Straipsnyje analizuojamos dvi prieigos prie Francio Bacono tapybos. Tiek Gilles’io Deleuze’o filosofijai, tiek Alphonso Lingio postfenomenologijai būdingos jautraus kūno, pojūčio ir afekto sąvokos, o jų probleminis statusas geriausiai išryškėja būtent per jų santykį su Bacono tapyba, kuri kaip savo pagrindinį objektą pateikia pažeidžiamo ir intensyviai afektuojamo kūno realybę. Straipsnyje koncentruojamasi į klausimą, kuris inicijavo abu tyrimus. Kas iš tiesų lemia Bacono paveikslų paveikumą: linijos ir spalvos prievartingumas, paneigiantis figūratyvumo faktorių Bacono tapyboje (Deleuze’as) ar, priešingai, paties gyvenimo žiaurumas, patvirtinantis reprezentacijos reikšmę (Lingis)? Straipsnyje teigiama, kad tokias skirtingas interpretacijas lemia skirtinga patirties samprata. Lingis akcentuoja aktualią patirtį, tai leidžia pagrįsti kūrybos, asmeninės kūrėjo patirties ir gyvenamojo pasaulio ryšį. Deleuze’as kalba apie virtualią patirtį, beasmenį gyvenimą, kūną be organų ir naujų perspektyvų kūrimą. Two different approaches towards Francis Bacon’s painting are analysed in the article: postmodern and phenomenological. The problematic and multiple status of such concepts as sensitive body, intensive sensation and the affect common for both Gilles Deleuze’s and Alphonso Lingis’ philosophy become most visible in regard to Bacon’s painting that displays the reality of the vulnerable and intensely affected body as his main subject. The article follows the main intrigue which inspires their studies, i.e. the article aims to explain what determines the suggestibility of Bacon’s canvas: is there the violence of line and colour, which negates the role of figuration (Deleuze) or the violence of life, that on the contrary, affirms representation (Lingis)? The author maintains that such different interpretations are determined by different notions of experience. Lingis emphasizes actual experience which allows to find the link between creation, lived body and life world, while Deleuze stresses virtual experience, impersonal life, body without organs and creation of new perspectives.

Straipsnyje glaustai aptarus antinatalizmo filosofijos prigimtį, rūšis ir kilmę, nagrinėjama Vydūno praktinio antinatalizmo ir jo filosofinių pažiūrų santykis. Daroma išvada, kad vedantiškai platoniškas Vydūno požiūris į žmogaus sielos ir kūno santykį jo nusistatymui neturėti vaikų iš esmės neprieštarauja. Vis dėlto kyla abejonių dėl Vydūno lytiškumo sampratos. Ar lytiškumą Vydūnas palieka kūnui (kaip tai daro Platonas), ar pakylėja jį į sielos lygmenį. Pastaruoju atveju antinatalizmą reikėtų traktuoti kaip nepataisomą skriaudą moteriai bei sutuoktinių porai. After completing concise review of the nature, species and origin of antinatalist philosophy, the article focuses on the relation between Vydūnas’s practical antinatalism and his philosophical creed. It concludes that Vedantic-Platonic Vydūnas’s treatment of the relation between human soul and body is essentially compatible with his decision not to have children. Nevertheless, remains some doubts concerning his concept of sexuality. Does he relegate it exclusively to the body (as Plato does) or rise it to the level of the soul? In the latter case, antinatalism would be essentially harmful to a woman and to a couple.

