Background: Although androgen deprivation therapy is initially effective in controlling growth of hormone-naive prostate cancers (HNPCs) in patients, currently incurable castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) inevitably develops., Objective: To identify CRPC driver genes that may provide new targets to enhance CRPC therapy., Design, Setting, and Participants: Patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) of HNPCs that develop CRPC following host castration were examined for changes in expression of genes at various time points after castration using transcriptome profiling analysis; particular attention was given to pre-CRPC changes in expression indicative of genes acting as potential CRPC drivers., Outcome Measurements and Statistical Analysis: The functionality of a potential CRPC driver was validated via its knockdown in cultured prostate cancer cells; its clinical relevance was established using data from prostate cancer patient databases., Results and Limitations: Eighty genes were found to be significantly upregulated at the CRPC stage, while seven of them also showed elevated expression prior to CRPC development. Among the latter, growth factor receptor bound protein 10 (GRB10) was the most significantly and consistently upregulated gene. Moreover, elevated GRB10 expression in clinical prostate cancer samples correlated with more aggressive tumor types and poorer patient treatment outcome. GRB10 knockdown markedly reduced prostate cancer cell proliferation and activity of AKT, a well-established CRPC mediator. A positive correlation between AKT activity and GRB10 expression was also found in clinical cohorts., Conclusions: GRB10 acts as a driver of CRPC and sensitizes androgen receptor pathway inhibitors, and hence GRB10 targeting provides a novel therapeutic strategy for the disease., Patient Summary: Development of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) is a major problem in the management of the disease. Xinyang tablet (XYT) has been used for heart failure (HF) for over twenty years in clinical practice, but the underlying molecular mechanism remains poorly understood. In the present study, we aimed to explore the protective effects of XYT in HF in vivo and in vitro. Transverse aortic constriction was performed in vivo to establish a mouse model of cardiac pressure overload. Echocardiography, tissue staining, and real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) were examined to evaluate the protective effects of XYT on cardiac function and structure. Adenosine 5′-triphosphate production, reactive oxygen species staining, and measurement of malondialdehyde and superoxide dismutase was used to detect mitochondrial damage. Mitochondrial ultrastructure was observed by transmission electron microscope. Immunofluorescence staining, qPCR, and Western blotting were performed to evaluate the effect of XYT on the mitochondrial unfolded protein response and mitophagy, and to identify its potential pharmacological mechanism. In vitro , HL-1 cells and neonatal mouse cardiomyocytes were stimulated with Angiotensin II to establish the cell model. Western blotting, qPCR, immunofluorescence staining, and flow cytometry were utilized to determine the effects of XYT on cardiomyocytes. HL-1 cells overexpressing receptor-interacting serum/three-protein kinase 3 (RIPK3) were generated by transfection of RIPK3-overexpressing lentiviral vectors. Cells were then co-treated with XYT to determine the molecular mechanisms. In the present study, XYT was found to exerta protective effect on cardiac function and structure in the pressure overload mice. And it was also found XYT reduced mitochondrial damage by enhancing mitochondrial unfolded protein response and restoring mitophagy. Further studies showed that XYT achieved its cardioprotective role through regulating the RIPK3/FUN14 domain containing 1 (FUNDC1) signaling. Moreover, the overexpression of RIPK3 successfully reversed the XYT-induced protective effects and significantly attenuated the positive effects on the mitochondrial unfolded protein response and mitophagy. Our findings indicated that XYT prevented pressure overload-induced HF through regulating the RIPK3/FUNDC1-mediated mitochondrial unfolded protein response and mitophagy. The information gained from this study provides a potential strategy for attenuating mitochondrial damage in the context of pressure overload-induced heart failure using XYT. Brain metastasis (BM) is a major complication of lung adenocarcinoma (LAD). An investigation of the pathogenic mechanisms of BM, as well as the identification of appropriate molecular markers, is necessary. The aim of this study was to determine the expression patterns of microRNAs (miRNAs) in LAD with BM, and to investigate the biological role of these miRNAs