Objective: Apolipoprotein M (ApoM) is a novel antiatherosclerotic protein which is present predominantly (~5%) in high density lipoprotein (HDL) and in trace amounts (<2%) in low density lipoprotein (LDL). In recent studies, it is reported that ApoM which is known to play important role in HDL metabolism via revers cholesterol transport, has protective effects against LDL oxidation and atherosclerosis. However, clinical studies revealing the association between ApoM and diseases are very limited. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the relationship between serum ApoM and lipid levels in restenosis patients and healthy controls on the basis of its effects on cholesterol metabolism. This is the first study revealing the association between serum ApoM and lipid levels in restenosis patients. Material and Methods: Thirty-six restenosis patients and 42 healthy controls were included in our study. Serum ApoM levels were measured by ELISA method. Results: The serum ApoM (p=0.022), total-cholesterol (Total-C) (p=0.008) and HDLcholesterol (HDL-C) (p<0.001) levels of patients were lower than the control group, while fasting blood glucose, HbA1c (p<0.001) and triglyceride (TG) (p=0.002) levels were higher. In addition, higher risk threshold values for serum TG (=150 mg/dL) and LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) (=130 mg/dL) in the restenosis group were detected to be associated with higher ApoM levels in the restenosis patient group (p=0.038 and p=0.041, respectively). However, this relationship was not observed in control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: Serum ApoM level exhibited a significant, positive correlation not only with the HDL-C level, but also with the Total-C, TG and LDL-C levels in patients with restenosis. These results indicated that the serum ApoM levels may affects the serum TG and cholesterol levels so that contributes to the development of restenosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

3. The Effect of Different Doses of Ellagic Acid on the Serum Lipid Profile and Total Antioxidant of Rat.

- Abstract
This study was planned to determine in which dose of ellagic acid it shows the optimum effect on lipid, lipoprotein and total antioxidant capacity. For this purpose, 40 male rats (Wistar-albino) weighing 200-250 g were used. Control, group 1 (EA 3 mg/kg), group 2 (EA 10 mg/kg), group 3 (EA 12 mg/kg) and group 4 (EA 20 mg/kg) were designated, each containing 8 rats. Following orally application of ellagic acid (EA) every other day for eight weeks, from the blood samples taken; the measurement of triglyceride, cholesterol, LDL and HDL were determined by modular auto-analyzer using commercial kit. VLDL levels were calculated by formula. The total antioxidant capacity (TAS) was measured through spectrophotometer using the commercial kit. When compared with the control group, it was found that while TAS, triglyceride, HDL and VLDL levels were increased, LDL and cholesterol levels were decreased in the all EA applied groups. These changes weren't important statistically (P=0.05). Consequently, with regard to the data acquired in this study, it is recommended that in further research, the protective dose of ellagic acid is higher than 20 mg/kg/day and prolonged use. 4. Doğal Akut Babesiosis'li Koyunlarda Serum Lipit Profili ve Lipoprotein Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi.

In this study, which was done to determine the lipid profile and the variations about the levels of lipoprotein in the blood of sheep naturally infected with Babesia ovis, 3-5 year old, 30 infected and 15 healthy, totally 45 Morkaraman breed sheep raised in Erciş county of Van city were used as materials. The measurement of triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL and HDL were studied by using enzymatic colorimetric method. VLDL levels were calculated by formula. The percentages of free fatty acids, triglyceride, phospholipids, cholesterol and cholesteryl esters were measured by using thin layer chromatography. In the infected group it was determined that the levels of triglyceride (P<0.001) and VLDL (P<0.001) statistically increased, but the HDL (P<0.05) decreased compared to control group. After the chromatographic determination of lipid amounts (%), in the infected group it was determined that triglyceride amount (P<0.001) statistically increased, but phospholipids (p<0.05) and cholesterol esters amounts (P<0.01) decreased compared to control group. As a result, it is said to be important that lipid levels in sheep babesiosis and lipoprotein levels are important for animals in terms of prognosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Makanan tinggi kolesterol yang dikonsumsi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, akan meningkatkan kolesterol darah dan meningkatkan insiden penyakit kardiovaskular. Walaupun telah dikenal adanya obat-obat hipolipidemik dan adanya antioksidan endogen namun hiperkolesterol masih menjadi masalah. Liang teh yang digunakan merupakan formulasi dari cincau hitam (Mesona palustris BL), pandan dan kayu manis. Kandungan senyawa bioaktif, senyawa fenol serta serat yang terkandung dalam liang teh berbasis cincau hitam efektif dalam menurunkan kolesterol. Produk fungsional ini diharapkan dapat memperbaiki profil lipid darah dan dapat diinformasikan kepada masyarakat khususnya bagi penderita hiperkolesterolemia sehingga dapat meminimalkan konsumsi obat-obatan sintetik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Postest. 20 tikus wistar jantan dikelompokkan dalam 4 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kelompok kontrol, kelompok tikus pengkondisian hiperkoleterol dengan pemberian aquades, kelompok tikus hiperkolesterol dengan pemberian liang teh dosis 1 sebesar 3,6 ml dan pemberian dosis 2 sebanyak 7,2 ml. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian liang teh dosis 1 dan dosis 2 mampu menurunkan kolesterol dan dapat meningkatkan HDL.