Šiame straipsnyje atliekama lyginamoji Maxo Schelerio ir Vosyliaus Sezemano vaizduotės sampratos analizė, parodoma, kad jų estetikoje yra atskleidžiama vaizduotės ir pasaulio fenomenų koreliacija, kuri nustato apriorinius reikalavimus vaizduotės veiklai. Pirmiausia nagrinėjama koreliacijos problema Husserlio ir Schelerio frenomenologijoje, paskui – vaizduotės samprata Schelerio filosofijoje ir galiausiai – vaizduotės samprata Sezemano estetikoje. Scheleris pabrėžė dvasinės veiklos koreliatyvų sąryšį su pasauliu. Vaizduotės sampratą jis susiejo su praktiniu buvimu pasaulyje. Sezemano estetikoje taip pat buvo svarstomas įkūnytos vaizduotės vaidmuo meninėje kūryboje ir estetinių objektų suvokime. Abu autoriai teigė, kad vaizduotės sąryšį su esminiais pasaulio duoties būdais užtikrina kūniškasis vaizduotės pobūdis. Abu pripažino, kad vaizduotė yra susijusi su nesąmonigais troškimais ir vara. Abu autoriai teigė, kad vaizduotės schematizmai išreiškia pasaulio suvokimo stilių. Scheleris pažymėjo, kad vaizduotė atskleidžia esminius fenomenų raiškos aspektus ir taip grindžia abstrakcijų galimybę. Sezemanas šią tezę išplėtojo ir analizavo abstrahavimo vaidmenį ir simbolių-schemų sudarymą kūrybiname vaizduotės procese. In this article, I make a comparative analysis of Scheler’s and Seseman’s conceptions of imagination and show that there is a correlation between imagination and world phenomenain their aesthetics, which sets the a priori requirements for the activity of the imagination. First, I address the correlation problem in Husserl’s and Scheller’s phenomenology. Then I analyze the conception of imagination in Scheler’s philosophy. Finally, I discuss the conception of imagination in Seseman’s aesthetics. Max Scheler emphasizes the correlative connection of spiritual activity with the world. He links the concept of imagination to the practical being in the world. In Seseman’s aesthetics, the role of embodied imagination in artistic creation and the perception of aesthetic objects is also considered. Both authors argue that the connection between imagination and the essential modes of the world’s givenness is guaranteed by the mode of embodied imagination. Both authors acknowledge that imagination is related to unconscious desires and drive. They state that the schematisms of imagination express the style of the perception of the world. Scheller notes that imagination reveals essential aspects of the expression of phenomena, and thus justifies the possibility of abstractions. Seseman develops this thesis and analyzes the role of abstraction and the creation of symbols – schemes in the creative process of imagination.

Išskirtinis šio Vydūno gyvenimo ir dramaturgijos, išryškinant jo dramą „Probočių šešėliai“ kaip tiesioginį objektą, tyrimo bruožas – tai jame taikomi metodai. Be klasikinės teksto analizės kaip nusistovėjusios humanitarinių mokslų praktikos taikomas poststruktūralistinis dekonstrukcijos metodas – šiuo metu itin populiari metodinė priemonė. Tekste formuojamos binarinės verčių poros (pvz., centras/fonas, geras/blogas ir t.t.), analizuojamos išmėginant, kas seka, jei šių porų santykis interpretuojamas kaip reversabilus ir priklausomas nuo skaitytojo pozicijos. Fenomenologinis-hermeneutinis protokolas – neįprasta naujovė humanitariniuose moksluose. Vadovaujantis šiuo metodu tyrimas aprašomas, nuosekliai laikantis jo eigos ir dinamikos tiek laiko, tiek kognityviniu, t.y. problemų kėlimo bei sprendimo, atžvilgiu. Šiuo būdu siekiama išryškinti dažnai nuslepiamą bet kokio tyrimo dalį – jo natūralią kognityvinę raidą, kai, pavyzdžiui, atradimus seka paklydimai, o trumpalaikes hipotezes keičia ilgalaikės, kai atsiranda naujų duomenų tyrimo eigoje ir pan. Šio tyrimo eiga yra tarsi protokoluojama, tuo pat metu laikantis ir realių (pvz., empirinių duomenų ieškojimo), ir virtualių (pvz., esamų duomenų interpretacijos ir mąstymo dinamikos) įvykių eigos. Įprastas kritinis metodas ypač griežtai apibrėžia tiriamojo objekto pozicijas visų kitų objektų erdvėje, tačiau gana atsainiai žiūri į paties tyrėjo pozicijų egzistencinį ir kognityvinį apibrėžtumą pasaulio erdvėje ir laike. Šiame tyrime mėginama šią disproporciją įveikti, įlaikinant tyrimo aprašymą The defining feature of this research, which looks into Vydūnas’ life and play-writing and focuses specifically on his play “Shadows of the Ancestors” (Probočių šešėliai), lies in methods used. Apart from a classical textual analysis, a standard practice of humanitarian disciplines, the author also employs a post-structural method of deconstruction – methodological instrument, which is especially popular now. The work formulates binary pairs of values (for example, centre/background, good/bad and so on), these pairs are analyzed by testing what happens if the relations of these pairs are interpreted as reversible and dependent on reader’s position. Phenomenological-hermeneutic transcript is an unusual innovation in humanitarian disciplines. In employing this methodology, research is described by consistently following its course and dynamics in respect of time and cognition, meaning identification and resolution of problems. This way, the author aims to demonstrate an integral part of any research, which is often hidden: its natural cognitive evolution, when discoveries are followed by mistakes and short-term hypothesis are replaced by long-term ones, when new data is discovered in the course of the research and so on. The process of this research is being transcribed by taking into account the sequence of both real (search for empirical data) and virtual (dynamics of interpreting data) events. The usual critical method is especially strict when it comes describing position of research object in the space of all other objects, but is reluctant to define researcher’s position.