during tumorigenesis. miRNA array profiles were used to identify BM-associated miRNAs. These miRNAs were independently validated in 155 LAD patients. Several in vivo and in vitro assays were performed to verify the effects of miRNAs on BM. We identified six miRNAs differentially expressed in patients with BM as compared to patients with BM. Of these, miR-4270 and miR-423-3p were further investigated. miR-4270 and miR-423-3p directly targeted MMP19 and P21, respectively, to influence cell viability, migration, and colony formation in vitro. miR-4270 downregulation and miR-423-3p upregulation was associated with an increased risk of BM in LAD patients. Thus, our results suggested that miR-4270 and miR-423-3p might play an important role in BM pathogenesis in LAD patients, and that these miRNAs might be useful prognostic and clinical treatment targets. Amyloid-β (Aβ), the major component of neuritic plaques in Alzheimer’s disease (AD), is derived from sequential proteolytic cleavage of amyloid protein precursor (APP) by secretases. In this study, we found that cystatin C (CysC), a natural cysteine protease inhibitor, is able to reduce Aβ40 secretion in human brain microvascular endothelial cells (HBMEC). The CysC-induced Aβ40 reduction was caused by degradation of β-secretase BACE1 through the ubiquitin/proteasome pathway. In contrast, we found that CysC promoted secretion of soluble APPα indicating the activated non-amyloidogenic processing of APP in HBMEC. Further results revealed that α-secretase ADAM10, which was transcriptionally upregulated in response to CysC, was required for the CysC-induced sAPPα secretion. Knockdown of SIRT1 abolished CysC-triggered ADAM10 upregulation and sAPPα production. Taken together, our results demonstrated that exogenously applied CysC can direct amyloidogenic APP processing to non-amyloidgenic pathway in brain endothelial cells, mediated by proteasomal degradation of BACE1 and SIRT1-mediated ADAM10 upregulation. Abstract: M3 muscarinic receptors are localized on inflammatory cells, airway smooth muscle, and submucosal glands, known to mediate bronchoconstriction, mucus secretion, and airway remodeling. It is hypothesized bencycloquidium bromide (BCQB), a novel M3 receptor antagonist, might have potential effects on airway hyperresponsiveness, inflammation and airway remodeling in a murine model of asthma. Mice sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin developed airway inflammation. Bronchoalveolar lavage fluid was examined to determine the total and differential cell counts, and cytokine levels. Lung tissues were evaluated for cell infiltration, mucus hypersecretion, airway remodeling, and the expression of inflammatory biomarkers. Airway hyperresponsiveness was monitored by direct airway resistance analysis. Inhalation administration of BCQB significantly not only reduced ovalbumin-induced airway hyperresponsiveness comparing to methacholine, and prevented the ovalbumin-induced increase in total cell counts and eosinophil counts. Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction analysis of whole lung lysates revealed that BCQB markedly suppressed ovalbumin-induced mRNA expression of eotaxin, IL-5, IL-4 and MMP-9, and increased mRNA expression of IFN-γ and TIMP-1 in a dose-dependent manner. Substantial IFN-γ/IL-4 (Th1/Th2) levels were recovered in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid after BCQB treatment. In addition, histological studies showed that BCQB dramatically inhibited ovalbumin-induced lung tissue eosinophil infiltration, airway mucus production and collagen deposition in lung tissues. Results reported in current paper suggest that M3 receptors antagonist may provide a novel therapeutic approach to treat airway inflammation, hyperresponsiveness and remodeling. Bacterial wilt is a common disease that causes severe yield and quality losses in many plants. In the present study, we used the model Ralstonia solanacearum-Arabidopsis thaliana pathosystem to study transcriptional changes associated with wilt disease development. Susceptible Col-5 plants and RRS1-R-containing resistant Nd-1 plants were root-inoculated with R. solanacearum strains harbouring or lacking the matching PopP2 avirulence gene. Gene expression was marginally affected in leaves during the early stages of infection. Major changes in transcript levels took place between 4 and 5 days after pathogen inoculation, at the onset of appearance of wilt symptoms. Up-regulated genes in diseased plants included ABA-, senescence- and basal resistance-associated genes. The influence of the plant genetic background on disease-associated gene expression is weak although some genes appeared to be specifically up-regulated in Nd-1 plants. Inactivation of some disease-associated genes led to alterations in the plant responses