of managing increased caregiver burden and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Conclusions: A lack of support, information and transparency during a period of immense vulnerability makes the end-of-life experience even more difficult for patients with cancer. Our findings highlight the importance of developing a more in-depth understanding of the needs of this population, so that informed efforts can be made to improve palliative healthcare and implement more comprehensive care and support at the end of life. Church–academic partnerships focused on cancer, generally target cancer screening and prevention, with few focusing explicitly on cancer survivors. With the population of cancer survivors steadily increasing, highlighting the value of faith-based cancer support ministry is paramount. However, many churches may not have the resources to integrate relevant cancer support ministry and may need to identify ways to reach cancer survivors. We piloted cancer support training to help church members to start a cancer support ministry with African-American churches in Milwaukee, WI. We sought to measure the feasibility of a two-day training workshop to build the capacity of churches through recruiting and training church members on how to foster social support and to disseminate cancer information and resources throughout their churches. Our study was guided by the social networks and social support framework, which we applied to cancer survivorship. Our study supports the feasibility of engaging churches in a virtual training to support the development of cancer support ministries to address the needs of African-American cancer survivors. Based on our recruitment success, workshop attendance, evaluation and retention, our results suggest that a two-day workshop was successful in facilitating the initiation of cancer support ministries within African-American churches. Purpose: Breast cancer is the most common cancer type worldwide, with its survivors often experiencing physical and psychosocial health problems. Wearable device use is an innovative and effective way to promote physical activity and improve health‐related outcomes in breast cancer survivors; however, the current evidence is unclear. We aimed to determine the effects of wearable devices on physical activity and health‐related outcomes in breast cancer survivors. Methods: PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases were searched to identify eligible studies from inception to September 2022. Additional relevant studies were obtained from the reference lists of the identified studies. Two reviewers independently screened the eligible studies, appraised the risk of bias, and extracted the data. Meta‐analysis was conducted using Review Manager version 5.3. Findings: Sixteen randomized controlled trials were included. Physical activity tracking and pedometer‐based interventions improved moderate‐intensity physical activity (standardized mean difference [SMD] = 0.32, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.17–0.46, p < 0.0001), moderate‐to‐vigorous physical activity (SMD = 0.85, 95%CI: 0.38–1.32, p = 0.0004), total physical activity (SMD = 0.51, 95%CI: 0.12–0.90, p = 0.01), quality of life (SMD = 0.17, 95%CI: 0.03–0.31, p = 0.01), physical function (SMD = 0.21, 95%CI: 0.04–0.38, p = 0.02), and mood state profiles (SMD = −0.58, 95%CI: −1.13 to 0.02, p = 0.04) in breast cancer survivors. However, the effects of low‐intensity physical activity, vigorous‐intensity physical activity, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and sleep quality could not be ascertained. Conclusions: Physical activity tracking and pedometer‐based interventions were effective in increasing physical activity and improving health‐related outcomes in breast cancer survivors. Implications for nursing practice: This review offers availability of credible evidence supporting the potential usefulness and effectiveness of wearable physical activity trackers on physical activity and health‐related outcomes in breast cancer survivors. Nurses play a key role in providing integrated supportive care to cancer patients for their various needs. Efforts should be made to identify the competencies required for nurses providing integrated supportive care to cancer survivors, evaluate the competence level with reliable and reasonable tools, and continuously improve them. In Phase 1, the items of the scale were developed through a literature review and by conducting a focus group interview. In Phase 2, the validity and reliability of the scale were analyzed. A total of 504 nurses participated. Data were analyzed using item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson's correlation with other scales, internal consistency, and split-half reliability. The developed scale consisted of 22 items. These items were grouped into five subscales and labeled as professionalism enhancement, care coordination, comprehensive nursing needs assessment, providing tailored information and education, and recurrence surveillance and secondary cancer prevention. Confirmatory factor analysis supported good convergent and discriminant validities. The criterion validity was verified. The internal consistency of the scale measured by Cronbach's α was 0.91. * Context.--Endometrial cancer is classified into 4 molecular subtypes: DNA polymerase epsilon ultramutated, mismatch repair deficient, p53 mutant, and nonspecific molecular profile (NSMP). Additional biomarkers are urgently needed to better characterize the NSMP subtype, the largest group with heterogeneous pathologic features and prognoses. Objective.