Kūnas Aleksejaus Germano filme „Sunku būti dievu“ pažymėtas juslių žalojimo gausos ir sąlyčio su ontologinės tikrovės efektą kuriančiais elementais pertekliumi. Tačiau pats kūno vaizdavimas čia išreikštas griežta žodžio ir tikrovės, vaizdo ir materijos, subjekto ir naratyvo, kitų reprezentacinių elementų atitikimo logika. Šiuo straipsniu, atitolstant nuo kūniškumo studijų ir Gilles’io Deleuze’o afekto koncepcijos paremtų kino tyrimų, bandoma išryškinti kūno pertekliaus poziciją Jacques’o Rancière’o nereprezentuojamumo ir didingumo sąvokų genealoginėje kritikoje. Parataktiškai jungiant Germano kino scenarijaus tekstą ir kino vaizdinius, Lisabonos žemės drebėjimo aprašymą ir Immanuelio Kanto didingumo sąvokos analizę, šiuo straipsniu labiau siekiama įrašyti nei pademonstruoti singuliaraus kūno pajautos kūrimo įvykius bei kūno pertekliaus reprezentacijos politiškumo pasekmes. Aleksey German’s last film, “Hard to be a god”, is marked by the excess of the body, the overwhelming visualization of mutilation of senses and the abundance of other elements that create the effect of ontological reality. Yet the representation of the body itself follows a strict logic of correspondence between words and presence, images and matter, and subject and narrative. This article departs from the usual pattern of studies in the philosophy of film that tend to draw heavily on concepts such as embodiment and the Deleuzian notion of affect. Instead, it attempts to delineate the valence of the bodily excess in the genealogy of aesthetics, as set out by Jacques Rancière in his critique of the concepts of nonrepresentability and the sublime. Thus, the article paratacticaly engages, inter alia, fragments of Aleksey German’s script, his film’s images, as well as descriptions of the Lisbon earthquake and Imanuel Kant’s evocations of the sublime. It does so in order to inscribe, rather than demonstrate, the political consequences of the representation of bodily excess, and to insist on, rather than explicate, the singular events creating a bodily aesthesis.

Straipsnis nagrinėja, kaip Shaunas Gallagheris sprendžia fenomenologijos ir natūralizmo suderinamumo klausimą. Pirmoje dalyje aptariamas Gallagherio tyrimų atspirties taškas: fenomenologinės kūno schemos sampratos pritaikymas interpretuojant trečiojo asmens prieiga gautus duomenis. Antroje dalyje aptariamas bendras Gallagherio fenomenologijos natūralizavimo projektas: argumentai už tai, kad į natūralistinę programą būtų įtrauktos ne paskiros fenomenologų įžvalgos, bet metodiškas pirmojo asmens prieigos taikymas. Trečioje dalyje aptariami argumentai prieš fenomenologijos natūralizavimą. Teigiama, kad pagrindinė problema fenomenologiją ir natūralizmą derinančiam filosofui – mąstymo fenomenologijos natūralizavimas. Galiausiai bandoma apibrėžti fenomenologijos natūralizavimo projekto perspektyvas. Paper analyses Shaun Gallagher’s way of addressing the question of the compatibility of phenomenology and naturalism. The first part discusses Gallagher’s point of departure: the application of phenomenological conception of the body schema in an analysis of data acquired using the third-person approach. The second part discusses Gallagher’s broader project of naturalizing phenomenology: arguments supporting the idea that the naturalist programme should include not separate phenomenological insights but systematic application of the first-person approach. The third part discusses counterarguments to the naturalization of phenomenology. The authors claim that the main problem facing the philosopher trying to naturalize phenomenology is the naturalization of the phenomenology of thought. Finally, an attempt is made to describe the prospects of the project of naturalizing phenomenology.