Odnos razine serumskoga kolesterola i rizika za moždani udar složen je, oprečan i prisutan u širokom rasponu serumskih razina ukupnoga kolesterola, LDL-a i HDL-a. Različite tvari različitog mehanizma djelovanja, ali s istim ciljem snižavanja razine serumskog LDL-a, statini, ezetimib i PCSK9 inhibitori snizuju incidenciju ishemijskoga moždanog udara, što izravno upućuje na uzročno-posljedičnu povezanost snižavanja serumske razine LDL-a i sprječavanja nastanka moždanog udara. Upozorenja o mogućemu povećanom riziku za hemoragijski moždani udar na temelju rezultata SPARCL istraživanja i statistički neznačajno povećanje rizika naznačeno u rezultatima IMPROVE-IT, FOURIER i Cholesterol Treatment Trialist metaanalize moguće upućuju kako bi značajno snižavanje LDL-C-a moglo uzrokovati hemoragijski moždani udar u posebno ranjivoj podskupini bolesnika, osobito u žena i bolesnika s loše reguliranom arterijskom hipertenzijom. S obzirom na to da je hemoragijski moždani udar u usporedbi s ishemijskim moždanim udarom rijedak, zabrinutost zbog mogućega povećanog rizika za hemoragijski moždani udar ne smije zasjeniti dobrobit od primjene lijekova za snižavanje LDL-C-a i boljeg ishoda vaskularnih bolesti u bolesnika liječenih ovom terapijom. Nužno je utvrditi stratifikaciju različitih kategorija bolesnika s obzirom na rizične čimbenike, kao i s obzirom na spol i životnu dob, te primijeniti individualan pristup i personalizaciju liječenja, kako u primarnoj tako i u sekundarnoj prevenciji moždanog udara., The correlation between serum cholesterol levels to stroke risk is complex and contradictory, and exists in a whole scope of serum levels of total cholesterol, LDL and HDL. Different substances with different action mechanisms, but with a shared goal of lowering serum LDL levels, statins, ezetimibe and PCSK9 inhibitors, reduce the incidence of IS (ischemic stroke), which directly suggests a cause-and-effect link between lowering serum LDL levels and preventing stroke. Warnings of a possible increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke (HS) based on the results of the SPARCL study and a statistically insignificant increase in risk indicated in the IMPROVE-IT and FOURIER results, as well as Cholesterol Treatment Trialist meta-analyses may suggest that a significant reduction in LDL-C could cause HS in a particularly vulnerable subgroup of patients, especially in women and patients with poorly regulated arterial hypertension. As HS is rare compared to IS, concerns about potential increased risk of HS should not overshadow the benefits of LDL-C-lowering drugs and better vascular effects in patients treated with this therapy. It is necessary to determine the stratification of different patient categories in terms of risk factors as well as gender and age, and apply an individual approach and personalised treatment in both primary and secondary prevention of stroke.

