Linear scleroderma is the most common type of localized scleroderma in children. Lesions rarely involve areas other than the skin, and nervous system involvement is even rare. We reported a case of a 6-year-old girl who was admitted to the hospital with recurrent seizures for 4 weeks. Before that, she had left frontal plaques for more than 1 year. Radiological imaging of the brain showed multiple abnormal lesions and skin biopsy of the plaques indicated scleroderma. After drug therapy, the girl had no recurrence of epilepsy, and no obvious abnormalities were found in the reexamination of neuroimaging. We performed further radiological examination on this patient and reviewed the literatures for this rare case.

A tanulmány célja annak vizsgálata, hogy miként hat a beszállítók és a megrendelő vállalat technológiai heterogenitása az utóbbi teljesítményére. E kérdés elemzése különösen fontos napjainkban, amikor gyors, gyakran radikális, a cégek versenyképességét növekvő mértékben befolyásoló technológiai innovációkra kerül sor. A hatást a szerzők két dimenzióban tanulmányozzák: egyrészt rövid távon az üzleti teljesítmény jól ismert mutatóival, másrészt hosszú távon a dinamikus képesség koncepciója alapján. Korábbi munkák a diverz üzleti kapcsolatok teljesítménykövetkezményeit tekintve ellentmondásos eredményekről számolnak be, ezért a szerzők az azokat befolyásoló tényezőket is górcső alá veszik. Elméleti modelljüket a strukturális egyenlőségek módszerével, magyarországi vállalati mintán tesztelik, bevonva a vizsgálatba a megrendelő vállalatok ellátásilánc-menedzsmentje által tett fejlesztési erőfeszítések mediáló, illetve hálózati képességük moderáló hatását is. Eredményeik szerint a beszállítók technológiai heterogenitása indirekt módon befolyásolja a központi cég rövid távú üzleti teljesítményét és K+F-képességét a megrendelő vállalat ellátásiláncmenedzsment-fejlesztési erőfeszítésein keresztül. A moderáló hatás elemzése egyértelműen igazolta, hogy a megrendelő fejlett hálózati képessége feltétele a heterogén beszállítói portfólió biztosította pozitív teljesítményhatásnak.

Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) is a rare neurological disorder with no clear prevalence factors and is a significant danger to the elderly. The intracranial glymphatic system is the internal environment that maintains brain survival and metabolism, and thus fluid exchange changes in the glymphatic system under various pathological conditions can provide important insights into the pathogenesis and differential diagnosis of many neurodegenerative diseases such as iNPH. iNPH can be diagnosed using a combination of clinical symptoms, imaging findings and history, and cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers due to the glymphatic system disorder. However, only few researchers have linked the two. Shunt surgery can improve the glymphatic system disorders in iNPH patients, and the surgical approach is determined using a combination of clinical diagnosis and trials. Therefore, we have composed this review to provide a future opportunity for elucidating the pathogenesis of iNPH based on the glymphatic system, and link the glymphatic system to the diagnosis and treatment of iNPH. The review will provide new insights into the medical research of iNPH.

Airway epithelial cells (AECs) play a key role in asthma susceptibility and severity. Integrin β4 (ITGB4) is a structural adhesion molecule that is down-regulated in the airway epithelium of asthma patients. Although a few studies hint toward the role of ITGB4 in asthmatic inflammation pathogenesis, their specific resultant effects remain unexplored. In the present study, we determined the role of ITGB4 of AECs in the regulation of Th2 response and identified the underpinning molecular mechanisms. We found that ITGB4 deficiency led to exaggerated lung inflammation and AHR with higher production of CCL17 in house dust mite (HDM)-treated mice. ITGB4 regulated CCL17 production in AECs through EGFR, ERK and NF-κB pathways. EFGR-antagonist treatment or the neutralization of CCL17 both inhibited exaggerated pathological marks in HDM-challenged ITGB4-deficient mice. Together, these results demonstrated the involvement of ITGB4 deficiency in the development of Th2 responses of allergic asthma by down-regulation of EGFR and CCL17 pathway in AECs.

