The article discusses a Report of the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF)/American Heart Association (AHA) Task Force on clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) and methodology. It states that Guideline writing committee (GMC) members must have no relevant relationship with industry and other entities (RWI). The purpose of this Methodology summit was to compare and contrast the current ACCF/AHA CPG methodology with the standards proposed by the Institute of Medicine (IOM), if any changes should be implemented.