8. The impact of apelin level on the incidence of major adverse cardiac events after myocardial infarction with ST elevation

Background: During acute myocardial infarction, phosphorylated TnI levels, Ca2+ sensitivity and ATPase activity are decreased in the myocardium, and the elevation in Ca2+ levels activates protease I (calpain I), leading to the proteolytic degradation of troponins. Concurrently, hypoxia enhanced the expression of hypoxia inducible factor 1 alpha (HIF-1a) increasing the level of apelin, which limits infarct size, and improves myocardial function. ----- Methods: In this prospective observational study, 100 consecutive patients meeting the following criteria were included: continuous chest pain lasting > 30 min, an electrocardiogram (ECG) with ST-segment elevation (measured at the J-point) ≥ 2.5 mm in men < 40 years, ≥ 2 mm in men ≥ 40 years, or ≥ 1.5mm in women in leads V2-V3 and/or ≥ 1mm in other leads [in the absence of left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy or left bundle branch block (LBBB)], rise of specific biomarkers such as troponin I and the MB fraction of creatine kinase (CKMB), and patients who underwent reperfusion therapy. The levels of apelin-12, creatine kinase (CK), the MB fraction of creatine kinase (CKMB), troponin I, NT-proBNP, CRP, triglycerides, LDL and HDL cholesterol, and other routine laboratory parameters are measured. In particular, we evaluated the levels of apelin-12 and troponin I on the first and seventh days after reperfusion therapy in all patients. ----- Results: There was variability in apelin values on the first day (Kruskal-Wallis test) relative to segmental wall motion abnormalities (SWMAs) (p=0.046) and on the seventh day relative to different numbers of coronary lesions and stenoses (p2.2 for the association of apelin with MACE was determined, and the AUC was 0.71 (95% CI, 0.58–0.84). Survival analysis using the Kaplan-Meier method showed a lower rate of MACE among patients with apelin levels >2.2 (p = 0.002), and the ROC curve analysis showed a statistically significant difference in the area under the curve (p = 0.004). Pearson’s correlation between apelin-12 and creatine kinase-MB on the first day in patients without reperfusion injury was characterized with a p value, Uvod: Razina fosforiliranog troponina I, osjetljivost Ca2+ i aktivnost ATP-aze snižena je u miokardu tijekom akutnog infarkta miokarda. Mjerena je razina apelina-12, kreatin kinaze (CK), MB frakcije kreatin kinaze (CKMB), troponina I, NT-proBNP, CRP, triglicerida, LDL i HDL kolesterola te rutinskih laboratorijskih parametara. Posebna pozornost data je na mjerenje razine apelina-12 i troponina I prvi i sedmi dan nakon reperfuzijske terapije kod svih bolesnika. ----- Rezultati: Pronađena je varijabilnost u razini apelina prvog dana (Kruskal-Walisov test) relativna u odnosu na segmentalne abnormalnosti gibanja stijenke (SWMAs) (p=0.046) i sedmog dana relativna u odnosu na različiti broj koronarnih lezija i stenoza (p 2.2 bila je određena za povezanost apelina s MACE, a površina ispod krivulje (AUC) bila je 0.71 (95% interval podudarnosti CI, 0.58-0.84). Analiza preživljenja (koristeći Kaplan-Meierovu metodu) pokazala je nižu stopu MACE u bolesnika s razinom apelina > 2.2 (p=0.002), a ROC krivulja je pokazala statistički značajnu razliku u površini ispod krivulje (p=0.004). Aim: Stroke ranks second among the causes of death world wideand related disability and death rates are high. Recent studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency is higher in patients with ischemic stroke compared to other patients and vitamin D deficiency has emerged as a new risk factor. The aims of the study are to investigate the relation between levels of vitamin D in patients diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke with levels of vitamin B12, glucose, HbA1c, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, C-reactive protein (CRP) and lipids, and to determine the effect of vitamin D deficiency on other factors that increase the risk of acute ischemic stroke. Materials and Methods: Two thousand seven hundred thirty-four patients diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke were included in the study. Results of laboratory tests for levels of vitamin D, vitamin B12, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, VLDL cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose, HbA1c, BUN, creatinine and CRP were recorded. Results: As for correlation between vitamin D and other