The paper discusses a formation of the ethical body in Levinas’ philosophy. The central question is how different modalities of subjectivity, brought into light in face-to-face relation with the other, constitute a particular ethical and sensible embodiment. The main topics of the paper are caress, touch, and pain, and their role in constructing ethical embodiment. The focus is given to such existential modalities as being-in-one’s-own-skin, the-one-for-the-other and having-the-other-under-one’s-own-skin. The conceptual work of maternity and the feminine in the face-to-face situation accentuate a meaning of responsive and responsible sensibility which Levinas reveals in his major works Otherwise than Being or Beyond the Essence and Totality and Infinity. Straipsnyje interpretuojamas Platono dialogas apie sielą Faidonas. Sielos problematiką į filosofavimo darbotvarkę įtraukė Sokratas, kuris, polemizuodamas su sofistų (daiktiškuoju) žmogaus matu, propagavo alternatyvų žmogaus matą, t. y. skelbė imperatyvą, raginantį pasirūpinti siela, kad ji būtų kuo geresnė. Platonas mėgina suteorinti sokratiškąjį praktinį filosofavimą, todėl jam tenka rekonstruoti sokratiškojo imperatyvo teorines prielaidas, t. y. apibrėžti šiuo imperatyvu numanomą subjektą bei nurodyti imperatyvo prasmingumo sąlygas. Apibrėžiant sielą kaip etiškai specifikuoto filosofavimo subjektą atspirties tašku tampa sofistų apibrėžtas anonimiškas kasdienio mąstymo subjektas – jusliška siela arba kūnas. Herakleitiškai siejant kasdienį mąstymą ir jo subjektą su mirtimi, jam priešinamas filosofinis mąstymas ir jo subjektas pirmiausia paženklinami negatyvia nemirtingumo apibrėžtimi. Todėl etiškai modifikuoto filosofavimo subjekto apibrėžinėjimas Faidone virsta sielos nemirtingumo įrodymais. Šiame straipsnyje mėginama rekonstruoti tas naujojo filosofavimo subjekto apibrėžtis, kurios išryškėja dialektiniame bei gnoseologiniame sielos nemirtingumo įrodymuose. Dialektiniame sielos nemirtingumo įrodyme didinamas kalbėjimo dviprasmiškumas, kuris, jį ontologizuojant, prielaidauja realybės dvilypumą. Šia prielaida preliminariai numatoma kasdieniam mąstymui alternatyvi mąstymo sritis, o tradicinis sielos vaizdinys atribojamas nuo kasdienio mąstymo srities. Gnoseologiniame sielos nemirtingumo įrodyme, atsispiriant į kasdienio mąstymo pažintinę specifiką, konstruojama pažinimo kaip atsiminimo samprata, kuria apibrėžiamas nuo kūno demarkuotos sielos pažintinis profilis. In the Phaedo, Plato discussed the soul. It was Socrates who included the soul on the agenda of philosophy. In his ardent polemics with sophists, Socrates promoted an alternative man measure. Socrates spoke of the need to take care of the soul by making it better. Plato attempted to reconstruct theoretically the practical philosophizing of Socrates. So Plato was compelled to define the subject of the imperative as well as the preconditions that make sense of the imperative. Sensual soul or body, which already has been defined by sophists as the anonymous subject of pragmatic or daily thinking, was taken as the starting point for the definition of the soul as a subject of ethically specified philosophizing. Following Heraclitus, daily thinking and its subject were related to death. In opposition to them, philosophical thinking and its subject were marked with a meaning of immortality. Therefore, the definition of the subject of ethically modified philosophizing turned into theoretical arguments for the soul’s immortality. This article attempts to reconstruct those aspects of the new subject of philosophizing which became apparent in the dialectical and gnoseological arguments for the soul’s immortality. The dialectical argument for the soul’s immortality rests on the ambiguity of speech that in synoptical thinking is ontologically interpreted as an ambiguity of reality. The latter assumption presupposes an alternative to daily thinking and demarcates the traditional image of the soul from the area of daily thinking. The gnoseological argument for the soul’s immortality departs from the gnoseology of daily thinking and constructs a theory of recollection as a specific cognitive feature of the ethically specified soul.