to a virulent strain of the pathogen. In contrast to other pathosystems, very little overlap in gene expression was detected between the early phases of the resistance response and the late stages of disease development. This observation may be explained by the fact that above-ground tissues were sampled for profiling whereas the bacteria were applied to root tissues. This exhaustive analysis of Arabidopsis genes whose expression is modulated during bacterial wilt development paves the way for dissecting plant networks activated by recognition of R. solanacearum effectors in susceptible plants. Abstract: ZNF191, a new human zinc finger protein, probably relates to some hereditary diseases and cancers. To obtain structural information of zinc finger domain a convenient method for obtaining milligram quantities of each zinc finger peptide of ZNF191 is necessary. Here, we report an Escherichia coli expression system for rapid and high-level expression of zinc finger 3 and zinc finger 4 of ZNF191. The gene of zinc finger 3 or zinc finger 4 was cloned into pET31b vector to allow expression of single zinc finger peptide as a ketosteroid isomerase (KSI) fusion protein. The KSI–single zinc finger fusion protein was overexpressed in the form of inclusion body, which can be purified by washing several times using buffer solutions, and then be cleaved directly by cyanogen bromide to release single zinc finger peptide. The more than 20mg/L yield of single zinc finger peptide was achieved with more than 95% purity by using YM ultrafiltration membranes. Circular dichroism spectra of these two single zinc finger peptides titrated with Zn2+ ions demonstrate that they have different secondary structures. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Background: Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma (PeM) is a rare and fatal cancer that originates from the peritoneal lining of the abdomen. Standard treatment of PeM is limited to cytoreductive surgery and/or chemotherapy, and no effective targeted therapies for PeM exist. Some immune checkpoint inhibitor studies of mesothelioma have found positivity to be associated with a worse prognosis. Methods: To search for novel therapeutic targets for PeM, we performed a comprehensive integrative multi-omics analysis of the genome, transcriptome, and proteome of 19 treatment-naïve PeM, and in particular, we examined BAP1 mutation and copy number status and its relationship to immune checkpoint inhibitor activation. Results: We found that PeM could be divided into tumors with an inflammatory tumor microenvironment and those without and that this distinction correlated with haploinsufficiency of BAP1. To further investigate the role of BAP1, we used our recently developed cancer driver gene prioritization algorithm, HIT'nDRIVE, and observed that PeM with BAP1 haploinsufficiency form a distinct molecular subtype characterized by distinct gene expression patterns of chromatin remodeling, DNA repair pathways, and immune checkpoint receptor activation. We demonstrate that this subtype is correlated with an inflammatory tumor microenvironment and thus is a candidate for immune checkpoint blockade therapies. Conclusions: Our findings reveal BAP1 to be a potential, easily trackable prognostic and predictive biomarker for PeM immunotherapy that refines PeM disease classification. BAP1 stratification may improve drug response rates in ongoing phases I and II clinical trials exploring the use of immune checkpoint blockade therapies in PeM in which BAP1 status is not considered. In this study, we investigated the antioxidant and protective effect of Lindera glauca stem (LGS) extracts against oxidative stress. We compared antioxidant properties of water extract (LGSW) with ethanol extract (LGSE) by determining the contents responsible for antioxidant activities such as polyphenols and flavonoids. Antioxidant properties were also determined by 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging activity and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP). Lipid peroxidation was estimated using ferric thiocyanate (FTC) and thiobarbituric acid (TBA) method. Both LGSW and LGSE strongly inhibited lipid peroxidation. Especially, LGSE showed a protective effect through increasing cell viability, decreasing intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) against tert-butyl hydroperoxide-induced oxidative stress in Chang cells. Furthermore, LGSE increased antioxidant related enzyme activities such as catalase, glutathione S-transferase, glutathione peroxidase, and superoxide dismutase gene expression against oxidative stress in a zebrafish model. Our previous study implied the role of central high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced depressive-like behaviors that could partially abrogate by