parameters, positive correlations between vitamin D and age, vitamin B12, BUN and creatinine, and negative correlations between vitamin D and triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, VLDL cholesterol, glucose, HbA1c and CRP were identified. Vitamin D and HDL cholesterol showed no correlation in normal HDL values, but there was positive correlation in patients with HDL cholesterol levels 40 mg/dL. Conclusion: Vitamin D levels in patients that suffered ischemic stroke were significantly correlated with lipid metabolism, glucose metabolism, inflammation, kidney function and vitamin B12 levels. Bu çalışma, farklı poliamin kombinasyonları ile beslenen yetişkin sıçanların vücut ağırlıkları değişimi ve kan lipid düzeylerinin saptanması, gebelik sırasında farklı poliamin kombinasyonları ile beslenmenin yavru sıçanların büyüme ve gelişmesi üzerine etkileri ile kan lipid düzeylerini ne şekilde etkilediğinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında, 35 adet Spraque Dawley türü dişi sıçan kullanılmıştır ve çalışma 5 gruba ayrılmıştır. Birinci grupta yer alan sıçanlar kontrol grubu (G1) olup, deney süresince sadece normal pelet yem ile beslenmiştir. Diğer 4 grupta yer alan sıçanlara sırasıyla put (G2), spd (G3), spm (G4) ve put/spd/spm (G5) çözeltilerinden gebelik öncesi, gebelik dönemi ve laktasyon dönemi boyunca oral gavaj yoluyla verilmiştir. Ayrıca çalışmanın başlangıcında, çiftleşme öncesi, gebelik sonu ve laktasyon sonunda yetişkin sıçanların, çalışmanın sonunda ise yavru sıçanların kan örnekleri alınarak serum lipid analizleri yapılmıştır. Gebelik öncesi dönemde yem ve su tüketimi açısından en az tüketim olan grubun spd (G3) kullanılan grup, laktasyon döneminde de vücut ağırlığı bakımından en az olan grubun spd (G3) kullanılan grup olduğu bulunmuştur. Gebelik öncesi dönem ve laktasyon döneminde vücut ağırlığı bakımından en fazla artış olan grubun put/spd/spm (G5) kullanılan grup olduğu gösterilmiştir. Put (G2) kullanan grupta gebelik öncesi dönem ile gebelik döneminde belirgin LDL kolesterol artışı, gebelik dönemi ile laktasyon döneminde belirgin HDL kolesterol artışı, gebelik öncesi dönem ile gebelik döneminde belirgin trigliserid azalması gözlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak sıçanlarda kullanılan farklı poliaminlerin kan lipit düzeyleri ve vücut ağırlığı üzerine olan etkileri gösterilmiştir. This study is done for determination of blood lipid levels and changes in body weight of adult rats fed with different combinations of polyamine, effects on growth and development of rat pups fed with different combinations of polyamine during pregnancy and examining the effects on blood lipid levels. In the study, 35 Sprague Dawley female rats were used and were divided into 5 groups. First group of rats is control group and they were fed only with normal pellet during the test. Rats located in other 4 groups respectively fed via oral gavage for prior to pregnancy, during pregnancy and lactation with concentrations of put (G2), spd (G3), spm (G4), and put/spd/spm (G5). Also blood samples of adult rats were taken and serum lipid analysis was performed before the beginning of the study, before mating, at the end of pregnancy and at the end of lactation. Blood samples of pups were taken and serum lipid analysis was performed at the end of the study. In the period before pregnancy, it was found that spd group having at least feed and water consumption and during lactation, body weight was found to be the least increasing spd group. During before pregnancy and lactation has been shown to the most increase body weight in put/spd/spm. It was observed for put group at pregnancy and before pregnancy levels significant increase in LDL cholesterol, during lactation and pregnancy significant increase in HDL cholesterol, during pregnancy and before pregnancy significant decrease in triglycerides. As a result, this study shows the effects of different polyamines used for rats to the blood lipid leves and body weight. 66