--To investigate the expression of B7 homolog 3 (B7-H3), B7 homolog 4 (B7-H4), and V-set and immunoglobulin domain containing 3 (VSIG-3, a ligand for B7-H5) in 833 patients with endometrial cancer and determine their associations with clinicopathologic and molecular features as well as survival outcomes. Design.--Molecular classification was determined by polymerase epsilon sequencing and immunohistochemical staining for p53 and mismatch repair proteins. B7-H3, B7H4, VSIG-3, and programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) were detected via immunohistochemistry. Results.--The positivity rates for B7-H3 in each of the tumor and immune cells, B7-H4 (exclusively in tumor cells), and VSIG-3 (exclusively in tumor cells) were 89.0%, 42.3%, 71.5%, and 99.8%, respectively. B7-H3 and B7-H4 positivity in tumor cells was associated with favorable pathologic features and prognosis. In contrast, B7-H3 expression in immune cells was frequent in samples with unfavorable pathologic features; those with p53-mutant subtype, PD-L1 positivity, and a high density of [CD8.sup.+] T cells; and in patients with poor prognoses. Positive B7-H4 expression was a predictor of improved survival in patients with the NSMP subtype independent of tumor stage or pathologic features. Conclusions.--The NSMP subgroup of endometrial cancer can be further stratified by B7-H4 status. Simple Summary: Sleep is a fundamental human need. Good-quality sleep has a protective role that allows people to carry out daily activities adequately, ensuring well-being. Prolonged wakefulness causes a wide spectrum of disabilities. This study aims to understand the effects of sleep complaints on health and quality of life for cancer patients, and it has been conducted through the creation of questionnaires for patients to investigate the potential alteration of the sleep pattern. The results obtained may serve as the foundation for designing awareness campaigns, providing information, and updating patients, healthcare personnel, and caregivers. It is definitively important, in fact, to begin an evaluation of the negative effects of sleep complaints in the field of cancer. The model developed can also be replicated in different clinical settings: data adjustment by different parameters (i.e., geographic locations, age, sex, and gender) can be the key to improving the patient's quality of life. Sleep is a fundamental human need; sleep disruption, in fact, causes an increase in the activity of the sympathetic nervous system and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, metabolic effects, changes in circadian rhythms, and pro-inflammatory responses. The scientific literature is finally starting to pay attention to the central role of sleep alterations in patients health. Oxaliplatin is extensively used for the treatment of gastrointestinal cancer and other malignancies, with an increased frequency of use in recent years. This study aims to understand the effects of sleep complaints on health and quality of life in cancer patients treated with oxaliplatin. A study has been conducted through the creation and distribution of questionnaires to patients to investigate their complaints about sleep quality. We observed significant differences between males and females in evaluating sleep hygiene scores, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and previous difficulty sleeping. Moreover, in females, stress, worries, and anxiety seem to play a negative role in the sleep hygiene score. INTRODUCTION: Prostate cancer ranks as the third leading cause of death among Canadian men and is primarily treated with radiotherapy and prostatectomy. Given YouTube's significant global traffic, patients often turn to it for information on treatment and side effects. This study assessed YouTube videos for prostate cancer patients, focusing on radiotherapy, prostatectomy, and side effect management. METHODS: The study analyzed 50 YouTube videos, comparing their accuracy and coverage against the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), UpToDate, and cancer.ca. Two raters were involved in the review of the videos to ensure inter-rater reliability. RESULTS: Video lengths ranged from 1-60 minutes (mean 11 minutes) and creation dates ranged from 2012-2021. Videos were presented by physicians, patients, or allied health professionals (75%, 16%, and 8%, respectively). Results showed physician presenters had a Video Power Index (video popularity) of 23.45, while patient presenters had an average of 61.36 (almost three times as popular as physician-led videos). The overall accuracy of videos showed that 82% demonstrated completely accurate and detailed information, 18% showed partially complete information, and 76% showed no biased information. No false information was found in any videos. CONCLUSIONS: This study showed that while the YouTube informational videos included good coverage of treatment side effects, there were gaps in information regarding quality of life after treatment or management of side effects. Information from this study can benefit the provider-patient interaction, with the hope that healthcare providers create more videos on quality of life after treatment and management of side effects to satisfy patient needs. The aim of this study was to better understand the concept of patient activation in patients with cancer by identifying its dimensions and attributes and clarifying its definition through concept analysis. Methods: This concept analysis study used the method of Walker and Avant (2019), and systematically reviewed dictionary entries and 30 studies in various academic fields. Results: The concept of patient activation in patients with cancer was found to have four attributes: seeking health information, participating in treatment decision-making, confidence in health care, self-management behaviors. The