Straipsnyje siekiama parodyti, kad vėlyvojo Merleau-Ponty kalbėjimo fenomenologija yra nuoseklus suvokimo fenomenologijoje suformuluotų teiginių bei nagrinėjamų problemų apmąstymas, siekiant atsakyti į ankstyvojo filosofavimo laikotarpiu iškeltus klausimus bei išspręsti subjekto/objekto priešpriešos problemą. Taip pat straipsnyje akcentuojama, jog reikšmės diakritiškumo postulatas Merleau-Ponty koncepcijoje nėra paprasčiausias De Saussure’o išplėtoto struktūrinio modelio analizės rezultatas. Merleau-Ponty suvokimo fenomenologija nuo pat pradžių numano tokias juslinio suvokimo sąlygas, kurios pirmapradiškai implikuoja kūnišką žmogaus buvimą pasaulyje ir dėl kurių, esant pirmam planui, juslinio suvokimo fonui bei, veikiant lateralinės bei giluminės diferenciacijų funkcijoms, pats juslinis suvokimas traktuotinas kaip diakritinis. Būdamas toks, jis apsprendžia reikšmės diakritiškumą. Suvokimas visada yra susijęs su gyvenamo kūno ekspresyvumu. The objective of the present article is to demonstrate that Merleau-Ponty’s latest phenomenology of speech is the sequential reflection of propositions and problems which were under consideration in Phenomenology of perception. First and foremost the philosopher tried to solve the problem of contraposition between subject and object. Also the author of the article argues that the postulate of the diacritical nature of signification is not a mere result of analysis of the Saussurian structural model. Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology of perception presupposes the specific conditions of sensual perception which implies the embodied human‘s being in the world. Thus due to background and foreground as well as the activity of differential functions (the depth and lateral dimension), the sensual perception must be considered as diacritical. Accordingly, it determines the diacricity of meaning. Perception is always related to the expressivity of lived body.

Viename iš ankstyvųjų Platono dialogų – „Kritone“ perteikiamas pasmerkto myriop Sokrato ir jo artimo bičiulio Kritono pokalbis. Nors Sokrato likimą lėmė graikiškosios demokratijos reiškinys – formaliai korektiškai realizuota teismo procedūra, tačiau jos rezultatas filosofo bičiuliams ir sekėjams visiškai nepriimtinas emociškai. Pats Sokratas ne tik nesijaučia esąs neteisus, bet ir randa argumentų savo elgesiui pateisinti. Sokrato ir polio konfliktas atskleidžia esant du teisingumus ir suproblemina patį teisingumą. Straipsnyje mėginama rekonstruoti abiejų teisingumų turiningąsias ir formaliąsias prielaidas. Vienas iš teisingumų siejamas su kasdienio gyvenimo bei mąstymo kontūru, kitas – su etinio gyvenimo bei mąstymo sfera. Parodoma, kad kiekviena veiklos sfera numato skirtingus veiklos subjektus, o jų prigimties skirtumai lemia savitas teisingumo sampratas. Kasdienio gyvenimo ir mąstymo srityje anonimiškas žmogus yra visų (socialinės prigimties) daiktų – taigi ir teisingumo – matas. Todėl čia teisingumas yra neišvengiamai reliatyvus ir gali būti nustatomas tik arbitraliu sprendimu. Etinės elgsenos ir mąstymo sferoje gėrio vertybė yra paties žmogaus matas. Todėl šioje sferoje galimas absoliutus teisingumas: kiekvienam bet kuriomis aplinkybėmis duota būti doram ir sąžiningam. Sokratas vadovaujasi etinės sferos absoliutaus teisingumo nuostata, skelbiančia, jog „apskritai negalima neteisingai elgtis“, paklūsta emociškai nepriimtinam polio teismo sprendimui ir gelbsti etinio teisingumo subjektą – sielą. The court of Athens – a phenomenon of Greek democracy – had just sent Socrates to death. Nevertheless, the decision of the court, realized in a formally correct procedure, is emotionally unacceptable for both his friends and followers. Socrates does not feel guilty, either, and finds strong arguments in his favour. The conflict between Socrates and the Greek polis reveals the duality of justice and makes justice problematic. An attempt is made to reconstruct the formal and concrete premises of two types of justice. One type of justice is related to daily life and thinking and the other to the ethic kind of life and thinking. It is demonstrated that each sphere of activity presupposes a different subject of activity, which results in a different kind of justice. Man is a measure of all things in the sphere of daily life and thinking. Consequently, man is a measure of justice as well. That is why justice