Akut faz yanıt, pek çok doku hasarında ortaya çıkan, yangısal olaylardan dokuyu koruyan hızlı nonspesifik bir süreçtir. Bu reaksiyonlar esnasında akut faz proteinleri (AFP) olarak adlandırılan bir grup proteinin, sentez ya da yıkım hızlarının artması veya azalmasına bağlı olarak plazma konsantrasyonları anlamlı düzeyde değişmektedir. Bu çalışmada toplam 40 adet erkek rat kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada 5 grup (n=8) oluşturulmuştur. Çalışma grupları; Kontrol 1, deneme odasında tutulan ve hiçbir egzersiz programı uygulanmayan ratlardan oluşmaktadır, Kontrol 2 grubu 1 saat süresince koşu bandında tutulan hayvanlardan, Deneme 1 grubu 10m/dakika hızda; Deneme 2, 15m/dakika hızda ve Deneme 3 grubu akut tüketici egzersiz ya yaptırılan ratlardan oluşmuştur. Deneme gruplarındaki ratlara 1 haftalık deney süresince her gün günde 1 saat egzersiz yaptırılmıştır. Yedinci günün sonunda eter anestezisi altında kalp içi kan örnekleri toplanmış ve elde edilen serum örnekleri analiz yapılınca kadar -20oC'de saklanmıştır. Tüm örneklerden aynı anda CRP, SAA, haptoglobin, trigliserid, kolesterol, HDL ve LDL düzeyleri ölçümleri yapılmıştır. CRP, SAA ve haptoglobin analizleri spesifik ticari test kitleriyle ELISA cihazında, kolesterol, trigliserid, LDL ve HDL düzeyleri ticari test kitleriyle biyokimya otoanlizöründe yapılmıştır. Sonuçlar istatistiki olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre egzersizin ratlarda akut faz proteinlerden CRP ve haptoglobin düzeylerinde önemli artışa neden olmuştur. SAA düzeyleri de artmıştır bu artışın istatistiki önemde değildir. Ayrıca akut egzersizin kolesterol, LDL ve HDL düzeylerinde iyileşmeye neden olduğu ancak trigliserid düzeyinde beklenen değişikliğe neden olmamıştır.Bu çalışmanın sonucuna göre, akut egzersiz ratlarda lipid profilinde düzelmelere neden olduğu ancak egzersizle indüklenen akut faz yanıtı da başlattığı belirlenmiştir. Acute phase response is a non-specifif response which occurs in many tissue damages and it is a quick non-specific process that protects the tissue from inflammotory events. During this reaction, o group of proteins named as acute phase proteins (APP), depending on the increase of synthesis or degredation, plasma concentrations changes at an important rate. 40 male rats are used in this study. 5 groups(n=8) are formed. Working groups are: Control 1; rats which are held in test room and no exercise programme is applied, Control 2; rats which are held in treadmill for 1 hr. First experiment group: rats which exercises 10m/min, second experiment group: Rats which exercises 2m/min and Third experiment group: Rats in the experiment group are exercised for 1 hour every day during a week. At the end of the seventh day, blood samples were collected under ether anesthesia by intracardiac way and serum samples were stored at -200C before all measurements. CRP, SAA, haptoglobin, triglyceride, cholesterol, HDL and LDL levels were measured at the same time. CRP, SAA and haptoglobin levels were analysed in ELISA reader, serum cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL and HDL levels were measured by using biochemistry otoanalizor with commercial test kits. Results were evaluated statistically.According to the data that obtained this study, exercise caused a significant increase in the levels of haptoglobin and CRP. SAA levels were also increased in rats with exercise but this increase were not significant statistically. Furthermore, acute exercise caused improvement on cholesterol, LDL and HDL but it were not cause expected changes in triglyceride levels.As a result of this study, it is determined that acute exercise caused improvement on lipid profile in rats but it also started exercise induced acute phase response. ABSTRAK Percobaan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan berbagai tingkat daun katuk terhadap kadar kolesterol, trigliserida, LDL, dan HDL dalam darah ayam broiler. Percobaan dilakukan di Laboratorium Industri Pakan Ternak Dan Teknologi, Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Hasanuddin. 64 ekor DOC berjenis kelamin campur, dengan metode rancangan acak lengkap. Ransum perlakuan adalah: P0 = contol, P1 = kontrol + 1% tepung daun katuk, P2 = Kontrol + 2% daun katuk makan, P3 = kontrol + 3% tepung daun katuk. Perlakuan berjumlah 4, sehingga total perlakuannya menjadi 16. Ransum kontrol terdiri dari jagung kuning, minyak kelapa, limbah udang, tepung ikan, ampas tahu, kacang kedelai. Selama percobaan ayam broiler diberi pakan dan minum secara adlibitung. penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung daun katuk ke dalam pakan tidak mempengaruhi konsentrasi kolesterol, trigliserida, dan LDL dalam darah ayam broiler. Tetapi secara signifikan meningkatkan konsentrasi HDL darah tetapi tidak memiliki efek pada konsentrasi kolesterol darah, trigliserida darah, dan LDL darah ayam broiler. Agresyonu etkileyen birçok faktör bulunmaktadır. İnsanlarda ve köpeklerde anormal serum lipid konsantrasyonlarının agresyonla yakın ilişkili olduğu bildirilmiştir. Askeri