Ezek kozul a tanulmany a kapcsolatok diadikus jellegeből fakado modszertani problemakat allitja a vizsgalat kozeppontjaba. E diadikus jellegből kovetkezően fontos, hogy elemzeseink soran az adott kapcsolatba agyazottan tudjuk merni, es igy a kapcsolatok egyedi kontextusat megtartva elemezni a jelensegeket. A tanulmany szeleskorű irodalomfeldolgozas segitsegevel erősiti meg azt a korabbi kritikat, miszerint az uzleti kapcsolatok kutatasa soran jelenleg az un. egyvegű operacionalizalas es meres a meghatarozo, az igy nyert adatokat pedig hagyomanyos matematikaistatisztikai eszkozokkel vizsgaljak a kutatok. A szakirodalomban megjelenő kritika szerint a modszertani gyakorlat nem vezet megbizhato eredmenyekre. Egy sajat kerdőives kutatas adatbazisat hasznalva a szerzők azt vizsgaljak, vajon megalapozott-e ez a velemeny. A paros lekerdezessel nyert adataikat felhasznalva egy konkret kutatasi hipotezist tesztelnek. Ennek soran a diadikus adatelemzes javasolt eszkoztarat alkalmazzak, de elemzeseket vegeznek a hagyomanyos statisztika tobb eszkozevel is. A diadikus adatelemzes elsősorban szemleleteben jelent pluszt a hagyomanyos modszerekhez kepest, az eredmenyek tekinteteben esetukben nem hozott nagy attorest.

A szerzők egy altaluk kidolgozott ismetlődő bizalomjatekot mutatnak be es vizsgalnak empirikusan. A jatek megkulonbozteti a bizalom, a bizalomra meltosag es a megbizhatosag fogalmait. A szerzők a bizalomjatek e specialis formajat hasznaltak arra, hogy teszteljek hipotezisuket, mely szerint a felek kozott kialakulo megbizhatosag a kapcsolatban zajlo esemenyek (bizalom es bizalomra meltosag) kovetkezmenyekent valtozik, alakul.

The study of business relationships poses a number of challenges. This article focuses specifically on the methodological issues arising from the dyadic nature of relations. As a consequence of the dyadic nature, it is important that throughout the analyses the phenomena can be measured as embedded in the given relation and in this way, they can be studied without losing their unique context. A common criticism of using questionnaire surveys in examining business relations is that in research, the so-called single-ended operationalising or measure is dominant, and the data thus obtained is analysed by traditional mathematical-statistical methods. According to critical opinions in the literature, this methodological practice cannot lead to reliable results. The present article uses the database of a questionnaire survey to investigate whether the former standpoint is well founded. A specific research hypothesis is tested on the data obtained from paired query. In this process, the suggested methods for dyadic data analysis are used besides analyses carried out using various measures from traditional statistics. Dyadic data analysis provides extra value primarily in its perspective; regarding the results in the present study, it has not proved to be a major breakthrough.

A number of microRNAs have been identified to be important regulators of tumorigenesis. Previous research has shown that miR-124 is abundantly expressed in normal brain tissue; however, only a few reports have focused on the biological impact of miR-124 on glioma cells, and the underlying mechanisms need to be elucidated. Therefore, we investigated the effect of miR-124a on glioma cell proliferation and invasion; furthermore, the underlying molecular mechanism was examined. The present study demonstrated that miR-124a expression was downregulated in human glioma tissues, and its expression level was negatively correlated with the pathological grade of the glioma. Restoration of miR-124a inhibited glioma cell proliferation and invasion in vitro. Furthermore, we found that miR-124a directly targeted and suppressed IQ motif containing GTPase activating protein 1 (IQGAP1), a well-known regulator of actin dynamics and cell motility. RNA interference assay showed that IQGAP1 knockdown led to downregulation of β-catenin and downstream cyclin D1. Taken together, our study revealed that miR-124a could inhibit glioma cell proliferation and invasion by blocking the expression of the IQGAP1 gene and downstream β-catenin and cyclin D1. This research may provide a useful molecular therapy for gliomas.

Remenyeik szerint ezzel segithetik, hogy minel tobb hazai vallalat kezdje el szendioxid-kibocsatasanak szisztematikus es tudomanyos alapokon nyugvo mereset. ____ Due to globalization, intense competition and the consumer society logistics processes have been intensified during the last decades. This led to increased environmental strain generating intense criticism towards logistics profession. In order to decrease the environmental burden of logistics several professionals and companies have tried to make progress in this field and introduced techniques that are capable to measure the Carbon Footprint of logistics. Still public case studies are very limited. The paper presents the case of the Hungarian subsidiary of a big multinational FMCG firm. Calculations are built on the actual conversion factor developed for the Hungarian energy mix. A complex set of key performance indi actors usable to capture key characteristics of the present situation is presented. Not only the constructs of these KPIs are described in the paper but a detailed description of methodology used to calculate them is also given. The authors hope such detailed case study description will help other companies as well to initiate sustainable logistics programs.

