Chrysolophus amherstiae and Chrysolophus pictus are two related species of Chrysolophus. Understanding the differences in their mitochondrial genome structure is of great significance for studying their phylogenetic relationship. In this study, the full mitochondrial genome of C. amherstiae was sequenced and annotated and analyzed with C. pictus to reveal their structural differences. At the same time, the phylogenetic trees were constructed based on the BI and ML methods with other species of the same family to analyze the phylogenetic relationship of Phasianidae. The results showed that the basic characteristics of mitochondrial genomes of C. amherstiae and C. pictus were similar. By comparing the secondary structures of rRNA and the relative synonymous codon usage of protein-coding genes, the subtle differences of mitochondrial structures between the two were further demonstrated. For the first time, we report the complete mitochondrial genome of Paroplapoderus tentator Faust, which is 163,47 bp in length. The total number of genes in the genome was 41, including 13 PCGs; 2 rRNA genes; 19 tRNA genes; and 7 replication initiation region OHs. The genome consisted of 39.32% A, 34.17% T, 9.75% C, and 16.76% G. Phylogenetic trees indicate that Paroplapoderus is closely related to Apoderus. In this study, we reported a complete mitochondrial genome of Chinese Serow from Guiyang. It has a circular genome of 16,442 bp including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and a control region. In the phylogenetic tree, we found it clustered tightly with a sequence with a distinct white forehead and white face outlook in the genus Capricornis, which indicated there are a certain number of this species. The complete mitochondrial of Cynops cyanurus cyanurus was determined by using Sanger sequencing and the mitogenome size of C. c. cyanurus was 16,465 bp. It contained 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, 1 control region (D-loop) and a non-coding region (NC). In addition, the phylogenetic tree shows that C. c. cyanurus has the closest relationship with C. c. chuxiongensis. Therefore, we sequenced its complete mitochondrial genome, which is circular in shape with 16,511 bp length and have a structure typical to mammals. Due to the multiple causes, the population of roe deer has declined significantly. In this study, we analyzed the complete mitogenome of Capreolus pygargus bedfordi, whose genome was 16,357 bp long. There were 13 protein-coding genes (PCG), two ribosomal RNA genes (12S rRNA and 16S rRNA), 22 transfer RNA genes, and one control region. Nine PCGs started with ATG, while NAD2, NAD3, and NAD5 genes commenced with ATA, and ND4L began with GTG. ND6 and eight tRNA genes were encoded on the L-strand. Cynops cyanurus chuxiongensis is distributed in Yunnan plateau. In this paper, we sequenced and determined the complete mitochondrial genome of C. c. chuxiongensis. The assembled mitogenome is 16,465 bp in length and encoding 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, two ribosomal RNA genes (12S rRNA and 16S rRNA), and one control region (D-loop). In this study, we sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of Argali sheep (Ovis ammon). The total length was 16,612 bp, which contained 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes, and a control region (D-loop). Eight tRNA genes with one PCG (ND6) encoded on the L-strand, others were encoded on the H-strand. The neighbor-joining analysis shows that Argali sheep has a close relationship with the same genus species of Ovis aries and Ovis orientalis. Red-and-white giant flying squirrel (Petaurista alborufus) is a widely distributed but rarely studied species. Here, we sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome about it, which is a circular genome of 16,511 bp and have a typical structure with mammals. The base composition shows higher composition of A\T. There are 61 variations and eight base deletions between two sequences when compared with the reported sequence (JQ743657). The complete mitochondrial genome of tufted deer (Elaphodus cephalophus) has been described in our research. The sequence of this genome is 16356 bp with a circular structure, and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and one control region. When compare with the reference sequence (DQ873526), it shows that there are 262 variations, 4 base deletions and 13 base insertions. In this study, we reported the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of a red panda (Ailurus fulgens). The mitogenome (GenBank accession number MK886830) length is 16,517 bp and exhibits the typical structure of mammalian mitochondrial genomes contains 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs, two ribosomal RNAs, and one control region. The tRNASer (AGY) gene failed to form the typical clover-leaf secondary structure as it lacked the dihydrouridine (DHU) arm. phylogenetically, our sequence cluster together with genus Ailurus, which showed a closer genetic relationship. In this study, we described the complete mitochondrial genome of Alpine musk deer (Moschus chrysogaster) from China. It has a circular genome of 16,352 bp (GeneBank number: MK697349) with a higher A + T content of 62.06%, including 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes (12S rRNA