Residential satisfaction is related to the qualities of housing and neighbourhood, the accessibility of the household to different services and facilities, and economical opportunities and social networks. Morever, with the development of urbanization, the choice of housing location and the attitudes of the household in choosing the location have become an important subject which is evaluated in the housing and real estate market. Housing location choice attitudes of the household, having different socio-economical and demographic structures, play a significant role in the development of urban structure and urban area, and real estate market. The aim of this article is to empirically analyze the effective determinants (or factor) in the choice of housing location with respect to household mobility in the context of residential satisfaction in a medium-sized city. In accordance with this aim, housing location choice is estimated by the behavioural model and statistical (factor, regression and variant) analysis which were obtained by using the data set based on the questionnaires selected by snowball households in the sample area of Bolu city. The results show that housing location choice or preference changes in accordance with the socio-economical and demographic indicators of the household in terms of housing mobility in the spatial area of Bolu city. This change was determined to be effective of household the education, salary, the ownership of the property and the age of the head of the household. In conclusion, socio-economical and demographic factors are effective in housing location choice in the context of residential satisfaction in Turkey in general

The city centre is a place of emblematic significance for the urban community, where the essence of the socio-urban identity is condensed. The centre of the post-socialist city has travelled varied meanings and extensions that have been perceived differentiated between sequences of generations. Functionalist stratifications have induced in the collective imagination a superposed series of centres: historical, tourist, economic, cultural, each dilating or contracting the urban centre’s limits, depending on the significance that has been inoculated to the receiving subject. It was starting with year 1977 that the political will imposed the achievement of a new “Civic Centre” which was desired to be an imprint of the cultural and scientific progress of that moment. Communist interventions attempted to uniform the urban landscape by inserting visual and emotional mutations. The present analysis regards the perception of Bucharest`s centre and offers a perspective on the relation between residents and place, considering that human behaviour indicates some inconsistencies related to the urban planning of the post-socialist city that deals with intense processes of identity transformation.

On the basis of a previously tested method, the cognition of the spatial extent of the Mediterranean in Slovenia is presented. The Mediterranean may be determined on the basis of numerous and very diverse criteria. It is therefore a very subjectively determined notion, where geographical and non-geographical definitions can be treated as equivalent. The research made use of a questionnaire method, which revealed the opinions of the inhabitants living in the area, generally regarded as being Mediterranean. The determination of the Mediterranean was achieved with the aid of a special question. Respondents were asked to graphically delineate its border in Slovenia on a specially prepared general map included in the questionnaire on the basis of their subjective complex perception of the characteristics by them understood as Mediterranean. The questionnaire was spatially structured by the following regions: Slovene Istria, the Vipava Valley, the Vipava Hills, the Goriška ravan, the Brda Hills, the Kras, the Pivka Basin, the Reka Valley, the Brkini Hills and the Matarsko podolje and Ljubljana with its surroundings. By drawing on the fuzzy logic theory and helped by computer techniques all the answers were merged on a special map showing the extent and membership of the fuzzy set “Mediterranean” within the crisp set “Slovenia”. The border between the Mediterranean and non-Mediterranean part of Slovenia is in this way established as a continuous transition. The mean value of this transition goes from Šempeter, passes the eastern flank of Karst, beside Divača and ends on the eastern side of Slavnik. A more restrictive criterion of the membership function value of 0.95, includes in the Slovenian Mediterranean only the sea and its most immediate hinterland. Particularly interesting proved differences in the spatial cognition of the Mediterranean’s borders in Slovenia between different survey regions.
