This paper reported on new species from China which differs from other species of Homogryllacris in being without styli of male subgenital plate. The nearly complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome), except control region, of the new species Homogryllacris parcibrevipenna was sequenced and analyzed. This partial mitogenome was 15509 bp in length and encoded 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), and 2 ribosomal RNA unit genes. The gene arrangement and contents were consistent with other members of the Gryllacrididae. All the PCGs were started with the standard ATN codons except ND1 with TTG; and most of PCGs were terminated with a complete stop codon (TAA/TAG). Most tRNAs could be folded into the typical cloverleaf secondary structures, while tRNASer1 lacked a DHU stem. This data could enrich the genome information available for Gryllacrididae and facilitate phylogenetic studies of related insects. All the material were deposited in the Museum of Guangxi Normal University.

Herein one new species of Apterolarnaca is reported from Southwest China, Yunnan. The morphological features are described, and provided with colored charts of classification features. Up to now, the number of the genus reach four for Chinese fauna. The hootype is deposited in the Museum of Guangxi Normal University.

This paper lists all known Chinese Raspy Crickets (Gryllacrididae) following the scheme proposed by Cadena-Castañeda. A total of 23 genera, 104 species, 3 new combinations, 4 new synonyms, and 1 new replacement name are recorded. Based on these known species, keys to genera (or subgenera) and species with the diagnosis of each genus are also given. Also we provide the Chinese name of all categories.

Tegmina reduced, at least longer than 2.0 mm, usually much longer than pronotum but not reaching apices of hind femora, black or yellowish brown, veins reduced, blackish or darker than the cells. Hind wings reduced or absent, hyaline or a little smoky. The most are recorded from Indonesia (Sumatra and Java) and Malaysia, and two of which are distributed in Southwestern China. Discussion. Phryganogryllacris laoshanica sp. nov. is described from Shandong, China. The new species is the first mesopterous species belonging to the genus Phryganogryllacris. Types of the new species in this paper are deposited in Shanghai Entomological Museum, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

One new species of Eremus Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1888 is reported from Southwest China, Yunnan. The morphological features are described, and provided with colored charts of classification features. Up to now, only two species have been described in the Chinese fauna. Type specimen is deposited in the Institute of Entomoceutics Research, Dali University (DUIER).

In this paper, one new species of the genus Homogryllacris Liu, 2007, i.e. Homogryllacris obtusitubera sp. nov. and the previously unknown female of Homogryllacris brevispina Shi, Guo & Bian, 2012 are described from China. Meanwhile, the morphological photographs and habitus of these species are provided.

Two new combinations of the genus Zalarnaca Gorochov, 2005 are reported and illustrated, i.e. Zalarnaca (Glolarnaca) sinica (Li, Liu & Li, 2016) com. nov.; Zalarnaca (Glolarnaca) hainanica (Li, Liu & Li, 2016) com. nov. A key to the species of the genus Apotrechus Brunner von Wattenwyl from China is presented. A new species and a newcombination are reported: A. bilobus sp. nov., A. parvospinus (Liu & Yin, 2002) com. nov. The specimens recorded here are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University.

A taxonomic study of the subfamily Gryllacridinae is presented. Four new species belonging to two genera are described: Larnaca sinica sp. nov., Larnaca hainanica sp. nov.; Prosopogryllacris chinensis sp. nov., Prosopogryllacris incisa sp. nov.. A revised key and distributional data are given.

Three new species of the genus Woznessenskia Gorochov, 2002 from China are described in this paper, i.e. W. arcoida sp. nov., W. brevisa sp. nov., W. bimacula sp. nov.. A key to the species of the genus Woznessenskia is provided.

After the revision of several fossils and observations of recent taxa, we propose a new interpretation of the wing venation pattern for the ‘orthopteroid lineage’. The Orthoptera and several taxa previously assigned to the paraphyletic group ‘Protorthoptera’ are included in a common clade, Archaeorthoptera taxon nov. The Orthoptera and some closest relative groups are included in the Panorthoptera sensu nov. These assignments are based on new autapomorphies based on venation patterns. A cladistic phylogenetic analysis of the Orthoptera is performed for the first time on the fossil record of this group, based on 74 characters (131 informative states). Three taxa assigned to the Archaeorthoptera nec Panorthoptera compose the outgroup. The ingroup is composed of three Panorthoptera nec Orthoptera and 63 Orthoptera, mainly from the Palaeozoic and Mesozoic. Following this initial phylogeny, we propose several nomenclatural changes; the Ensifera are redefined and the relationships between Caelifera and Ensifera sensu nov., and those between the major clades of modern Ensifera sensu nov., are clarified. Relationships within the ‘oedischioid’ stem-group remain unclear. The evolution of the venational structures within the Orthoptera is discussed and in this analysis the Orthoptera were not clearly affected by the Permo-Triassic biodiversity “crisis”. The capacity of the fossil taxa to be used in phylogenetic analyses is discussed, using the example of the ‘orthopteroid’ insects.
