Abstract

Nuclear deep inelastic structure functions as well as parton distribution functions in a nuclei are investigated in the framework of rescaling model. Our analysis is based on analytical expressions for quark and gluon densities in a proton derived at the leading order of QCD coupling. By fitting the rescaling parameters from the experimental data on ratio for several nuclear targets, we derive predictions for corresponding nuclear parton distributions and, thus, for shadowing and antishadowing effects. Abstract

We give predictions for the ratio at small values of Bjorken variable x in the first three orders of perturbation theory. We show an approximate x-independence of at low x and non-large values (), irrespectively on the gluon density in a proton used in the calculations. Abstract

We show the results in [1, 2] for computing the QCD contributions to the scale evolution of average gluon and quark jet multiplicities. The new results came due a recent progress in timelike small-x resummation obtained in the MS factorization scheme. They depend on two nonperturbative parameters with clear and simple physical interpretations. A global fit of these two quantities to all available experimental data sets demonstrates by its goodness how our results solve a longstandig problem of QCD. Including all the available theoretical input within our approach, αs(5) (Mz) = 0.1199 ± 0.0026 has been obtained in the MS scheme in an approximation equivalent to next-to-next-to-leading order enhanced by the resummations of Inx terms through the NNLL level and of In Q2 terms by the renormalization group. It is shown that in the leading twist approximation of the Wilson operator product expansion with "frozen" and analytic strong coupling constants, considering the Bessel-inspired behavior of the structure functions F2 and the derivative δ 1nF2/δ 1n(1/x) at small x values, obtained for a flat initial condition in the DGLAP evolution equations, leads to a good agreement with the deep inelastic scattering H1 and ZEUS experimental data from HERA. Abstract

We study the heavy quark production processes with the transverse momentum dependent (unintegrated) gluon distribution function in a proton which is obtained recently using the Kimber-Martin-Ryskin prescription from the Bessel-inspired behavior of parton densities at small Bjorken x values. Our results agree with the latest HERA experimental data for reduced cross sections σccred(x,Q²) and σbbred(x,Q²), and also for deep inelastic structure functions Fc2(x,Q²) and Fb2(x,Q²) in a wide range of x and Q² values. Comparisons with the predictions based on the Ciafaloni-Catani-Fiorani-Marchesini evolution equation and with the results of conventional pQCD calculations performed at the first three orders of perturbative expansion are presented. We study the new relation [B. A. Kniehl and A. V. Kotikov, arXiv:1702.03193.] between the anomalous dimensions, resummed through next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic order, in the Dokshitzer-Gribov-Lipatov-Altarelli-Parisi evolution equations for the first Mellin moments Dq,g(μ²) of the fragmentation functions, which correspond to the average multiplicities of hadrons in jets initiated by quarks and gluons, respectively. This relation is shown to lead to probabilistic properties of the properly rescaled parton jet multiplicities obtained from standard ones by extracting the quark and gluon "color charges" CF and CA, respectively. We present a new approach to consider and include both the perturbative and the nonperturbative contributions to the multiplicities of gluon and quark jets. Thanks to this new method, we have included for the first time new contributions to these quantities obtaining next-to-next-to-leading-logarithmic resummed formulas. Our analytic expressions depend on two nonperturbative parameters with a clear and simple physical interpretation.
