Aims: To determine ultrasound therapy as an effective adjuvant for the management of myofascial pain involving masticatory muscles. Study Design: Randomized clinical trial study. Place and Duration of Study: Department of oral medicine and radiology, Narayana dental college and hospital between March 2021 to November 2022. Methodology: We included 30 patients (20 females and 10 males; age group >18 years) clinically diagnosed with Myofascial pain who were randomly assigned into two groups each comprising of 15 patients. Group A patients received ultrasound therapy along with tizanidine 2mg twice a day for 14 days while group B patients received tizanidine alone. All the patients were evaluated for maximum inter-incisal distance, tenderness of muscles of mastication on palpation, pain while chewing, and pain during mandibular movements at baseline, 7th and 14th day. Results: A significant pain reduction and improvement in mouth opening was found in both the groups. However, patients who received both tizanidine and ultrasound therapy had greater relief compared to other group from 7th day to 14th day and the results were statistically significant. Conclusion: No side effects were observed in Group A during or after ultrasound therapy. As it is a non-invasive therapeutic modality and offers good patient compliance, ultrasound therapy can be used as an effective therapeutic adjuvant for the management of myofascial pain.

Alzheimer's Disease is a complex progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by neurofibrillary tangles and senile plaques in various parts of the brain particularly cerebral cortex affecting memory and cognition. Nuclear receptors such as Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ [PPAR-γ] is reported to have a role in lipid and glucose homeostasis in the brain, reduces the synthesis of Aβ (beta-amyloid plaques) and also regulates mitochondrial biogenesis and inhibit the neuro-inflammation, which contributes for the improvement in the cognitive function in AD. Hence PPAR-γ is one of the newer targets for the researchers to understand the pathology of AD and to evolve the novel strategy to retard/reverse the progression of AD. PPAR-γ agonists such as Rosiglitazone and Pioglitazone have shown promising results in AD by decreasing neuro-inflammation and restoring glucose dysmetabolism leading to a reduction in neuronal deterioration. These agonists possess poor blood-brain permeability and are poor candidates for clinical use in AD. Therefore, search, design, and development for new PPAR- γ agonists with improved BBB penetration ability are imperative. The present work deals with the use of computational tools and techniques such as molecular docking, molecular dynamics to discover PPAR-γ agonists from the unexplored Seaweed Metabolite Database and predicts it's toxicological and physiochemical profile, thereby saving time and resources. Out of 1,110 seaweed compounds, the hit molecule BS052 displayed a strong binding affinity towards PPAR-γ, which possessed better lipid solubility indicating the potential to be considered as a PPAR-γ agonist, which may be useful in the management of AD.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Echinococcal cysts are usually found in the liver and lungs, but can affect any part of the body. Differential diagnosis of hydatid disease should be considered for every cystic mass in any anatomical location, especially in areas where the disease is endemic. Hydatid disease has a worldwide distribution and causes health problems in endemic countries. Here, we are presenting a case of cerebral hydatid cyst in a 7-year-old female child. The main aim of this case is to highlight the rarity of this location and that hydatid cysts must be considered as differential diagnosis in patients with cystic lesions of brain, especially in endemic areas.

Purpose: Proper care must be taken even for a clean wound in normal body to heal earlier with a minimum scar. Various scientific and technological advancement taking place from time to time the problem wound healing is still under evolution process, till now there are many research works have been undertaken on Chronic wounds. As Dustavrana is vitiated by various doshas so it needs proper care in proper time. Hence in present concept all efforts are directed to keep the wound clean and also to enhance the wound healing. To manage the Dustavrana different type of treatment modalities explained in the classics, Bala Taila is one among them. Objective of study: To assess the effectiveness of BalaTaila Application in wound healing. To assess the healing of wound (Vrana ropana). Method: 30 patients were selected according to inclusion criteria and divided into two groups of 15 each. Viz Group I: Trail group, were treated by Bala Taila local application once daily & Group II: Control group, were treated by the application of Hydrogen Peroxyde, sterile dry gauze were used for dressing. Result: Results were assessed with the help of prefixed assessment criteria, and favorable results obtained on, Vedana as 85%, Swelling 80%, Varna 84.44%, Srava 82.92% Granulation 86.66% and size of wound 79.41%. The result of Bala Taila is found to be statically significant in the process of wound healing Conclusion: The Bala Taila proves a vital role in the healing of Dustavrana.