antecedents identified were cancer history, fear of recurrence, information and resources provided by healthcare professionals, access to healthcare providers, negative perceptions of cancer, social support, and sociodemographic status. The consequences were appropriate treatment implementation, satisfaction with treatment, improved physical and mental health conditions, improved quality of life, reduced healthcare costs, and reduced stress. Conclusion: The development of patient activation measurements tailored to the characteristics of the disease and the goal of strengthening the role of patients, as well as the development and implementation of policies, programs, and guidelines to promote patient activation, will improve the medical experience and outcomes of cancer patients and adopt a more person-centered treatment approach. Research is an essential element in the practice of healthcare, and hospitals play a fundamental role in its promotion. Research in hospitals can improve the quality of care, knowledge of diseases and the discovery of new therapies. Hospitals can conduct research in various fields, including basic research, clinical research, population-based research and even hospital management research. The findings of hospital research can be directly applied to clinical practice and management, thereby enhancing the quality of patient care, a central paradigm in translational health. This article details the experience of the National Cancer Institute of Chile over the past 8 years in its role as a high-complexity public hospital, specialised institute, healthcare centre, teaching institution, and research facility. It reviews the work of generating and strengthening its institutional research model since its redesign in 2018, the key elements that underpin it, and discusses the challenges the institute faces in its growth amidst the increasing cancer epidemiology in Chile, the recent enactment of a National Cancer Law, the post-pandemic scenario that has left a significant waiting list of oncology patients, and the initiation of the design and construction process for the new institute building. Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer affecting women's quality of life (QoL) in many ways. Identifying QoL-related factors in these patients can help improve their function and treatment. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate factors related to the QoL of BC patients in Khuzestan province of Iran. Methods: This descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study was conducted on 180 BC patients in Khuzestan province, Iran. The health-related QoL of patients was measured using the EORTC-QLQ-C30 and EORTC QLQ-BR23 questionnaires. In order to analyze the data and identify relevant factors in health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in BC patients, descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression were performed in SPSS version 22. The statistical significance level was 0.05. Results: The mean QoL score in the patients was 59.58 ± 20.55. Among functional dimensions, the social dimension (80.74 ± 25.85) had the highest score, and sexual pleasure (10.27 ± 20.42) had the lowest score. In the dimension of symptoms, financial difficulties (60.37 ± 31.34) and diarrhea (6.23 ± 16.28) obtained the highest and lowest scores, respectively. There was a significant difference in the mean QoL score regarding different categories of education level (P = 0.01), residence (P = 0.02), supplemental insurance (P = 0.02), employment status (P = 0.02), and duration of illness (P = 0.02). Conclusions: The results of this study can provide many implications for the clinical outcomes and HRQOL of women with BC. Objectives: Palliative care deals with patients who are facing problems of life-threatening diseases. Under the Ayushman Bharat programme, a new cadre of Community Health Officers (CHOs) is provisioned at Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) who are nursing graduates. Being the team leader at the HWC level, having a low level of knowledge of palliative care would compromise their service. The study assessed the knowledge of CHOs about palliative care services in a rural district of Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, India. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study with a cross-sectional design was carried out among 314 CHOs posted in different HWCs of Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, during July–August' 2022. We used to collect data based on questionnaires of 'Palliative-Care-Knowledge Questionnaire-Basic' comprising items related to palliative care, the requirement of palliative care, pain management, communication, and dealing with psychosocial issues. A chi-square test was performed to check the association with educational- and experience-related variables and knowledge. Results: Overall, adequate knowledge was present in 216 (68.8%) and inadequate knowledge in 98 (31.2%) of CHOs. Improper knowledge was present regarding the role of oxygen supplementation in dying patients, the need for palliative care in human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, chronic non-malignant diseases, pain management, and communication about the prognosis of disease. The proportion of CHOs who had adequate knowledge who were highly educated (70%) and those who had previous job as CHO (73.3%). Almost similar knowledge scores were found among those who ever cared for or never cared for either terminally ill patients (P = 0.89) or cancer patients (P = 0.853). Conclusion: In-depth knowledge was lacking among the CHOs. Training and re-training of CHOs to develop technical and communication skills will help them deliver proper palliative care.