in this sphere is relative and could be established exclusively by an arbitrary decision. In the sphere of ethical life and thinking, the value of good is a measure of man. Therefore, absolute justice is possible in this sphere: anyone in any circumstances could remain virtuous and honest. Socrates pursues the attitude of absolute justice: “we must not do wrong at all“. Thus, he obeys the decision of the Greek court and saves the soul, i. e. the subject of absolute justice. Jacques’o Derrida knyga Le toucher, Jean-Luc Nancy, pasirodžiusi jau po jo mirties, verčia iš naujo permąstyti prisilietimo temą. Knyga ne tik ragina prisiliesti prie Nancy filosofijos temų, bet ir apsvarstyti prisilietimo temą kaip tokią, netgi permąstyti pačią filosofiją kaip mintį, kuri mus liečia, paliečia, ir jau niekuomet nepalieka. Derrida pastebi, jog prisilietimo tema nėra nauja – apie ją yra rašęs Emmanuelis Levinas, taip pat ir Maurice’as Merleau-Ponty. Galime teigti, jog prisilietimas yra specifinė fenomenologinė tema tiek, kiek fenomenologinė intencijos sąvoka implikuoja nukreiptumą, sąveiką ir sąsają. Kita vertus, paties Derrida ir jo „liečiamo“ Nancy tekstai žymi fenomenologinės tradicijos lūžį, nes prisilietimo tema čia apsvarstoma kontekste, kuris jau nenumato sąmonės vientisumo ir netgi dekonstruoja pačią subjekto sampratą. Galima teigti, jog jei fenomenologinėje tradicijoje prisilietimas visų pirma nurodo subjekto intenciją, jo valią ir nukreiptumą, tai postfenomenologiniame kontekste imama akcentuoti tai, kas paliečiama – kito kūnas. Kito kūnas pasirodo kaip kūno paviršius, kaip tai, ką galima, įmanoma paliesti, tačiau negalima pasisavinti, paversti subjekto vidujybe. Galima daryti prielaidą, jog tai, kas paliečiama, taip pat yra subjektas, tačiau Derrida ir Nancy siūlytų tokia prielaida nepasitikėti. Nes kūnas, ar jis būtų savas, ar svetimas, visuomet jau yra kitas. Šiame straipsnyje bus siekiama apibrėžti, kokios konceptualinės prielaidos leidžia mums tą kitą kūną apmąstyti ir kaip šis mąstymas pakeičia pačios filosofijos sąlygas. Jacques Derrida in his Le toucher, Jean-Luc Nancy reconsiders the notion of touching. The book not only touches anew the philosophy of Jean-Luc Nancy but also conceptualizes philosophy itself as a thought which “touches” us in a very specific way. The theme of touching is not new in the philosophical tradition: as Derrida pointed out, this theme appears in the phenomenology of Emmanuel Levinas and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Phenomenology has a specific interest in the theme of touching as far as phenomenological approach always presupposes intertwining and reciprocal insertion between the sentient body and the sensed body. By contrast, Derrida in his close reading of Nancy develops a notion of touching that “shivers throughout a whole idea of phenomenology”. The post-phenomenological notion of touching makes stress not on the touching subject but on the touched other: as Nancy pointed out, the bodies are usually given to us as bodies of “others” and “others” always appear as other bodies. This is why the body is the other. The other is discovered as the surface of body, which can be touched but which can never become the theme, the idea or the property of subjective consciousness. Nancy questions the idea of intersubjectivity or intercorporeality based on the reciprocal insertion and intertwining. What makes a connection between the bodies is the moment of their co-appearance and co-exposedness. The article intends to describe this conceptual shift from subjective consciousness to the theme of the other and ask how this conceptual shift changes the conditions of philosophy itself.

Straipsnyje analizuojama Jeano Luco Nancy knygoje Corpus suformuluota kūno samprata, nurodoma jos priklausomybė nuo fenomenologinės Emmanuelio Levino ir Maurice’o Merleau-Ponty tradicijos. Straipsnyje taip pat siekiama atskleisti Nancy kūno sampratos radikalumą, jos artimumą tiek Jacques’o Derrida įteisintoms rasymo, paskirstymo erdvėje temoms, tiek Gilles’o Deleuze’o ir Felixo Guattari sukurtai materialistinei kūno koncepcijai. Nancy kūną siekia islaisvinti nuo reiksmės ir bet kokio organizavimo principo. Taciau norėdamas paaiskinti, kaip kūnai egzistuoja, jis priverstas israsti naujas sąvokas: isstatymas, kūnų paskirstymas erdvėje, arealiskumas, technē, kūrimas be kūrėjo. Būtent