glycyrrhizic acid (GZA). Here, we considered the potential mechanism underlying GZA ameliorating chronic stress-induced depression both in vivo and in vitro. Depression model was established with the 4-week chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) mice. Sucrose preference test, tail suspension test and open field test were performed to reflect depressive-like behaviors. Enzyme activity of indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) was recorded with the ratio of kynurenine (KYN) / tryptophan (Trp). Transcription of gene was evaluated by RT-PCR. Along with depressive-like behaviors, IDO, the rate-limiting enzyme of the kynurenine pathway (KP), was upregulated at the level of mRNA expression, and enzyme activity was also elevated in stressed hippocampi and LPS/HMGB1-treated hippocampus slices. Treatment of mice with GZA, the inhibitor of HMGB1, prevented the activated enzymes in KP and the development of depressive-like behaviors. These experiments demonstrate that GZA may restrain HMGB1 thus improving chronic stress-induced depressive behavior through regulating KP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Eight undescribed lanostane triterpenoids, physivitrins A–H, along with four known analogues, were isolated from cultures of the fungus Physisporinus vitreus. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic methods, in which the absolute configuration of physivitrin A was elucidated using electronic circular dichroism calculation and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) calculation with DP4+ analysis. Physivitrins B and C showed inhibitory activities against nitric oxide (NO) production in LPS-activated RAW264.7 macrophages with IC 50 values of 7.5 and 23.5 μM, respectively. Meanwhile, proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α , iNOS and IL-1β) mRNA expression was also inhibited by physivitrin B significantly. • Formation of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) emerges as a critical pathological mechanism influencing the long-term outcomes of Myocardial Infarction (MI). • In the absence of therapeutic intervention, NETs accumulation within the cardiovascular system persists post-MI, indicating a sustained pathophysiological impact. • Targeted inhibition of NETs formation presents a potential therapeutic strategy to mitigate long-term structural and functional cardiac anomalies post-MI. • Through comprehensive molecular analysis, key genes such as FOS, EGR1, PTGS2, and HIST1H4H have been identified as biomarkers, offering predictive insights into the long-term prognostic landscape of MI as influenced by NETs dynamics. The study focuses on the long-term prognosis of myocardial infarction (MI) influenced by neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). It also aims to analyze and validate relative hub genes in this process, in order to further explore new therapeutic targets that can improve the prognosis of MI. We established a MI model in mice by ligating the left anterior descending branch (LAD) and conducted an 8-week continuous observation to study the dynamic changes in the structure and function of the heart in these mice. Meanwhile, we administered Apocynin, an inhibitor of NADPH Oxidase, which has also been shown to inhibit the formation of NETs, to mice undergoing MI surgery in order to compare. This study employed hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, echocardiography, immunofluorescence, and real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) to examine the impact of NETs on the long-term prognosis of MI. Next, datasets related to MI and NETs were downloaded from the GEO database, respectively. The Limma package of R software was used to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs). After analyzing the "Robust Rank Aggregation (RRA)" package, we conducted a screening for robust differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and performed pathway enrichment analysis using Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) to determine the functional roles of these robust DEGs. The protein–protein interaction (PPI) network was visualized and hub genes were filtered using Cytoscape. Immunofluorescence and qPCR results showed an increase in the expression of Myeloperoxidase (MPO) at week 1 and week 8 in the hearts of mice after MI. HE staining reveals a series of pathological manifestations in the heart of the MI group during 8 weeks, including enlarged size, disordered arrangement of cardiomyocytes, infiltration of inflammatory cells, and excessive deposition of collagen fibers, among others. The utilization of Apocynin could significantly improve these poor performances. The echocardiography displayed the cardiac function of the heart in mice. The MI group has a reduced range of heart movement