In the present study, 203 patients that had previously undergone microsurgery for craniopharyngiomas (CPs) between 1992 and 2012 were analyzed retrospectively on a long-term follow-up basis to investigate the differences in the recurrence rate and endocrine function between patients with preserved and resected pituitary stalks. To summarize the possible outcomes of microsurgery, the 203 patients were divided into 2 groups: Group A that had preserved pituitary stalks and Group B that had undergone resections of the pituitary stalk. Tumor origins and the involvement of the pituitary stalk during surgery were observed. From 2010 onwards, an ultra-electron microscope was used postoperatively to detect whether pituitary stalk specimens were infiltrated or invaded with tumor cells. Long-term follow-up observations of the patients included tumor recurrence, postoperative endocrine dysfunction and visual acuity and field. Among the 203 patients, 175 patients received gross-total resection (GTR) (175/203, 86.2%), 28 patients underwent subtotal resection (28/203, 13.8%) and 34 patients had surgery that preserved the pituitary stalk (34/203, 16.7%). There was no significant difference in the recurrence rate between Group A (4/34, 11.8%) and the patients in Group B (10/123, 8.1%) who underwent GTR and also received follow-ups. Of the 157 patients who were followed up, 91 individuals underwent endocrine evaluation and the outcome was divided into normal, satisfactory and poor grades. The results for Group A were 5, 18 and 0, respectively, while the results for Group B were 1, 60 and 7, respectively, which showed a statistically significant difference between the groups. Pituitary stalk specimens of 15 patients were studied postoperatively using an ultra-electron microscope and all samples showed tumor cells had invaded the pituitary stalk (15/15, 100%). Total resections of CPs with the pituitary stalk were recommended if the pituitary stalk was intraoperatively invaded. In cases where the pituitary stalk was not involved, microsurgical excisions preserving the pituitary stalk were preferred, as there was no significant increase in the recurrence rate and the patients experienced less endocrine dysfunction.

Absztrakt: Az elemzes egy, a Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem (BCE) Logisztika es Ellatasi Lanc Menedzsment Tanszeke altal vegzett kerdőives felmeres eredmenyeit foglalja ossze. A kutatas alapvető celja, hogy felmerje es bemutassa a hazai vallalatok logisztikai, ezen belul is elsősorban disztribucios logisztikai folyamatainak informatikai oldalrol tortenő jelenlegi tamogatottsagi szintjet es a kovetkező ket-harom ev e teren varhato fejlesztesi iranyait. A kutatas szisztematikusan kitert a logisztikai informacios rendszer valamennyi alrendszerere, vizsgalta a kulonboző azonositasi megoldasok elterjedtseget, a vallalatiranyitasi rendszer, illetve egyes moduljainak hasznalataval kapcsolatban kialakult gyakorlatot, de a logisztika strategiai donteseinek informatikai tamogatottsagat es a hasznalt kommunikacios technikakat is. Osszessegeben megallapithatjuk, hogy a logisztikai informacios rendszerek fejlettsegi szintje ma Magyarorszagon kozepesnek mondhato, fontos megjegyezni azonban, hogy a KKV szektor e teren is jelentős lemaradassal rendelkezik. Ez termeszetesen azt is jelent, hogy az informatikai eszkozok alkalmazasanak kiterjesztesevel meg jelentős teljesitmenyjavulas erhető el. ----- Abstract: The essay summarizes the results of a survey carried out by Corvinus University of Budapest, Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Aim of the survey was to analyze and describe the actual Hungarian company practice regarding the IT support of logistics – and particularly distribution – processes, and the plans of developing it within the next 2-3 years. Survey has systematically covered all fields of logistics information system, analyzed the prevalence of different identification techniques and systems. On the whole we appoint that logistics information systems applied by Hungarian companies are on satisfactory level; however it is important to tell that SME companies are in huge lag. This means that improving logistics information system hides the possibility of considerable performance development.

