The article presents a case study on the installation of a wire-rope guardrail along Hume Highway in Australia. It is stated that the project at Hume Highway required ongoing diversion and delineation of traffic as work was going on. The contractor for the project needed to open and close the work zone to address traffic patterns and congestion problems. The Movable Vulcan Barrier from Quixote Transportation Safety Inc. was chosen as an alternative to the traditional concrete barrier.