Devriye Köpeklerinde (AsDeK) ise serum lipid (total kolesterol ve yüksek dansiteli lipoprotein) konsantrasyonlarındaki değişime ilişkin mevcut bilgi oldukça sınırlıdır. Sunulan çalışmada, kontrol edilebilir agresyon eğitimi almış askeri devriye köpeklerinde saldırganlık dereceleri ile serum lipid konsantrasyonları arası muhtemel ilişki araştırıldı. Çalışmada materyal olarak yaşları 11-86 ay arasında değişen, her iki cinsiyetten, toplam 50 AsDeK kullanıldı. Eğitimin tüm aşamalarını başarıyla tamamlayan 30 köpek, agresyon derecelerine göre; aşırı agresif (n=10; Grup 1), orta derece agresif (n=10; Grup 2) ve hafif derece agresif (n=10; Grup 3) olmak üzere sınıflandırıldı. Agresif karakter göstermeyen veya eğitimin herhangi bir düzeyinde başarısız olan 20 köpek ise (n=20; Grup 4) agresif olmayan grubu oluşturdu. This paper describes a study of the effect of a single intraperitoneal non-lethal dose of cycloheximide (CHM; 2.0 mg/kg body weight) on the concentration of plasma lipids and lipoproteins in male rats killed one, two, three, four and nine days after receiving the dose. The concentration of triglycerides, total cholesterol, high-density lipoproteins (HDL)-cholesterol and low-density lipoproteins (LDL)-cholesterol was measured in treated and control animals. The effect of CHM on the concentration of triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, and LDL-cholesterol was visible in rat plasma throughout the study. Total cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol concentrations showed the same pattern of changes, probably due to the reversible inhibition of apolipoprotein apo A-I synthesis by CHM. The concentration of triglycerides decreased after a lag period of three days when the reserves of apolipoprotein apo B, the main apolipoprotein of very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL)-cholesterols produced in the liver, were consumed.

Fermente süt ürünlerinin (kolesterolsüz kontrol, kolesterollü kontrol, pastörize yağlı yoğurt, pastörize yağsız yoğurt, yağlı yoğurt, yağsız yoğurt, L. jhonsonii Lal içeren probiotik yoğurt, pastörize probiotik yoğurt) kolesterolce zenginleştirilmiş yemle 21 gün süreyle beslenen (% 0.3, 0.5 ve 0.8 kolesterol ilaveli) ratların toplam serum kolesterol, LDL-kolesterol, HDL-kolesterol ve trigliserid üzerine etkisi belirlenmiştir. Ratlar 21 gün süreyle beslenmişler ve 7, 14 ve 21. günlerde kan serumlarında toplam kolesterol, HDL-kolesterol, LDL-kolesterol ve trigliserid ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Her üç hafta sonunda da yağsız yoğurt ve pastörize yağsız yoğurtla beslenen grupların toplam kolesterol, LDL-kolesterol ve trigliserid seviyeleri düşük bulunmuştur. Yağlı yoğurt ve probiotik yoğurdun ise toplam kolesterol, LDL- kolesterol ve trigliserid seviyeleri üzerine etkisi olmadığı gözlenmiştir. Yalnızca 3. hafta da önemli olmayan bir düşüş bulunmuştur. Pastörize yağlı ve pastörize probiotik yoğurtta da benzer sonuçlar bulunmuştur. %0.8 kolesterollü yem + yağsız yoğurtla beslenen grupta kontrol grubuna göre benzer sonuçlar bulunmuştur. Bütün grupların HDL-kolesterol seviyelerinde 3. hafta sonunda birbirine benzer sonuçlar gözlenmiştir. Total blood serum cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and trigyliceride levels were decreased in the end of 21 days, when the rats were fed with non-fat yoghurt and pasteurised non-fat yoghurt, that when the rats were fed with full-fat milk yoghurt probiotic yoghurt total blood cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and trigyliceride levels were effected (pO.Ol). However, total blood serum cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and trigyliceride level in 21 days were decreased slightly, pasteurised full-fat and probiotic yoghurt show similar results. Povećana oktivnost kolesterol ester transfer proteina (CETP), može prema teoriji snbiziti razinu HDL kolesterola, mjenjajući trensfer kolesterol estera iz HDL-a u apo.B sadržavajuće lipoproteine (VLDL). Da bismo odredili do koje je mjere promjena aktivnosti CETP-a vezana uz promjenu lipidnog statusa ispitanika, komparirali smo nalaze CETP s nalazima ukupnog te HDL i LDL kolesterola, te triglicerida kod ispitanika s i bez faktora rizika razvoja ateroskleroze. Ispitanici s kvocijentom LDL/HDL < 3, 5 grupirani su u skupinu bez rizika (A), a ispitanici s LDL/HDL > 3, 5 kao rizična skupina (B). Broj ispitanika bio je 24 u svakoj skupini. U skupini ispitanika s malim rizikom razvoja ateroskleroze nalazi kolesterola su u skladu s nalazima LDL kolesterola (
