Abstract

The article discusses the author's research on environmental education and the production of knowledge at the Aquarium of the Pacific non-profit edutainment institution in Long Beach, California. The author utilized philosopher Michel Foucault's concepts of biopolitics and governmentality in order to explore how the aquarium's animals actively participate in creating educational experiences for guests.