and 16S rRNA), and 1 control region (D-loop), which was similar to typical vertebrate mitochondrial DNA. The phylogenetic analysis indicated that our sequence clustered with two Alpine musk deer subspecies from Sichuan, China. The complete mitochondrial genome of Chinese serow (Capricornis milneedwardsii) has been described. It is a circular genome of 16,441 bp with a higher A + T content of 60.25%. By reconstructing a Maximum-likelihood (ML) phylogenetic tree, we found that our sample is more closely related to a C. sumatraensis individual from Cambodia (FJ207534) than a Chinese serow individual (KF856568) from closer geographic distance. Here, we report the first complete mitochondrial genome of Gekko subpalmatus. The genome of Gekko subpalmatus is 17,105 bp in length and consists of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 1 control region. The phylogenetic tree reveals that G. subpalmatus is a sister group to G. hokouensis and shows (((((G. subpalmatus, G. hokouensis), G. swinhonis), G. japonicus), G. chinensis), G. gecko) with strong support. We determined the complete mitochondrial genome of the tree frog, Polypedates braueri using next generation sequencing (NGS) and Sanger sequencing. The mitogenome of P. braueri was 19,904 bp in length, which contained 12 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, two rRNAs, and two control regions (D-Loop). A noncoding sequence (NC) was discovered between tRNALys and ATP6 gene, as well as replaced the original position of ATP8 gene. The ND5 gene was found between the two control regions. The dwarf blue sheep (Pseudois schaeferi) belongs to the subfamily Caprinae within the Cetartiodactyla. Here, we report on the complete mitochondrial genome of a dwarf blue sheep from Nangqian of Qinghai, China. The genome (MK087727) has a length of 16,709 bp and exhibits the typical structure of mammalian mitochondrial genomes. Phylogenetically, the new dwarf blue sheep formed a strongly supported sister lineage to the previously reported P. schaeferi (JQ040802). Here, we report the complete mitochondrial genome of a blue sheep subspecies (Pseudois nayaur szechuanensis) from Gongga Mountains of Sichuan, China. The genome (GenBank accession number MH719216) has a length of 16,664 bp and exhibits the typical structure of mammalian mitochondrial genomes. Phylogenetically, the newly generated mitochondrial genome is nested within the genus Pseudois group and formed a strongly supported (100% bootstrap) sister lineage to the previously reported P. n. szechuanensis (GenBank accession number, KJ784494). We describe the complete mitochondrial genome of the Endangered fish Anabarilius liui yalongensis. It is a circular molecule of 16,608 bp in size, and all genes show the typical gene arrangement conforming to the vertebrate consensus. The cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequence of A. liui yalongensis and other 21 species from 14 genera were used for phylogenetic analysis by Bayesian inference and maximum likelihood methods. The complete mitochondrial genome of Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) from China has been described in this study. It has a circular genome of 16,996 bp with a higher A + T content of 58.65%, and the base composition is A: 32.31%, G: 14.29%, T: 26.35%, C: 27.06%. When compared with the reported individual (KR919624) from China, there are 81 variations and 58 base deletion between the two sequences. The phylogenetic analysis indicated our sequence separated clearly from Eurasian lynx individuals in the previous publications. Platysternon megacephalum is the only living representative species of Platysternidae and only three subspecies remain: P. m. megalorcephalum, P. m. shiui, and P. m. peguense. However, previous reports implied that P. m. peguense has distinct morphological and molecular features. The characterization of the mitogenome has been accepted as an efficient means of phylogenetic and evolutionary analysis. Hence, this study first determined the complete mitogenome of P. m. peguense with the aim to identify the structure and variability of the P. m. peguense mitogenome through comparative analysis. Furthermore, the phylogenetic relationship of the three subspecies was tested. Based on different tRNA gene loss and degeneration of these three subspecies, their rearrangement pathways have been inferred. Phylogenetic analysis showed that P. m. peguense is a sister group to (P. m. megalorcephalum and P. m. shiui). Furthermore, the divergence time estimation of these three subspecies coincided with the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau. This study shows that the genetic distances between P. m. peguense and the other two subspecies are comparable to interspecific genetic distances, for example within Mauremys. Garrulax affiniswas a medium-sized bird of Timaliidae, and we got its complete mitochondrial genome by the polymerase chain reaction method (PCR). The genome (17 856 in length), it contained 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA (12S and 16S) genes, 2 tRNA genes, 2 control regions (D-loop). All protein-coding, rRNA, and tRNA genes were similar to other Passeriformes in gene arrangement and composition. In 13 PCGs, 12 were initiated with ATG, only COI was GTG, and stopped by five types of stop codons.