and decreased ejection ability. Moreover, the ventricular systolic movement was found to be abnormal, and its wall thickening rate decreased over time, indicating a progressive worsening of myocardial ischemia. The Apocynin group, on the contrary, showed fewer abnormal changes in the aforementioned aspects. A total of 81 DEGs and 4 hub genes (FOS, EGR1, PTGS2, and HIST1H4H) were obtained. The results of RT-qPCR demonstrated abnormal expression of these four genes in the MI group, which could be reversed by treatment of Apocynin. The NETs formation could be highly related to MI and the long-term prognosis of MI can be significantly influenced by the NETs formation. Four hub genes, namely FOS, EGR1, PTGS2, and HIST1H4H, have the potential to be key genes related to this process. Abstract: A lipase gene (Lip) of the Aspergillus niger was de novo synthesized and expressed in the Trichoderma reesei under the promoter of the cellobiohydrolase I gene (cbh1). RNAi-mediated gene silencing was successfully used to further improve the recombinant lipase production via down-regulation of CBHI which comprised more than 60% of the total extracellular proteins in T. reesei. The gene and protein expression of CBHI and recombinant lipase were analyzed by real-time PCR, SDS–PAGE and activity assay. The results demonstrated that RNAi-mediated gene silencing could effectively suppress cbh1 gene expression and the reduction of CBHI could result in obvious improvement of heterologous lipase production. The reconstructed strains with decreased CBHI production exhibited 1.8- to 3.2-fold increase in lipase activity than that of parental strain. The study herein provided a feasible and advantageous method of increasing heterologous target gene expression in T. reesei through preventing the high expression of a specific endogenenous gene by RNA interference. Inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) therapy in combination with long-acting β-adrenergic agonists (LABA) is the most important treatment for allergic asthma, although the mechanism still remains unclear. However, mast cells play a central role in the pathogenesis of asthma. In this study, we explored the sole or synergetic effects of des-ciclesonide (ICS) and formoterol (LABA) on the cytokines IL-4 and IL-13 and on histamine release from mast cells (RBL-2H3 cells). We found that des-ciclesonide (0.1, 1 and 10 nM) and formoterol (0.1, 1 and 10 μM) alone attenuated DNP–BSA-induced IL-4 and IL-13 production, respectively, in a concentration-dependent manner in DNP-IgE-sensitized mast cells. Des-ciclesonide (0.2 nM) and formoterol (1 μM) alone also reduced histamine production. However, the combination of des-ciclesonide (0.2 nM) and formoterol (1 μM) had a synergistic inhibition effect on IL-4 mRNA expression and protein production but not IL-13 and histamine release. The JNK inhibitor SP600125 (10 μM) inhibited antigen-induced mRNA expression and protein production of IL-4. Des-ciclesonide and formoterol alone inhibited the activation of JNK in a concentration-dependent manner, and the combination of des-ciclesonide (0.2 nM) and formoterol (1 μM) exhibited greater inhibition effect compared with des-ciclesonide (0.2 nM) or formoterol (1 μM) alone. Taken together, these synergistic effects on mast cells might provide the rationale for the development of the most recent ICS/LABA combination approved for asthma therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: Epidemiologic studies have associated higher dietary consumption of soy isoflavones with decreased self-report of cough and allergic respiratory symptoms, but the pharmacodynamic effects of soy isoflavone on asthmatic model have not been well-described. Here, we hypothesized that soy isoflavone may have potential effects on airway hyperresponsiveness, inflammation and airway remodeling in a murine of asthma. Mice sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin developed airway inflammation. Bronchoalveolar lavage fluid was assessed for inflammatory cell counts, and for cytokine levels. Oral administration of soy isoflavone significantly reduced ovalbumin-induced airway hyperresponsiveness to intravenous methacholine, and inhibited ovalbumin-induced increases in eosinophil counts. RT-PCR analysis of whole lung lysates revealed that soy isoflavone markedly suppressed ovalbumin-induced mRNA expression of eotaxin, interleukin(IL)-5, IL-4 and matrix metalloproteinase-9, and increased mRNA expression of interferon (IFN)-γ and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 in a dose-dependent manner. Soy isoflavone also substantially recovered IFN-γ/IL-4 (Th1/Th2) levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. In addition, histologic studies showed that soy isoflavone dramatically inhibited ovalbumin-induced lung tissue eosinophil