A szerző kutatási célja, hogy megvizsgálja, vajon a hazai vállalatok mai gyakorlatában a fejlettebb logisztikai képességek együtt járnak-e magasabb teljesítménnyel. Az elemzés a Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem Vállalat-gazdaságtan Intézete mellett működő Versenyképesség Kutató Központ vállalati versenyképességet vizsgáló kérdőíves felmérés immár 4. fordulójának adatbázisát használja, melyet 2009 folyamán összesen 300 vállalat vezetőinek megkérdezésével hoztak létre. Ennek az adatbázisnak a felhasználásával a cikk két kérdésre keresi a választ. A szerző egyrészt megvizsgálja, vajon a mintában kimutatható-e egy fejlettebb logisztikai képességekkel rendelkező vállalatcsoport. Másrészt arra is kíváncsi, vajon ezek a fejlettebb logisztikai képességek együtt járnak-e a vállalatok magasabb teljesítményével. A 2009-es adatok elemzése igazolta, hogy logisztikai képességekben két szignifikánsan eltérő fejlettségű vállalatcsoport létét. Az eredményekből az is kiolvasható, hogy a magasabb logisztikai képességek a mintában együtt jártak a magasabb működési teljesítménnyel is. _________________ The overall objective of the paper is to investigate the relationship between logistics capabilities and company’s performance. Empirical analysis is carried out based on an extensive questionnaire developed and conducted at the Competitive Research Center at the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2009. Using this database the author had two separate research questions: Can she detect companies in their sample with significantly different logistics capabilities. If yes, does more developed logistics lead to higher level performance at the company level? After carrying out their empirical analysis they could state, that they could prove the existence of two clusters, one with less and another with more developed logistics capabilities. They also were able to show that firms with more developed logistics can achieve significantly higher operational performance and can be characterized with a more developed customer orientation.

A cikk a hazai ellátási láncok alapegységének, az üzleti kapcsolatoknak a beágyazottságát vizsgálja. A vállalatok közötti üzleti kapcsolatok sokféle jellemzője közül kiemelt jelentőségű azok stabilitása, ami közvetlenül függ a kapcsolatok beágyazottságának fokától. Az üzleti kapcsolat beágyazottságára hatást gyakorol az együttműködő felek közötti kötelékek három típusa (Håkansson – Snehota [szerk.], 1995): a megrendelő-beszállító közötti (i) tevékenység, (ii) szociális és (iii) erőforrás-kötelékek erőssége, intenzitása. A szerzők kutatásának hipotézise szerint e kötelékek erősségét, és ezen keresztül a kapcsolat beágyazottságának mértékét befolyásolja az, hogy milyen a felek közötti csere tárgyát képező termék- és szolgáltatáscsomag komplexitása. Tanulmányuk a Budapesti Corvinus Egyetem Versenyképesség Kutató Központjának „Kis- és középvállalatok beszállítói pozíciói” című kutatási programja (2007–2008) keretében készült kérdőíves felmérés kiemelt eredményeit mutatja be. Az elemzés magában foglalja az üzleti kapcsolatok számára releváns különböző köteléktípusok jellemzőinek bemutatását, a csere tárgyát meghatározó vevői elváráscsomagok, illetve azok leképeződéseként kialakuló tipikus termék- és szolgáltatáscsomagok ismertetését, végül annak bemutatását, hogy azok miképpen hatnak az üzleti kapcsolatok beágyazottságára. ________________ The focal question of this research is how heavy Hungarian business relationships are, and what specific characteristics this relationships have. Business relationship heaviness is one of the most important relationship features because substantially influences the stability of the relationship itself. The authors argue that the level of buyer-supplier relationship heaviness is determined by activity ties, social bonds and resource links (Håkansson – Snehota ed., 1995) and influenced by the complexity of the exchange object relevant for a specific relationship. The paper presents the results of an online survey carried out among Hungarian companies at the Competitive Research Centre of the Corvinus University of Budapest. The authors’ analysis examines the effect of the exchanged product and service package on relational ties and relationship heaviness.

