A new asterosaponin aphelasteroside F (1) was isolated from the ethanolic extract of the Far Eastern starfish Aphelasterias japonica along with the previously known ophidianoside F (2). The structure of 1 was elucidated by extensive use of NMR and ESI-MS techniques, and chemical transformations. Compound 1 contains a new type of asterosaponin carbohydrate chain linked to C-6 of the steroid aglycone aphelaketotriol. Compounds 1 and 2 at non-toxic concentrations slightly inhibited cell proliferation and colony formation of the cancer melanoma cell lines SK-Mel-28, SK-Mel-5, and RPMI-7951.

This paper focuses on the performance analysis of aeronautical satellite baseband link including Aircraft Transmitter, Uplink (AWGN channel), Satellite Transponder, Downlink (AWGN channel), and Ground Earth Station (GES) Receiver. Impact of a modulation type (BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, 16QAM), Eb/N0, satellite transponder amplifier gain without and with coding on Binary Error Rate (BER) was investigated. Досліджено вплив коефіцієнта підсилення супутникового транспондера без завадостійкого кодування та з ним на коефіцієнт двійкових помилок BER типу модуляції (BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, 16QAM), співвідношення Eb/N0. Показано ефективність кодування при передачі повідомлень по каналу «літак–супутник–Земля», що досліджувалася з використанням лінійних блочних кодів Хеммінга., Проведен анализ работы авиационного спутникового канала связи, включающего бортовой передатчик, AWGN канал наверх, спутниковый транспондер, AWGN канал вниз и приѐмник наземной станции. Исследовано влияние коэффициента усиления спутникового транспондера без помехоустойчивого кодирования и с ним на коэффициент двоичных ошибок BER типа модуляции (BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, 16QAM), соотношения Eb/N0. Показана эффективность кодирования при передаче сообщений по каналу «самолёт–спутник–Земля», исследованная с использованием линейных блочных кодов Хемминга.

Introduction. Invaluable from the point of view of personal military experience, comprehension of the phenomenon of war by the participants themselves is documentary literature, such as the texts of G. Kharchenko «Diary of an Artilleryman», R. Zinenko «Illovaysk Diary», V. Chernienko «Diary of a Military Doctor», etc., the last one was the most emotionally expressive. Relevance and purpose of the study. Undoubtedly, war literature, documentary, journalism are now being actively studied in scientific circles from the standpoint of chronicles of events, interest in the author’s personality, his reactions to events, in general, understanding the phenomenon of war between the «fraternal peoples». Our attention is drawn to the axiological and psychological aspects of the study of the documentary text about the war, hence the purpose: to identify the emotional component in such diaries, to classify emotions, emotional states of the author, characters and reader, to determine their correlation with the subjective psychotype of the author, as well as to describe the ways of representing emotionality in the text. Research methods. The study of emotions and emotional states, their allocation in the diaries was carried out on the basis of the content analysis of the text, the allocation of emotions and emotional states named by the author, the use of general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, as well as the structural method to highlight the emergence of psychological states and emotions, their stages of formation, influence on the features of the narration in the diary etc. Conclusions. The genre of the diary allows illustrating self-reflection and specifically reflect personal emotions, the author to be as frank as possible with himself (in the studied test also through confession and sleep), and at the same time show an emotional slice of the social experience of war related to professional and civic duties. The analyzed diary shows that in the course of acquiring their own experience of war, the participant/witness experiences the entire emotional paradigm of both primary (anger, disgust, despair, fear, distress, guilt, interest, joy, love, surprise) and secondary emotions, and secondary emotions (emotions in the course of human socialization), named and unnamed, dominant explicated binary emotions (interest-excitement, disgust-aversion-rejection, alertness-expectation-interest), etc.Existential states reflected in the diary, firstly, reflect the emotional image of the author as fully as possible, demonstrate the highest degree of emotionality of the author’s «I»; and secondly, help reflect also the processes of auto-communication and overcoming the distance in communication with the reader, have a powerful influential potential through frankness, openness. The text highlights flashbacks and triggers, which are often a trigger or a certain stage in the experience of emotions and emotional states. In order to avoid psychological trauma, addiction to the psychological state of shock, the author sublimates in the diary, in particular, in the experiences of positive emotions of childhood, love for his father, beauty, admiration for a little girl and dreams of his own children, and therefore – hope for salvation, survival. The emotions and emotional states highlighted in the diary clearly demonstrate the motivation of the activities of servicemen and ordinary Ukrainians in the occupied territories in extreme conditions, as well as have an informational and psychological impact on mass communication in Ukrainian society.

The topology is presented and the electrodynamic characteristics of the linear polarization antenna in the form of two planar partially intersecting circular disks are considered. Each of these discs has a hole in the centre, and in the area of their intersection there is a narrow longitudinal rectangular slot whose axis is oriented in the direction of the centres of the holes. Results of numerical simulation of the characteristics of such an antenna are presented, discussed and compared. Broadband properties of this antenna are explained by the presence in its design of two broad partially crossed planar rings and a relatively short narrow slot, which is excited in the region of their intersection. This feature provides a sufficiently wide band of operating frequencies, both in directivity characteristics and in input impedance. In this case, the antenna has an input resistance about 50 ... 60 Ohm, which can be adjusted by changing the width of the slot and rings. For comparison, similar characteristics of small-size low-directional antennas, such as vertical monopole, slot half-wave antennas and a zigzag antenna (the Kharchenko antenna or the "Z-antenna") are also considered in this paper. It is shown that the antenna under consideration possesses, in comparison with them, improved frequency properties, both in matching at the input and in the directivity. Along with broadband, the advantages of such an antenna are: an increased value of the directivity as compared to the monopole and dipole wire structures, and also a simple manufacturing technology that gives a certain benefit in mass production.

Basic chromosomal proteins were purified from spermatozoa of the European pond turtle, Emys orbicularis. They were partially characterized and classified as type 1 protamines according to the definition of Bloch ([1969] Genetics suppl., 61:93–111; [1976] In: Handbook of Genetics. R.C. King, ed. Plenum Press, New York, Vol. 5, pp. 139–167). Contrary to a previous report (Kharchenko et al., [1980] Biochemistry [Engl. Transl. Biokhimiya], 45:1239–1246), these proteins could also be isolated from Emys testis, but only during certain periods of the male seasonal reproductive cycle. The proteins migrated during gel electrophoresis similarly to the protamines that have been observed for lizards and snakes, members of a different reptile order (Kasinsky et al., [1978] J. Exp. Zool., 203:109–126). These results extend the observation that protamine type is conserved among reptile species and provide a partial characterization of the conserved proteins. They support the conclusion that an important step in the evolution of vertebrate protamines occurs with reptiles. They draw into question, however, hypotheses that have been offered to explain the mechanism bringing about this protein conservation.