infiltration, airway mucus production and collagen deposition in lung tissues. Abstract: This is the first time study to assess the novel use of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) to elicit ganoderic acid (GA) biosynthesis in Ganoderma lucidum and the resulting experiments demonstrated that MeJA was indeed a potent inducer of GA biosynthesis. To maximize GA synthesis, a statistical methodology called uniform design (UD) was used to optimize inducement conditions, which were determined to be 254μM MeJA solubilized in Tween-20 that was added to the culture on day 6. The resulting GA yield was 4.52mg/100mg dry weight (DW), which was 45.3% higher than the untreated control sample. To characterize the effect of MeJA on GA biosynthesis, quantitative real-time PCR was used to measure transcription levels of several genes in the synthesis pathway including hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-Coenzyme A synthase (hmgs), hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-Coenzyme A reductase (hmgr), mevalonate-5-pyrophosphate decarboxylase (mvd), farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase (fps), squalene synthase (sqs) and oxidosqualene cyclase (osc). Abstract: Background: Kaiso is a recently identified transcription factor that binds to p120-catenin (p120ctn), an Armadillo catenin and cell adhesion cofactor. However, clinical studies of human solid tumors have not been reported to investigate relationship between these proteins. Methods: Expression and localization of Kaiso and p120ctn were examined in 196 lung cancer specimens (including 55 cases of paired lymph node metastases and 80 cases with complete follow-up records) by immunohistochemistry. Three lung cancer cell lines, BE1, SPC, and A549 were used to establish p120ctn stably ablated or overexpressed cell lines. Co-immunoprecipitation was used to confirm p120ctn bind Kaiso in lung cancer tissue and cell lines. Localization and expression levels of Kaiso were detected via immunofluorescence, cytoplasmic vs. nuclear fractionation Western blot analysis and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Results: Cytoplasmic Kaiso expression was evident in 115 (58.7%), and abnormal p120ctn expression was noted in 168 (85.7%). Cytoplasmic Kaiso and abnormal p120ctn expressions were associated with higher degree of malignancy (high-stage and lymph node metastases, all P <0.05). Abnormal p120ctn and cytoplasmic Kaiso expressions were higher in matched autologous nodal metastases than in primary growths. The lung cancer-related 5-year survival rate was significantly lower in patients who were cytoplasmic Kaiso-positive (22.9%; P =0.029) or abnormal p120ctn expression (20.6%; P =0.001). Multivariate analysis showed abnormal p120ctn expression was an independent factor defining the clinicopathological characters of patients. Cytoplasmic Kaiso expression was correlated with cytoplasmic p120ctn, they formed Kaiso–p120ctn complex in lung cancer tissues and cell lines. In addition, p120ctn ablation and overexpression altered Kaiso subcellular localization and protein level. Although both isoforms can regulate subcellular localization and protein levels of Kaiso, we found that only p120ctn isoform 3, but not isoform 1, directly interacts with Kaiso. Conclusion: p120ctn and Kaiso might co-participate in the progression and lymph node metastasis of lung cancer. p120ctn regulates expression and localization of Kaiso in lung cancer cells. Abstract: Different isoforms of p120-catenin (p120ctn), a member of the Armadillo gene family, are variably expressed in different tissues as a result of alternative splicing and the use of multiple translation initiation codons. When expressed in cancer cells, these isoforms may confer different properties with respect to cell adhesion and invasion. We have previously reported that the p120ctn isoforms 1 and 3 were the most highly expressed isoforms in normal lung tissues, and their expression level was reduced in lung tumor cells. To precisely define their biological roles, we transfected p120ctn isoforms 1A and 3A into the lung cancer cell lines A549 and NCI-H460. Enhanced expression of p120ctn isoform 1A not only upregulated E-cadherin and β-catenin, but also downregulated the Rac1 activity, and as a result, inhibited the ability of cells to invade. In contrast, overexpression of p120ctn isoform 3A led to the inactivation of Cdc42 and the activation of RhoA, and had a smaller influence on invasion. However, we found that isoform 3A had a greater ability than isoform 1A in both inhibiting the cell cycle and reducing tumor cell proliferation. The present study revealed that p120ctn isoforms 1A and 3A differently regulated the adhesive, proliferative, and invasive properties of lung cancer cells through distinct mechanisms.