A cikk központi kérdése a vállalati versenyképesség. Két meghatározó menedzsmentmegközelítés – a vevői érték és az erőforrás-, képességalapú stratégiai menedzsment – fogalmi rendszerére, illetve koncepcióira alapozva a szerzők kialakítottak és a "Versenyben a világgal 2004–2006 – gazdasági versenyképességünk vállalati nézőpontból" című kutatás adatbázisát használva teszteltek egy a vállalati versenyképesség belső struktúrájára rávilágító elméleti modellt. A modell empirikus tesztelésének eredménye szerint a kialakított koncepció a vállalati versenyképesség elemzésének hasznos eszköze, mely alkalmas arra, hogy a vizsgált vállalatok esetében igazolja, vagy éppen megcáfolja a meghatározott, ún. összehangolt kompetenciák meglétét. ________The main issue of this article is the competitiveness of firms. Based on conceptual system and concepts of two determinant management approaches – the customer value and the resource and capability based strategic management – the authors have developed and tested a theoretical model of the inside structure of the competitiveness of firms using the database of Competing with the World 2004-2006 – the competitiveness of the Hungarian economy from enterprise point of view. According to the result of the empiric test of the model the developed concept has been a profitable tool of the analysis of the enterprise competitiveness and it has been suited for confirming or confuting determinated so called aligned competencies being in the case of examined firms.

A nemzetközi, elsősorban európai szervezettudományban mára meghatározóvá vált a kritikai megközelítés, a hazai szakirodalomban mégis elvétve találni rá utalásokat. A szerzők írásukban tárgyalják, hogy a kritikai menedzsmentelméletek (KME) szemszögéből miként bírálható a mindenkori szervezeti gyakorlat, és miért bírálandók a főáramú menedzsmentelméletek. A tanulmány fő részében elméleti megkülönböztetéseket tesznek: egyrészt elhatárolják a kritikai megközelítést a főáramú szervezetelméletektől, másrészt több szempontból is különbséget tesznek a különféle – de egyaránt a KME alá tartozó – kritikai megközelítések között. De a kritikai szemlélethez hűen nem csak a puszta elméletismertetés volt a céljuk: e bevezetés és problémafelvető tanulmány – s a későbbiekben tervezett cikksorozat – szándékuk szerint vitaindítóként is szolgál. Abban bíznak, hogy a felvetett kérdésekről valódi, lényegi párbeszédet generálhatnak a hazai menedzsmenttudományban (kutatók, oktatók és elméletalkalmazók körében), mely kihathat a szervezeti gyakorlatra is. _____ Critical Management Studies (CMS) as a field of organization studies (OS) has become central internationally, and especially in Europe. Yet, its appearance is still very rare in the Hungarian OS literature. In this study first the authors discuss how the nowadays dominant organizational practices along with the mainstream management and organization theories are to be criticized from a Critical Management perspective. In the main section, so as to define CMS, they make important theoretical distinctions, first between CMS and mainstream organization theories (in general), and then among the different critical approaches that nevertheless all fall under the broad CMS umbrella. But, in line with a truly critical attitude, they not only go into theoretical discussions but, at least to their intention, the purpose of this introductory paper is also to addresses important problems both in the theory and the practice of organization and management. Therefore, it could serve as an opening of an important debate or dialogue in the Hungarian academic community (researchers, educators and other professionals), a theoretical discussion that could have real influence on organizational practice too.

Focusing on ferroelectric nanofilm systems, a three-dimensional model is established utilizing phase field simulation method to simulate the stability of several domain structures and their evolution behaviors under mechanical loads. It is revealed that bending loads, surface flexoelectric field, temperature and thickness of film can sufficiently control the stability and evolution path of domains structure of PbZr0.2Ti0.8O3 film with thickness of 10 nm level. Although films with thickness of 16 nm have more complicated domain structures than films of 8 nm, they both show regulation effect on domains under wavy bending. With the rising of temperature and presence of surface flexoelectric field, the domain evolution behaviors become more controllable and the evolution process is beneficial to the formation of the c - -domain. When temperature is 600 K under conditions with surface flexelectric field, areas with the maximum strain gradient on the films can be evolved into single domain state, which makes mechanical erasure feasible. There is also a nonlinear relationship between the bending amplitude of the film and the reversal of c-domain, leading to an easier formation of c - -domain as the amplitude increasing. To further explore the mechanical erasure, we give a simulation on cylindrical bending. In the comparison of the wavy and cylindrical bending, the influence of the orientation of flexoelectric field on the mechanical erasure is clarified. Cylindrical bending can achieve complete erasure of the domain information due to its only direction of flexelectric field. The research on the mechanical erasing is of significance for the development of flexible ferroelectric electronic devices in nanoscale.