pastaroji sąvoka leidžia Nancy projektą vadinti „krikscionybės dekonstrukcija“; kita vertus, si sąvoka savotiskai kompromituoja Nancy teorijos radikalumą, atskleisdama bet kurios kūno filosofijos priklausomybe nuo krikscioniskosios tradicijos. Nancy’s Corpus Audronė Žukauskaitė Summary The author explores the notion of the body in Jean-Luc Nancy’s Corpus. On the one hand, she shows how Nancy’s project still depends on the phenomenological tradition of Emmanuel Levinas and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. On the other hand, she seeks to demonstrate the radical character of this notion and its similarity to Jacques Derrida’s concept of writing and spacing as well as to the materialistic concept of the body elaborated by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. This similarity is based on the assumption that the body could be thought of and described as beyond any meaningful principle of organization. In order to explain how such bodies exist, Nancy is forced to invent new concepts such as spacing out, expeausition, areality, technē, creation without creator. It is exactly the latter concept that enables Derrida to describe Nancy’s project as “deconstruction of Christianity”. This concept also indicates a compromise in Nancy’s radical thinking, revealing that any “philosophy of the body” in Western thought still belongs to the tradition of Christianity. Autorius, pasitelkęs fenomenologinį tyrinėjimo metodą, F.Brentano ir E.Huserlio sąmonės intencionalumo teorijas, mėgina atrasti lietuvišką tapatybę įvairių šokių raiškoje. Straipsnyje nagrinėjama šokio ir jo filosofinių interpretacijų istorija, plačiau sustojant ties J.Baudrillardo ir G.Deleuze’o koncepcijomis. Straipsnyje akcentuojama, kad J.Baudrillardas G. Deleuze'o variacingumui priešina ritualo invariantiškumą, bet lieka ištikimas amžinojo sugrįžimo mitui – ir invariacingumas, ir variacingumas suponuojantys nekulminacinį intencionalumą. Nagrinėdamas skirtingas šokių rūšis, autorius pažymi, kad ritualiniame šokyje svarbiausia – šventybės prezencija, o moderniame pramoginiame šokyje svarbiausia – žaidimas. Čia skirtumą nurodanti ir išryškinanti galios fenomenologija. Ieškodamas intencionalumo struktūrų lietuviškuose šokių motyvuose, autorius pradeda nuo lietuviškų dainų – sutartinių, nagrinėja modernaus pramoginio šokio atsiradimą Lietuvoje, liaudies šokių ansamblių veiklą, disko šokių atsiradimą, porinio šokio schemos suirimą, leidusį atsiskleisti moters kūrybiškumui. Straipsnyje prieinama prie išvados, kad lietuviška tapatybė yra hibridinė, nes joje susilieja archajinis cikliškumas ir policentrizmas, mažybinis baroko variacingumas, buržuazinės šeimos ir poros idealas, sovietinis totalitarizmas ir diskotekinis individualizmas ir Didžiojo pasakojimo, kurį autorius vadina Lietuva, epochoistorinis finalizmas. The article, on the basis of a phenomenological analysis of intentional structures that are embodied in the movements of dances and in kinaesthetic experience, attempts to elucidate the traces of Lithuanian identity. The basic sources of these research arc texts of the so-called post-structural philosophers - Baudrillard, Delcuse, Barthes, and Derrida - that are extremely sensitive to the question of identities and differences in European contexts. Lithuanian identity, as one can judge from the sources that were kinaesthetically analyzed in the article, is hybrid. It includes the archaic cycles and polycentrism, the variability of the Baroque minuet, the ideal of the family of the bourgeoisie, Soviet totalitarianism and the individualism of the discotheque, and last but not least - the historical finalism of the embodied Le Grand Récit, that in this case might be simply named Lithuania.

Emmanuelis Levinas Kitą aprašo taip, kad jame pastebimos aliuzijos į moteriškumą. Ankstyvuosiuose savo veikaluose moteriškumą jis apibūdina kaip par excellence Kitą, bet vėliau šį apibūdinimą truputį pakeičia: moteriškumas erotikoje ir būste yra etiškumo prielaida, nors pats savaime etikos sričiai jis nepriklauso. Tačiau traktate „Kitaip negu būtis arba anapus esmės" (1974) santykį su kitoniškumu Levinas apibrėžia kaip artumą ir teigia, kad išbaigtame buvime „Kitam" motinystė yra aukščiausia atvirumo Kitam prasmė. Šiuo straipsniu siekiama pabrėžti Levino pastangas feministinei teorijai atskleisti universalios filosofinės kalbos tropus.

Paskutiniais dešimtmečiais gausėja tyrinėjimų, kuriuose lyginamos procesualios kinų pasaulėžiūros ir daoizmo idėjos su Vakarų "poklasikinių" bei postmodernizmo filosofų - F. Nietzsche, S. Kierkegaard'o, E. Husserlio, M. Heideggerio, A. VVhitheado, M. Merleau-Ponty, L. VVittgeinsteino, J. Derrida mąstymu. Ši banga, kai kurių filosofų šmaikščiai pavadinta Euro-Daoizmu arba Derri-Daoizmu, tebepalieka atvirą klausimą, ar (ir kiek) šios poklasikinės Vakarų filosofijos transformacijos yra paveiktos kinų bei kitų Rytų kultūrų recepcijos bei žavėjimosi jomis, ar (ir kiek) jos yra tradiciniam kinų mąstymui, ypač daoizmui, artimos "periferinės" Vakarų filosofijos srovės (nuo Herakleito, Naujųjų pitagoriečių, negatyviosios viduramžių misticizmo teologijos iki egzistencializmo) tąsa. Tačiau minėtųjų Vakarų ir kinų mąstytojų minčių sutapimas kai kuriomis temomis yra išties intriguojantis ir skatina ieškoti šiuos panašumus funduojančių pagrindų, kurie dažniausiai pasirodo esantys gana skirtingi. The article deals with the meaning of human body in Chinese traditional culture. One of the questions, which the article aims to answer, is "Why Chinese concept of human body is still considered as the alternative to the Western one, in spite of the fact that Western postmodernism and its topology of the body is partly influenced by Chinese and Eastern ideas?". The purpose of the article is to analyse Chinese understanding of human body not only in "theoretical' (semantical) level but on the "practical" (aesthetical) level as well, in order to revel the way the body becomes the means of expression and is expressed through the artist creativity. The investigation starts from the etimology and semantics of one Chinese concept for the body, namely fi and its connestions with ancient ritual (in its performative aspect), which implicates the meaning of the body as vessel in its positive sense, later developed by Laozi and Daoism as well. The analysis proceeds on the relationship of the body and writing in Chinese culture and classical literature aesthetics (mainly by Lu Ji and Liu Xie), with the latters emphasis on the understanding literature (wen) as human body in its energetical sense (with the help of the concept of qi, "vital energy"), which futher brings attention to the relationship of body and calligraphy, body and wind (feng) in Chinese literature creativity. Finally, the analysis concentrates on the visualization of human body in Chinese art, namely, the portraiture, in which the main differences between Western and Chinese interpretation and painting of human body could be observed.

The article concentrates on the concept of body in the essay "The Roadside Dog" (1998) by Czesław Miłosz, the Nobel Prize winner, considering corporeal from the postructuralist perspective of deanthropologisation and subject decentration. Essayism is a special quality of contemporary culture. The union of philosophy, literature and science can be argued to be present here. "There is nothing beyond text" - this idea of Jacques Derrida is the fundament for the novel reflection of text. Essay is a convenient genre space for the competition of reality and relativity, for the introduction of text into life and vice versa. The space of text unites cultural, social, linguistic and mental features of a creator. Text strives to the achievement of two goals - the dialogue with the reader and the monologue of the author with himself and the search for the inner L In the genre of essay, these relationships are directed to the self-revelation and the self-identification of a personality. The authorial I in this genre is treated as being located beyond the common, the norm, and the boundaries. The human "exits from oneself and arrives to oneself". Czeslaw Miłosz could not fail to avoid the issue of man. He concentrates on the integral features allowing to present the mankind as a single unit and the most various aspects of individual human's existence. The postmodern aesthetics criticizes the traditional representation and focuses on the idea of the subject's death. The subject of contemporary world cannot be identified to itSELF. It loses its metaphysical stability and can only be described through reflection, difference and self-expression. Its identity can change with every new perception of its own body, for it is the body that allows new forms of representation. The used strategy of text analysis is deconstruction. The margins of the analysis have also been imposed by the attitude to the genre of essay as reflecting the union of According to Czeslaw Miłosz, language is in special relationship with the world of culture. Miłosz admits that in specific cultures, specific rules of linguistic games and specific mythologies, both cultural and ideological, exist. The treatment of a language as a phenomenon giving birth is also understandable to Czeslaw Miłosz. Pretentious movement of the idea proceeding through a number of various facts, phenomena and ideas is typical of the philosopher. It requires erudition and activates thinking; it shapes its reader-recipient and involves him/ her into the specific relations of play. The author of the article is demonstrating how the variety of evidence of body and corporeal can be brought to a unified text deconstruction strategy. Such an approach allows an unlimited number of text reading versions. The analysis of the important marginal points of the source text leads to weighty results too. However, the article, actually, points at the problem rather than gives its solution

This interpretational work attempts to reveal the functioning of body images and toward the Other oriented postholocaust existential issue in Antanas Škėma's short story "Isaac" using the deconstructive methods of phenomenology and psychoanalysis. Self-identification possibilities are revealed through the study of the intertext by using images of a body. The ability of ego to construct its own narrative (A.Giddens) is chosen on the basis of identity construction analysis.
